ORIGINAL SERIES “SCOTTSDALE” PREMIERES ON JUNE 6
LOCAL GRAMMY AWARD NOMINATED CHILDREN’S MUSICIAN TO PERFORM A CHILDREN’S MUSIC CONCERT
Photo provided by David Sharpe
David “PapaHugs” Sharpe, a local Grammy award nominated children’s musician, will be performing a free concert on Saturday, July 9, at 1:30 p.m., at the Desert Foothills Library, 38443 N. Schoolhouse Rd., Cave Creek. The concert will be a fun, interactive, and upbeat performance of all original “PapaHugs” music for children of all ages and their families
David Sharpe has performed for thousands of children around the country at libraries, children’s museums, festivals, and special events. His music comes from observation of all the wonderful and imaginative things children say and do. Many of his songs have been influenced by his experiences with his own children and grandchildren.
VIM is rolling out the exclusive original series, “Scottsdale,” on June 6. This drama, created by screenwriter Anthony Bawn, a former North Scottsdale resident, revolves around an affluent desert family grappling with challenges beyond their control.
The plot centers on insurance tycoon and gubernatorial aspirant Henry Merrick, portrayed by Mark Whitis. Merrick clandestinely conspires with a local priest, Amir, brought to life by Joseph Penner. A character shrouded in mystery, Amir peddles a lethal drug, with a catch – prospective buyers must name him as their life insurance policy’s beneficiary.
Inspired by dramas like “Breaking Bad” and iconic soap operas such as “The Young and the Restless,” Bawn’s “Scottsdale” seeks to mirror the city’s reputedly upscale ambiance. It revolves around the well-known philanthropic Merrick family of Scottsdale, admired for their community involvement but also known for their questionable means of maintaining their status quo.
“Scottsdale” brings the city to life with on-location shoots in North Scottsdale and Chandler, and additional filming at Arizona Studios in Phoenix.
For more information, visit watchvim.com.
Since most schools today lack exposure to music, and music brings people together to express ourselves and use our imagination, Sharpe’s mission is to fill that gap with performances such as this one.
This summer, the McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic Center is set to light up the night with the familyfriendly Glow Up event on Friday, June 16, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 15525 N. Thompson Peak Pkwy.
The event offers attendees a unique night of entertainment featuring a live DJ, a foam party, glow games, and full access to pool amenities. As the evening unfolds, vibrant lights will illuminate the Aquatic Center, turning it into a radiant spectacle.
Entry fees are affordable, with tickets priced at $4 for resident children, $6 for resident adults, and slightly higher for non-residents at $6 for children and $9 for adults.
Glow Up is a unique summer event for families to create lasting memories while enjoying music, dance, and swimming under the beautiful Scottsdale sky, according to Daniel Miller, event contact. Safety measures will be in place to ensure a secure and memorable experience for all attendees.
As a fusion of swimming and dancing under a starlit sky, Glow Up promises to be a memorable summer highlight. Tickets are expected to sell quickly, so reserve yours in advance for this incredible night of fun. For more information, contact Daniel Miller at 480-3120205 or dmiller@scottsdaleaz.gov.

THE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MUSEUM (MIM), AT 4725 E. MAY BLVD., PHOENIX, HAS UNVEILED TWO UNIQUE, IMMERSIVE EVENTS THAT WILL BRING RICH MUSICAL CULTURE TO LIFE: CELEBRATE THE BLUES AND EXPERIENCE FRANCE. BOTH EVENTS, INCLUDED WITH REGULAR MUSEUM ADMISSION AND FREE FOR MEMBERS, OFFER VISITORS A CHANCE TO BE PART OF THE MELODIES AND MEMORIES WOVEN INTO MUSIC’S HISTORY.
On both Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11, Celebrate the Blues will delve into the roots of blues music, tracing its lineage from Southern delta traditions to the electrification of the big city. Attendees can partake in interactive exhibits, like the harmonica-making craft station from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South El Río room. This hands-on activity allows guests to construct their own harmonica and play along with the day’s performances.
Museumgoers can also capture their experiences in a hands-free photo booth, with the opportunity to share images online using the hashtag #MIMphx. Moreover, enriching performances and informative sessions, such as a performance by International Blues Challenge winner Eric Ramsey and a curator talk on the history of the blues by Rich Walter, will be held throughout the day. The event concludes with the screening of the blues documentary “Sidemen: Long Road to Glory” at 2:30 p.m.
The Phoenix Blues Society, Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture, and Arizona Commission on the Arts are significant supporters of the program, helping to bring an authentic blues experience to the heart of Arizona.
Following the blues celebration, the museum is set to host “Experience France” in honor of Bastille Day. The two-day affair, starting on Saturday, July 15, invites visitors to immerse themselves in the music and culture of
France. Café Allegro, within the museum premises, will tantalize taste buds with a selection of French-inspired cuisine.
While additional details are forthcoming, the event promises to encapsulate the French spirit, combining an exploration of France’s rich musical heritage with a culinary experience that pays tribute to the country’s renowned cuisine. This event is also supported by the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture and Arizona Commission on the Arts.
As one of the most comprehensive collections of musical instruments worldwide, the MIM continues to create opportunities for community engagement, education, and cultural exchange. Through these vibrant, immersive events, the museum continues its mission of celebrating the world’s diverse musical cultures and inviting guests to be part of music’s dynamic global journey.

