e thought our readers would be interested in information we gleaned from the last Desert Ridge Community Association’s (DRCA) bi-monthly coffee with Terrance Smith, our Community General Manager and Doug Dixon, our longtime President. By the way, both gentlemen, the staff of DRCA and the Community Association Board deserve a huge round of applause from all Desert Ridge residents for their tireless efforts in keeping our community beautiful; and for managing the budget so efficiently that we have not had an increase in our bi-annual HOA dues since 2003. That’s unheard of, as many
HOA’s automatically raise their dues annually. Keep in mind that this information is thought to be accurate, but dates and events are always subject to change. • DR HORTON has purchased SuperBlock 1 on the east side of 56th St. north of Deer Valley, beyond the two existing apartment buildings. • Phase I of this project (of three) will be gated – construction to begin by early 2019. • The builder is required to bring 56th St. through to Pinnacle Peak by April of 2020. • No name or price range have been published for this community, but it will have 903 homes total; 680 will be single family dwellings and the remaining will be multi-family units

There is no published date for that, so it could be a few years off. • Funding to control the Flood Districts in this area has been provided. • Eventually a new high school will open off of 64th St. & Mayo Blvd. This is also several years out. • As we’ve all seen, growth in new housing builds are upon us.