Desert Hills Community School of Music Presents Summer Saxophone Ensemble Concert
Since the concert will be performed just days prior to Fourth of July, the theme will be patriotic, with songs chosen to celebrate American history and music.
ON
The School of Music is still inviting saxophone players of all ages and ability levels to join the ensemble; there is a one-time $25 participation fee, and all musicians who sign up will receive a free 45-minute saxophone lesson with ensemble leader Jeffrey Anthony, who has a master’s in saxophone performance from Arizona State University and has served as the Traditional Music Director at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church since 2017. The lesson with him may include ensemble material, fundamental skills, or any other music of the player’s choosing.
One unique feature of DHCSM’s saxophone ensemble is that it includes musicians from a diverse range of ages and backgrounds. Currently, the youngest player at the June 25 concert will be 13-year-old Ty Zandbergen, who has been playing the sax for five years. Initially drawn to the instrument due to his love of jazz music, Zandbergen joined the ensemble as a way to improve his techniques and connect with players from different walks of life. He enjoys the sense of community the ensemble provides, as well as the opportunity to learn new music and share it with audiences.
The ensemble also includes retirees such as Jeanne Weiland, who will turn 85 in August. Since receiving a saxophone for her 11th birthday, Weiland has been playing on and off over the years. When asked why she joined DHCSM’s saxophone ensemble, she says, “I like the music Jeffrey picks, I like being around other musicians, and I love to share music with the community. Plus, it gets me out of the house!”
United by their love of playing the saxophone, the ensemble is led by Anthony. In addition to serving as the Traditional Music Director at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, Anthony leads the woodwind program at
DHCSM. With an extensive saxophone career that has included performances across the U.S. and internationally as a member of the Joseph Wytko Saxophone Quartet, Anthony currently maintains a busy performance schedule as soprano saxophonist with the Fountain Hills Saxophone Quartet. This group has been named Artistsin-Residence at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church; in that capacity, they represent the church and the School of Music throughout the Valley.

Detour Company Theatre will present “Little Shop of Horrors” and “James and the Giant Peach” at Scottsdale
Center for the Performing Arts
DETOUR COMPANY THEATRE IS BRINGING DOUBLE THE FUN TO SCOTTSDALE WITH ITS PRODUCTION OF “LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS” AND “JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH” JUNE 9 THROUGH 11 AT SCOTTSDALE CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, 7380 E. SECOND ST.
Detour Company Theatre provides theater training and performance experiences for adults with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities, providing them authentic opportunities to develop artistry, demonstrate courage and collaboration, experience joy and participate in the sharing of musical theater with the entire community.
“’James and the Giant Peach’ and ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ are two stories about success, family and community,” says Detour Director Simon Ridley. “We are thrilled to be back at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts to share these marvelous musicals!”
“I love Detour, and I love how people come together and do shows,” Stern says. “I love acting with Detour because we are a big family and a big community. The audience will be impressed that we are doing such a hard show.”
Following “Little Shop of Horrors” will be “James and the Giant Peach,” a whimsical and magical journey about one boy out to change his life and find a real family. Based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name, “James and the Giant Peach” features a wickedly tuneful score by the Tony Award-nominated team of Pasek and Paul and a curiously quirky book by Timothy Allen McDonald.
“James and the Giant Peach” actor Jessica Stamm has been acting with Detour since 2006 and previously acted as Marcy Park in “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
Detour Company Theatre stages its productions in June and January of each year at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, where Detour is a resident company. Detour creates a vital space for honing creativity, building community, and shaping social progress. Detour is committed to elevating the voices of their artists by making theater and drama truly accessible for a community that is severely underrepresented in the visual and performing arts.
Detour will have two showings of “Little Shop of Horrors” on Friday, June 9, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, June 10, at 3 p.m. “James and the Giant Peach” has two showings on Saturday, June 10, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 11, at 3 p.m. Admission is free for all productions, but RSVP is mandatory for all planning to attend. To RSVP, visit scottsdaleperformingarts.org/events.
In the first of these two plays, “Little Shop of Horrors” follows meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn as he stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” after his coworker crush. This R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to Seymour as long as he keeps feeding it. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out-of-this-world origins and intent toward global domination!
Sophie Stern, who plays Audrey in “Little Shop of Horrors,” is excited to perform a lead role in one of her favorite musicals.
“I love acting at Detour because I like to be different characters,” Stamm says. “I’m excited for the audience to see these next two shows: ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ and ‘James and the Giant Peach.’ The audience will love it in ‘James in the Giant Peach’ when the two evil aunts come on stage!”
Director Andrea Head looks forward to using these shows as a space to explore, create, support, and enjoy theatre as a community.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to tell these stories on the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts stage,” Head says. “We hope the love we have as a theater company spills out into the audience and fills them with a newfound passion for the artistic process.”

Scottsdale Joins the Organization of World Heritage Cities
By Jessica Lema
THE ORGANIZATION OF WORLD HERITAGE CITIES RECENTLY GRANTED THE CITY OF SCOTTSDALE
MEMBERSHIP AMONG AN ELITE GROUP OF MORE THAN 200 CITIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD THAT ARE HOME TO UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES.
With this acceptance, the organization recognizes Scottsdale as the location of Frank Lloyd Wright’s desert home and laboratory, Taliesin West, and welcomes the city as an active participant in international efforts to protect and preserve the heritage of mankind.
“Scottsdale is proud to join the Organization of World Heritage Cities in solidarity with communities from around the world,” says Mayor David D. Ortega. “Taliesin West, truly exemplifies where exceptional design intersects with our Sonoran Desert environment, here in Scottsdale.”
Established in 1937, Wright’s winter home in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains was forged from the natural elements of the desert, with most of the labor done by the architect and his apprentices, making it one of his most personal works and a premier example of organic architecture.
It stands today as one of the regions most beloved attractions, with sprawling views of the Valley of the Sun, open to the public with tours and special events throughout the year.
Taliesin West was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, alongside seven other Frank Lloyd Wright sites, in 2019. The list recognizes natural and cultural sites that demonstrate significance and influence on a global scale.
“Frank Lloyd Wright’s work was added to the World Heritage List because it changed the way people design, build, and live throughout the world,” says Stuart Graff, president and CEO of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
“Those of us who live and work in Scottsdale, and the visitors who come here, also know how his work
shaped our community. The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation is pleased that the city now benefits as a World Heritage City because of Wright’s work at Taliesin West.”
The site has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974, was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1982 and was added to the Scottsdale Historic Register in 2006.
“Long ago, Frank Lloyd Wright saw the beauty and potential of Scottsdale’s Sonoran Desert, and his influence on the city remains clear to this day. Taliesin West draws travelers from around the world to Scottsdale, and this recognition will further elevate Scottsdale’s status as a renowned destination where art, architecture and design are not only experienced, but created and celebrated,” says Experience Scottsdale President and CEO Rachel Sacco.
Mayor Ortega will serve as the city’s communication liaison with the OWHC, with the help of Tourism and Events Director Karen Churchard.

Barro’s Pizza and Pepsi Unite for Eighth Year in Philanthropic Drive for Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children
ARIZONA’S MUCH-LOVED FAMILYOWNED RESTAURANT CHAIN BARRO’S PIZZA AND GLOBAL BEVERAGE GIANT PEPSI ARE SET TO COMBINE THEIR STRENGTHS FOR THE EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR IN AN INSPIRING FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN. Their target? Aiding the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children (ACFC) and the invaluable work it performs for families impacted by pediatric cancer.
Throughout the entire month of June, all Barro’s Pizza locations across Arizona will devote a portion of their proceeds, aiming to raise up to $40,000, from the sale of any lunch special to support ACFC’s mission.
With a tempting range of lunch specials to choose from, customers can enjoy a satisfying meal while contributing to a noble cause. Operating hours for this initiative may vary by location.
“We look forward to this fundraiser every year,” says Ken Barro, co-owner of Barro’s Pizza. “Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children has been instrumental in helping so many Arizona families during a very trying time. Thanks to our loyal customers, we’ve raised more than $221,000 to date and are excited to support them again this year.”
Established in 2013, ACFC was born out of the heart-wrenching experience of Chrisie Funari, who lost her young daughter, Ava, to cancer. Funari channeled her pain and the struggles of navigating Ava’s treatment into a mission to empower families in similar situations.
ACFC ensures these families have access to necessary medical treatments, secure housing, and continual support. The foundation’s efforts have since assisted
hundreds of local families and remain committed to expanding this reach.
“We are so grateful for Barro’s Pizza’s continued support,” says Funari president and founder of ACFC. “Their contribution has had a significant impact on our ability to provide critical services and support to children and their families affected by cancer. We can’t thank them enough for their commitment to our cause and for making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. We are proud to have partners like Barro’s Pizza in our community.”
Barro’s Pizza, a beacon of local enterprise and tradition, is known far and wide for its unique pizza recipe. Passed down from Grandma Angelina Barro, who migrated from Italy in the 1930s, the pizza boasts a thick crust, tangy, and sweet spiced sauce that has won over many a palate. The restaurant chain operates 47 locations in Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal Counties, and one in McKinney, Texas. In addition to their signature pizzas, the menu includes wings, salads, sandwiches, pasta, glutenfree options, desserts, and a variety of beverages. They also cater to different dining preferences with dine-in, take-out, delivery, online ordering, in-app ordering, and catering services.

Local Girl Scouts Earn Gold Award, Most Prestigious Award in the World of Girl Scouting
Photo courtesy of Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council
Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) awarded its most prestigious honor, the Gold Award, to 22 local girls this year. This distinguished award recognizes Girl Scouts in grades nine through 12 who act in their communities by tackling an issue they are passionate about and developing sustainable solutions to local, national, and global challenges.
“This year’s Gold Award honorees exemplify fantastic leadership and civic engagement by dedicating themselves to addressing important causes and taking action to make the world a better place,” says Christina Spicer, co-CEO of GSACPC. “As a nationally recognized symbol of leadership, the Gold Award is a truly remarkable achievement.”
According to Mary Mitchell, co-CEO of GSACPC, this year’s Gold Award winners tackled prominent issues faced by their communities by establishing designated mental health spaces for students on high school campuses, fighting food insecurity in Indigenous communities, building the first dog park located in a national park, designing inspirational campus murals with world-renowned artists, collecting bikes and helmets for children of military families, creating online resource platforms for youth and much more.
“The Gold Award allows Girl Scouts to showcase the problem-solving, communication and time management skills they have learned throughout their experience in the organization and prepares young leaders by giving them the confidence to succeed,” says Mitchell. “By earning the Gold Award distinction, the 22 awardees join a legacy of Girl Scouts that have used their passion and persistence to make a lasting positive impact on the community.”
Recipients of the Gold Award not only change the world for good and establish themselves as community leaders, but awardees can also take advantage of unique scholarship opportunities, are entitled to enlist at a higher pay grade when they join the military, distinguish themselves among the competition in the college admissions process, and when entering the workforce.
AMONG THE 2023 GOLD AWARD GIRL SCOUTS WINNERS ARE TWO FROM SCOTTSDALE, INCLUDING:
ELLA HAMER Girl Scouts In STEM
For her Gold Award project, “Girl Scouts in STEM,” Hamer aimed to combat the underrepresentation of women in STEM careers, especially engineering. To do this, Hamer collaborated with Pima Neighborhood Day Camp to provide STEM lessons, activities, and a presentation about women in STEM for girls in kindergarten through sixth grade. Hamer held lessons for girls with a focus on engineering principles like hands-on learning,
problem-solving and the Engineering Design Process. The goal of Hamer’s educational workshops were to set girls up for academic success and to inspire them to consider a future career in science or engineering. Survey results from participants before and after the project revealed an overall 67% increase in understanding, with the most effective classes covering 3D printing and Newtonian Physics. Hamer is now a graduate of BASIS Scottsdale and her project’s mission will continue as Pima Neighborhood Day Camp plans to continue offering girls opportunities to learn STEM during the summer.
BAILEY IANNONE Start Something Positive
To create a welcoming and loving Girl Scout experience for all girls, Iannone led a troop of girls with disabilities for two years and filmed a video series that taught how to facilitate meetings with all girls in mind and shared tips on how to foster meaningful friendships to help leaders and fellow Girl Scout Sisters form inclusive troops. Iannone also interviewed leaders, families, and girls to identify their needs and help find solutions to make programs, troop meetings, and activities accessible for everyone to participate in. Through her Gold Award project, she learned about the importance of giving back to the community by advocating and taking action to support Girl Scouts with disabilities. A Girl Scout of 13 years, she’s learned how to trust her strength, and jump into adventure with courage and positivity. Iannone plans to attend Arizona State University as a Computer Science major.

AZ529, Arizona’s Education Savings Plan and the Arizona State Treasurer’s Office are inviting kindergarten through 12th grade students across the state to take a creative photo of their future dream job for the “My PicturePerfect Career” photo contest.
Summer vacation is an ideal time for families to talk with children about what they’d like to be when they grow up and explore potential career interests with trips to Arizona libraries, museums, and other local hands-on learning resources. Taking and sharing pictures while discussing job aspirations is the goal of this summer’s “My Picture-Perfect Career” Photo Con-
test, which is open to students through 12th grade across Arizona.
Students are encouraged to take or pose for a photo representing themselves in their dream job. They can take a selfie, pose for a picture, invite friends and family into the shot or come up with their own creative ideas. The final photo just needs to visually communicate their vision of a dream job – whether the participant is in front of or behind the camera! A total of 10 winners will be selected across the state and receive $529 towards opening a new or existing AZ529 Education Savings Plan. Winners will be selected from across Arizona’s 15 counties.
The goal of the photo contest is to increase
awareness of the AZ529 Plan and pave a path for another generation of students to achieve their post-secondary dreams through proper savings. Winners will be honored by Treasurer Kimberly Yee during a special ceremony at the state capitol in September. Be advised that by submitting photos to this contest, you acknowledge and agree that the photo may be publicly displayed.
In total, $5,290 will be distributed to 10 students to assist in saving for their educational plans beyond high school. Parents or guardians of the winners will be responsible for setting up an AZ529 account if an account does not already exist. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, July 9, at 11:59 p.m.
The AZ529 Education Savings Plan offers a tax-free approach to setting money aside for college, community college, vocational training, trade school, and other educational avenues for high school graduates.
Arizona residents can receive a dollar-fordollar state tax deduction for contributions made to an AZ529 account each year, of up to $2,000 per beneficiary or $4,000 per beneficiary depending on filing status. Funds earned over time will remain tax-free when used for a wide variety of covered educational expenses. Additionally, friends and family members may add to a child’s AZ529 Plan at any time and earn the same tax benefits for themselves. For more information about AZ529, visit az529.gov. The HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center opened its doors to 40 enthusiastic high school students as they embarked on an engaging and educational journey into the realm of emergency department medicine. The event, organized by the HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Explorers Club, provided these young minds with a handson experience alongside healthcare professionals, offering invaluable insights into the dynamic field of emergency medicine.
The event was held in May at HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center, 7400 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy.
The primary goal of this educational
opportunity was to allow students to witness firsthand the intricate processes involved in a patient’s journey through the emergency department. To provide an immersive experience, the students interacted with personnel from the Scottsdale Fire Department, who showcased their firetruck, as well as the Thompson Peak Emergency Department clinical staff. Additionally, a Native Air ambulance (medical helicopter) was present, allowing students to gain insights into the role of air transportation in emergency medical situations.
The HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Explorers Club consists of high school-aged members with a deep interest in emergency medicine. Through this event, they were able to explore various career paths within this field, fostering a better understanding of the opportunities available to them.
The HonorHealth Medical Explorers Club is a student-run organization sponsored by HonorHealth. It was first established in 2015 at the HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center and has since seen 40 to 50 students engage in the club each year. Similar clubs have been established at HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center and HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center. Furthermore, a new club focusing on nursing will be launched in the upcoming fall semester.
Since its inception, over 600 students have participated in the Medical Explorers Club, which runs from August to June during the academic year. The program exposes students interested in healthcare careers to a range of handson events and learning opportunities. In addition to the emergency medicine event, this year’s activities included
dissection sessions with cardiologists, casting exercises with orthopedic surgeons, discussions on mental health led by psychologists, dissection of cow eyes with ophthalmologists, behind-thescenes tours of operating rooms, blood pressure measurement activities with ICU nursing staff, and exercises with physical therapists and occupational therapists.

RAISIN' THE ROOF WITH SCIENCE!
Unleash your inner scientist and make raisins dance in this fun, fizzy kitchen chemistry experiment!
Want a reason to play with your food? While adults may discourage us from doing so, food items can teach us a lot about science, especially chemistry. And it can be fun too! In this activity, you’ll learn about how vinegar and baking soda create a reaction and form carbon dioxide bubbles. When a raisin joins the (dance) party, the bubbles that are formed stick to the raisins and their many wrinkles, causing them to float to the top. When the raisins reach the top, bubbles tend to pop and release the gas which, in turn, allows the raisins to sink back down to the bottom.
Supplies
• 1 clear plastic cup
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 6 to 7 raisins
• Water
• Vinegar Challenge
• Fill you cup about halfway with water
• Add one teaspoon of baking soda and stir until dissolved in water
• Add 6 to 7 raisins into the cup
• Very slowly pour in vinegar until cup is three-fourths full
• Watch the raisins dance
What did you think would happen to the raisins? Did they surprise you? What happened? What do you think is causing the bubble to form? What type of gas is it? You can try this experiment with other small fruits–how do you think the reaction would
be different if you used grapes? Or a blueberry. What about a cherry tomato?
There are lots of different ways to learn about science in your very own home. Science is all around us, and as long as you ask and have supervision, it is great to be curious about what other experiments you can conduct. Visit azscience.org and find experiments just like this!

Cover Story Going solar?
Here's what you need to know.
By Shay Moser
Solar panels are a lot less expensive than they were a decade ago. But they’re still an investment and determining whether you can install a system can be daunting — something Val Berechet learned firsthand.
His journey with solar started in 2014 when he invested in a system for his home that wasn't correctly installed. While permits and inspections were delayed over eight months, he learned the ins and outs of solar installation, let go of the company installing his system, and reinstalled it himself. In 2015, Berechet put his frustrating experience into co-founding Sunsolar Solutions and has since helped more than 10,000 homeowners go solar by providing education, honest quotes, reputable installations, and transparency.
Berechet says people tend to hold a few common misconceptions about solar panels, which prevent them from making sound financial decisions.
"We help homeowners understand how solar panels work, choose a system that meets their needs, and know what to expect," says Berechet, president and CEO of Sunsolar Solutions. "Unfortunately, many companies set the wrong expectations or
sell smaller, cheaper systems while telling the homeowner it will perform like a larger system. This gives our industry a black eye."
As chairman of the Consumer Protection Committee for the AriSEIA, the Arizona chapter of the national Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), Berechet helps educate the public and key decision-makers about solar, storage technologies, electrification, and energy efficiency. The nonprofit 501(c)(6) trade organization also focuses on promoting professionalism within the industry and helping create and protect public policies that support the sector and its customers.
“A lot of new companies that come from out of state are not educated about the market, such as how SRP and APS utility companies work with solar,” says Berechet. “It's more complex here than it is in other states. There will be bad apples in every industry, but I don't think that's the issue. A lot of it is misinformation and miseducation on the sales side.”
Berechet says homeowners can also help by asking the right questions, such as “How will my utility bill be impacted after I go solar?” He stresses that technology and resources to accurately estimate the effects of solar are available today, and homeowners
should not accept vague answers when looking into solar.
Also, many solar companies don’t install the solar panels they sell, continues Berechet. Sunsolar Solutions sells and installs, providing multiple design options and sharing the total cost upfront so customers can pick the best system for their budget.
“Because we are local and hands-on, we walk the customer through the entire process and handle every aspect of installation,” Berechet says. “Our customers know what to expect because we ensure our sales reps are properly educated and explain it well.”
Some of the frequent expectations Sunsolar Solutions customers have, says Berechet, include grid reliance, energy output, roof impact, weather and climate requirements, the lifespan of solar panels, and the return on investment.
While the answers can be complicated, Sunsolar Solutions helps customers understand everything from the get-go — from how many solar panels are needed to meet energy usage to factors about the roof, such as age and tree cover.
“One of the important things in our process is to
22 • June/July 2023 • SCOTTSDALE NORTH NEWS myhyperlocalnews.com
get the correct information from the homeowner,” Berechet explains. “We need to see customers’ electric bills or at least get the last 12 months of electric usage because solar systems are built around how much power a house uses.”
Once Sunsolar Solutions understands a customer’s home’s energy usage, it puts together a detailed quote, including incentives.
Berechet says there are federal and state tax incentives to offset the upfront costs, which Sunsolar Solutions’ energy consultants ensure customers don’t miss if they qualify. For instance, the Federal Solar Tax Credit allows eligible homeowners to reduce the taxes they owe by up to 30% of their solar panel installation cost from their federal income taxes. If the homeowner already paid their taxes through their employer’s W2 withholding, they’ll receive a check back from the IRS. Consider state incentives, too, like in the Valley, which provides a 25% tax credit, up to $1,000, for purchased systems.
After Sunsolar Solutions does a site survey, it puts together an engineering plan, gets permits from the city or county, and seeks approval from the utility company. Then it’s time for the system to be installed.
“We're big on installing things the right way, using the right equipment and installation methods,” Berechet says. “We even have an internal quality control specialist that checks the system post-install.”
If Sunsolar Systems’ quality control specialist approves the installation, the city is called to do its inspection. If everything looks good, Berechet says they file a few remaining documents with the utility company, and then, after that, the system gets turned on.
“It depends where you live; if you live in a city where the permitting process is quicker, installation can be completed within a matter of weeks, and the entire process is done within two months,” Berechet says.
Throughout the entire project, Sunsolar Solutions customers have a dedicated project specialist as their point of contact who answers questions and keeps them updated about the timeline.
Valley residents looking into solar can soon make the Consumer Protection Committee of the AriSEIA their point of contact. One of its significant initiatives, says Berechet, is ensuring consumers are educated so they can protect themselves by asking the right questions about it. Hello Neighbor! Neighbors
HI, MY NAME IS… Andy Price and I lead the Grand Canyon Council as it delivers programs of Boy Scouts of America throughout much of the state of Arizona.
I’VE LIVED IN SCOTTSDALE FOR MORE THAN FOUR YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… there is no greater place for hiking and golf! The combination of so much public land, great golf, great roads, and weather make Scottsdale paradise for anyone who enjoys being outside.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… working with a large team of community leaders, Scouting volunteers, and employees to support young people through Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring programs of Grand Canyon Council.
MY FAMILY IS… very important to me, and I work hard every day to support them.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… time spent outdoors, whether I’m hiking, fly fishing, or golfing. I’m happiest outdoors.
MY TWO FAVORITE MOVIES I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY ARE… “Fargo” and “Star Wars.” Very different, I know! But “Star Wars” was the universe of my childhood – who didn’t love Luke and Leia? And “Fargo” is quirky and so much fun!
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… an attorney, but I figured out being a Boy Scout leader is WAY more fun! I get paid to work with superb people who care about kids, and I even get paid to spend time at camp.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “Bohemian Rhapsody.” “Wayne’s World” for the win!
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… probably my wife cracking a joke at my expense.
THE PERFECT DAY… starts with a great cup of coffee and trip to the gym, followed by time outdoors with family and friends.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… the Boy Scouts! Seriously, so much of my world revolves around scouting. Second, I would add Trout Unlimited. The work TU does on behalf of clean waterways supports outdoor recreation, healthy environments, and a cleaner world.
MY LIFE IS… awfully busy, but in a good way. Every night I flop into bed ready for rest.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… the time I got to spend with grandparents when I was a kid learning about what their lives were like during the Great Depression and serving in World War II.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… split between a week in Maui and a week at St. Andrews on the Old Course.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… when you make a decision, consider the impact of that decision, but also consider the impact beyond that – the ‘second level impact.’

Belgravia Group Breaks Ground on Portico in North Scottsdale
Luxury condominium community from Chicago real estate developer moves into new phase with nearly 50% of homes sold.
Photo and rendering courtesy of Belgravia Group
Belgravia Group, Chicago’s award-winning real estate developer, has announced the groundbreaking of Portico, the highly anticipated luxury condominium community featuring 112 homes located just northeast of Scottsdale Road and the Loop 101.
Sales of the two-, three-, and four-bedroom condominiums have been strong, with nearly 50% of the project already sold. Initial deliveries are expected in late summer 2024.
“We’re delighted by the response to Portico, which has exceeded our expectations,” says Jonathan McCulloch, CEO of Belgravia Group. “To have a project nearly half sold prior to breaking ground speaks to the desirability of our location, quality of product, and the overall strength of the Scottsdale market. With construction underway, our buyers will soon work one-on-one with
our in-house design team to personalize their home from an extensive catalog of fixtures and materials. “This is what makes new construction, and buying early, such a great benefit – these buyers now get to make these homes their own.”
Belgravia Group recently received the 2023 Phoenix Agents’ Choice Award for Multi-Family Project of the Year for Portico. The condominiums in this private gated community, designed by the award-winning international architecture firm KTGY, are currently priced from the $900’s to $2 million, and offer up to 2,768 square-feet of luxurious indoor living space along with generous private terraces. The community’s amenities include an upscale clubhouse, outdoor pool and spa, and state-of-the-art fitness center.
The McDowell Mountains serve as a stunning backdrop to the development, which is conveniently nestled in the Scottsdale Road and 101 luxury corridor. Portico residents will have exceptional access to the dining,
shopping, and lifestyle amenities in the immediate North Scottsdale area.
Cambridge Properties is the brokerage leading the sales for Portico.
“I wish we could bottle the magic we have experienced with Portico,” says CEO and President of Cambridge Properties Keith Mishkin. “There’s no doubt that the demand for luxury property is high in North Scottsdale, and with Portico being such a special and unique community for the area, we believe the sales momentum will continue.”
Portico is a vital component of DMB’s One Scottsdale masterplan development, which, upon completion, is expected to include up to 2.8 million square feet of retail and office space, 2,000 residential units and 400 hotel rooms.

The Scottsdale North Saga: Uncover What Makes It Truly Great!
By Scott Gaertner, Associate Broker
Welcome to Scottsdale North, where we’re more than just Saguaros and sunsets! Recently, someone threw a question my way: “Why is Scottsdale North so popular with baby boomers?” This question came after they found out that our main zip code boasts the highest percentage of baby boomers in the entire United States. As someone who’s sold real estate here for over 30 years AND being a baby boomer myself, I had to chuckle. Is it really that hard to figure out?
But it got me thinking. How do we explain to folks who don’t know what makes Scottsdale North a place so attractive to boomers or anyone else for that matter? Here are some of my thoughts:
First up, let’s talk about our rural charm. Living in Scottsdale North is like being on a permanent vacation, away from the city’s hustle and bustle. Our prime location near the mountains blesses us with the elevation to have the lush Sonoran Desert vegetation, iconic saguaros, and dark starry nights so clear you’ll think you’ve crash-landed in a planetarium.
Scottsdale North is like that kid in school who was both the quarterback and the
chess club champion – we’ve got the best of both worlds. We’re close enough to the city to enjoy its perks, but far enough to savor the tranquility of the wilderness. Here, you can enjoy stunning mountain views without a skyscraper in sight, unless you count those towering saguaros!
Next up, is our active lifestyle. Let’s face it, we boomers might have a few gray hairs, but we refuse to act our age! We still think we’re in our 30s, and here we have enough outdoor activities to keep our illusion alive. With millions of acres of national forest and lakes nearby, we can hike, bike, swim, or just enjoy the wildlife. And Scottsdale North is the promised land of lifestyle communities - basically, Disneyland for adults! From golf and tennis to fitness and dining, pickleball, and swimming, these guardgated communities offer activities that enable new residents to easily connect with like-minded individuals. Card clubs for poker faces, religious study groups for the heaven-bound, hiking clubs for trailblazers, and dinner groups for the food-obsessed. And with our fitness classes and seasonal social events, you’ll make so many new friends you’ll need a bigger address book!
Got a shopping addiction? Well, get ready, because Fashion Square, Kierland Commons, and Desert Ridge are about
to make your credit cards sweat. These shopping paradises are so lavish, they’d make a Kardashian gasp, ‘Wait, is this place for real?’”
Not a fan of big box stores? We have you covered. The local business scene is thriving with many small businesses owned by locals deeply invested in the community. And you foodies are in for a treat. Our gastronomic scene is as diverse as a chef’s spice rack - you could chow down at a different restaurant every night for years, and still not taste everything we have to offer!
And to you Gen Xers and millennials! Before you write us off as a place that rolls up the sidewalks at sundown, take note. We’ve got more than just 5 p.m. dinner deals and bingo marathons. We’re talking about cutthroat pickleball tournaments that’d put Wimbledon to shame and ‘Desert Bloom’ hikes that are Instagram goldmines. And guess what? We’re seeing a trendy BIG surge of your kind landing here - it’s like the 90’s grunge scene but with less flannel and more sunblock. C’mon down!
And finally, Scottsdale North is the perfect place for a fresh start. This isn’t Boston where if your family tree isn’t a giant Sequoia, you have no chance of fitting in. We’re like a giant melting pot where everyone’s from somewhere else, and we’re all looking to make
new friends. Just ask the Johnsons, our Californian imports, who, within a year, have become the book club gurus and potluck royalty.
So, whether you’re a boomer, a Gen Xer, a millennial, or even a cactus trying to tap into Wi-Fi, we’d love to hear your Scottsdale North sagas. Swing by our ‘Connecting Scottsdale North’ Facebook page and share your adventures. Why did you come here, and what hidden gems have you found? Because in the end, it’s not just our sun-soaked saguaros, but all you desert dynamos that make Scottsdale North the crown jewel of the desert!
So come on, let’s put the ‘social’ back in social media. We can’t wait to be awed by your stories so the best story will get a $100 Scottsdale North Gift card!

D-Backs Score a Grand Slam with 100-Year-Old Hospice Patient
By Lin Sue Flood
Photos courtesy of Hospice of the Valley
Growing up in the Babe Ruth era, Myra Blaker has been a lifelong baseball fan. After moving to Phoenix from Chicago, she pledged loyalty to her hometown Arizona Diamondbacks — even posting their game schedule on her front door. In the weeks leading up to their home opener at Chase Field, all she talked about was baseball.
As a surprise, Blaker’s Hospice of the Valley care team made a great play — pitching her as the inaugural guest of D-Backs Wishes for Seniors. This special program grants once-in-a-lifetime experiences to deserving seniors and is sponsored by the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and Arizona Complete Health.
“We are so honored to partner with the devoted nurses and social workers at Hospice of the Valley to deliver these incredible experiences,” says Debbie Castaldo,
D-Backs’ senior VP for Corporate & Community Impact. “It was wonderful to see Myra rooting for her team. She was living her best life!”
On the night of the game, the team covered all the bases. Blaker, who turns 101 in September, got the VIP treatment — premium parking, great seats, free food and drinks, including a beer she insisted on finishing! Hospice of the Valley nurse Kelly McGovern and social worker Renee Adams came along to monitor her oxygen and make sure Blaker had the time of her life. Paul Piperata, her caregiver at Weyrich Health Care Center in Scottsdale, also joined the fun, and kindly arranged for a seven-passenger van with wheelchair access.
As they took their seats near the on-deck circle, Blaker whispered, “Look how close we are! We can even see what they keep in their pockets!”
Blaker’s daughter, Laura, says she couldn’t remember
seeing her mom so excited. “The D-Backs hit a homerun with Mom. She loved every single minute and never stopped smiling!”
About the fifth inning, McGovern started to wonder if the centenarian might want to leave early. “Not a chance,” Blaker insisted. “I won’t miss a single play!” Just when the baseball fanatic thought nothing could top the magical evening, D-Backs legend Luis Gonzalez came by to visit. “I can’t believe they are making such a fuss over me!” she gushes.
“She will never forget this,” says Adams. “At Hospice of the Valley, we’re honored to help make our patients’ dreams come true. We are so grateful to be part of this tremendous night.”
Contact the team to learn more about the D-backs Wishes for Seniors program. To learn more about Hospice of the Valley, call (602) 530-6900 or visit hov.org.

The Life Estate in Estate Planning
By Libby Banks, the Law Office of Libby Banks, PLLC
Often, a client asks me if we can give a life estate in a home to a beneficiary. The client wants to allow a loved one to occupy the home they are living in, even after the client passes away. The intent is to provide a home for their loved one without giving them complete ownership of the home.
A life estate is what it says: ownership of a property for the entire life of the beneficiary, even if they no longer can or want to live in the home. The life estate may not be what the client really wants. An alternative we offer is the right to occupy the home while the home is held in an Occupancy Trust.
The Occupancy Trust allows the client to tailor the terms according to their wishes. The Trust contains the terms that govern the loved one’s right to occupy the house. It might provide that the occupant must pay for all maintenance, utilities, taxes, insurance, and other expenses of the home while the occupant lives there, or the trust may include money for payment of all those expenses.
The Occupancy Trust can provide for how long the occupant may stay in the home. It can include a fixed length of time or allow the occupant to stay until they pass or can no longer live in the home. A right of occupancy is similar to a life estate, but the occupant cannot sell or transfer their interest in the property
like a life estate beneficiary can, and the rights of the beneficiary can before their death.
HERE ARE TWO EXAMPLES OF SITUATIONS USING THE OCCUPANCY TRUST FOR PLANNING:
John has a home in Phoenix, where his special needs brother Andy lives with him. John wants to provide a place for Andy for as long as Andy is able to live independently. John’s revocable trust states that on his passing, the house and a certain sum of money will be held in an Occupancy Trust for Andy. Upon Andy’s passing, or when he is no longer able to live there, the home is to be sold and the proceeds distributed to John’s two children.
Joan owns a home where she lives with her second husband. Joan wants her husband to have time to decide his next steps if she passes first. Her trust provides for an occupancy trust for her current husband, allowing him two years to live there. Upon her husband vacating the property it will be sold, and the proceeds distributed to named beneficiaries.
The Occupancy Trust can provide great flexibility for you if you are concerned about providing for a spouse or other loved one who is living with you. If you have a situation that might merit this planning, we can work through the terms of a plan that will fit you and your loved one perfectly. Call the Law Office of Libby Banks at 602-375-6752 or check out our website at libbybanks.com.

Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing Offer Resources, Support for Seniors with Hearing Loss
By Sherri Collins
Most of us know someone who has hearing loss. Some of you may be experiencing hearing loss yourself. Oftentimes people dismiss signs of hearing loss as “no big deal.” In reality, hearing loss is a very big deal. Hearing loss can impact all the areas of your life, including relationships, health, and safety. It can also be linked to depression and memory loss, an early indicator of dementia.
While the likelihood of developing dementia exists, there are ways to prevent hearing loss:
• Protect your ears. Keep music or TV volumes low, especially when you are wearing headphones. If you have headphones on and someone else can hear your music, the volume is too high.
• Don’t ignore your hearing loss. If you are experiencing any symptoms of hearing loss, see a hearing healthcare professional right away to start combating the symptoms.
• Tackle the hearing loss head on. Don’t assume hearing loss will go away on its own. It won’t. The sooner you get assistance with your hearing loss, the more likely you are to possibly prevent early dementia.
• Utilize technology. If you have a hearing aid, wear it as much as possible. You can also consider other hearing interventions including cochlear implants, assistive listening devices, amplified telephones, or captioning.
ACCESS TO RESOURCES
As you begin to age, access to valuable resources is critically
important. However, an Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (ACDHH) survey found that older adults report that they are concerned with where to find these resources. Survey respondents indicated that they need information on general health and wellness as well as information on memory loss and dementia, pharmacy benefits, and access to mental health services. Other important resources mentioned included assistance with maintaining their independence, access to caregivers fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), and access to attorneys and estate planners.
As such, ACDHH is launching its Age of Access initiative designed to be a one-stop destination for resources, information, and programming for Arizona’s older adults who are deaf or experiencing hearing loss. An online survey is in the field right now to gain additional information regarding the needs of the community and how best to provide access to these resources. Take it here: https://bit.ly/acdhhsenior.
Respondents that participated in preliminary research conducted by Gallaudet University indicated that there is a lack of access to home health care aides (caregivers) that can sign or have awareness about deaf people’s needs. Therefore, in the fall of 2023, ACDHH, in partnership with the university, will conduct focus groups on this as well.
Sherri Collins is the executive director for the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing. For more information, visit acdhh.org.

Entertainment Movie Reviews and Upcoming Release Dates
By Tony Beal IN THEATERS
“Evil Dead Rise”
A small family is trapped in their apartment building when a demonic force is unleashed with the ability to possess.
While the “Evil Dead” series may not be a regular topic of conversation among the general public, its deep roots in the horror genre and accessibility for newcomers make it truly special. “Rise” continues this legacy, embracing the more serious tone of the original film and the 2013 iteration, while maintaining the distinctive excess of content and action that sets the series apart. This is a hard-hitting piece that conveys the pain and terror of its characters in a way that will make you cringe. Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan deliver stunning performances as sisters, with Sutherland’s compelling portrayal of a possessed character and Sullivan’s heroic essence reminiscent of Ash and Mia, while also bringing motherhood themes into focus. The film keeps you on the edge of your seat, holding nothing back, which is a major plus. It stands as a worthy addition to one of the greatest horror series of all time.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”
The Guardians must face their greatest enemy yet to save one of their own.
James Gunn is a constant reminder of the creative possibilities inherent in the comic book film genre. Despite certain shortcomings, the third installment of his Guardians saga is among his most compelling work to date. Gunn escalates the level of intense action and mature content in a way that complements the overall narrative and tone, while still harmonizing with the previous films. It’s the empathetic core of the story that keeps us invested, as the cast subtly conveys their characters’ growth through nuanced changes in their movements and vocal inflections. Importantly, the film remains clear about its identity and effectively concludes the overarching themes of the trilogy. It’s a truly remarkable piece.
“Hypnotic”
A detective uncovers a supernatural element in the search for his daughter.
“Hypnotic” is a film that, despite having ample talent both on-screen and behind the scenes, struggles to achieve its ultimate, yet confused, objective. Director Robert Rodriguez, known for infusing style and charisma into his low-budget projects, seems to fall short here, with the film’s low-cost aesthetic lacking the charm of his previous works. The cast, including
usually impressive actors like Ben Affleck and Alice Braga, appear disengaged or unenthusiastic about the story, though William Fitchner gives a notably overthe-top performance. The film aims for complexity in its structure but ends up being more incoherent and confusing, and its attempts to draw parallels with filmmaking feel underdeveloped. There’s a glimmer of an intriguing concept in the third act, but it’s undermined by a hurried conclusion. Overall, it’s an unfortunate squandering of potential and talent.
satisfy both hardcore fans and casual viewers, even though the ending may leave some yearning for more.

Dom and his family’s past actions come back to haunt them, with a new foe hellbent on revenge.
By now, fans know what to expect from the “Fast & Furious” franchise, and “Fast X” delivers the anticipated thrills, albeit in a somewhat overstuffed package. The consistently strong performers (Diesel, Rodriguez, Kang) maintain their high standards, while others (Ludacris, Gibson) have yet to master their craft, even after two decades. The film’s abrupt shifts between narratives, some of which appear only briefly before a lengthy absence, may disrupt its flow. Nevertheless, the film’s charisma and action sequences help propel it forward. In terms of the latter, Louis Leterrier masterfully orchestrates some of the series’ most audacious stunts, managing to balance fight scenes, varied vehicle chases, and shootouts to prevent repetition during the film’s extensive run time of nearly two and a half hours. The editing truly shines in these moments, producing a solid action film that should

North Scottsdale’s Zamora Acupuncture
Offers Hope for Back Pain and Nerve Pain Sufferers, Even After Failed Surgeries
For those who have been struggling with chronic back pain or nerve pain, even after undergoing unsuccessful back surgery, there’s a beacon of hope in North Scottsdale: Zamora Acupuncture.
Dr. Kourtney Zamora, a Doctor of Acupuncture, is compassionate and loves what she does. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Dr. Zamora later earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in Acupuncture and is board certified through the NCCAOM. She combines evidence-based traditional Chinese acupuncture with FDA-approved modern technology to help decrease pain levels. Many of her patients have undergone surgery, tried multiple medications, physical therapy, and injections, but still suffer from conditions such as back pain, peripheral neuropathy, and sciatic pain. We sat down with Dr. Zamora to learn more about Zamora Acupuncture.
SNN: What services do you offer that are unique?
KZ: I provide services for people who have been in pain for a long time. People come in with back pain, peripheral neuropathy, sciatic pain, and more. I provide evidence-based traditional Chinese acupuncture with modern technology that has been FDA approved to decrease pain. I use my experience in healthcare to provide exceptional care. Often, the patients that I see have already tried everything else. They have done surgery, tried various medications, physical therapy, injections, and more. Many people think they are too far gone in terms of their pain. In many cases, this can lead to depression because they are unable to get out and enjoy life.
I am here to tell you that there is hope for a more pain-free life.
SNN: Is there hope for someone that’s had back surgery and still in pain?
KZ: Yes. I have treated many patients with pain after surgery successfully. We call this Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS). The reality is that not every surgery is successful. Many times, patients have had multiple surgeries without success or with partial success.
SNN: If someone is not eligible for surgery due to weight or age, can you help them?
KZ: Absolutely. Acupuncture is a pain management option for these types of patients. I treat patients of all sizes and ages. Once pain levels decrease with acupuncture, many patients become more active and are able to lose weight easier. So that’s a very positive outcome! Additionally, with natural aging, there is no reason to suffer in pain. The treatments I provide can help decrease pain, even in cases of severe arthritis.
If you are suffering in pain, schedule a complimentary consultation at Zamora Acupuncture to discuss your condition. It’s never too late to start your journey to better health.
Zamora Acupuncture is located at 17787 N. Perimeter Dr., Suite A101, in Scottsdale. Learn more at www. AZacu.com. Call for a complimentary consultation 480-300-5767.
