SELECT WORKS 2019-2023
Coming from a first generation family, I was always encouraged to work hard, to speak up for myself. However, I am not the greatest with words. Sometimes my tongue tends to spew out the words before I can even comprehend what I said.
I would find it much easier to just let my work speak for me. I want to create imaginable things that could do all the speaking for me. Often, I find myself drawing, my mind running nonstop of all the possibilities I can create. If I can’t properly put it into words, why not let my drawings, ideas, or designs do it for me?
When I was in middle school, we had to write about what we wanted our future careers to be. English wasn’t always my best subject, but somehow, math was. I understood numbers more than the words of a book. I knew the moment I found architecture was a mixture of STEM with a touch of art, I was a goner.
That was also my first time I got an A+ on an English paper.
I know that I am still growing, not only with my work, but as a human. I know I can push myself to be the greatest that I can be, to make my own mark onto the world.

This was the year we finally got to use revit to our advantage. Our assignment was to create unit plans of residential homes where we had to choose different variations of the given floor plates that offer challenges and opportunities. The challenge was having party walls within our plans. This is my attempt to tackle the challenge.

The Collective that would be located on S Harris Drive located in Mesa, Arizona is a housing project proposal that was designed with the intent of maintaining the familiar qualities of suburban living present in the existing neighborhood with an added high density, split level housing characteristic. The project was developed around the idea of respecting the water detention attribute of our site and using that challenge to our advantage by creating a space in which a strong sense of community can flourish. There are a total of 28 units on the site which we have catered towards family living based on the area’s demographics. The site also hosts a green-roofed store lot that faces a communal garden area which would house a cafe market serving as a community gathering spot and amenity within walkable distance.

To conclude, our project, is designed with the intent of maintaining the familiar suburban layout of the existing neighborhood with an added high density characteristic It was also organized to obtain optimal sun shading and exposure
In light of building with the site in mind, The Collective is a project that was developed around the idea of respecting the challenge of maintaining the water detention element of our site and using that to our advantage by creating a space in which a strong sense of community can flourish
Individual Libraries are part of an infrastructure of institutions that we rely on as a society. It is at once an element of an information infrastructure, but it also an important civic institution that enables and strengthens our society and sense of community. Despite the profound changes to how information is held and disseminated, libraries have evolved to remain vital as institutions. This is my take.

This design is a hybrid professional-community performance lab for the Phoenix Theater Company, a thriving professional theater integral to our city’s 20th century arts development and ongoing performing arts excellence. Phoenix Theatre Company is the largest-producing regional theater company in the valley. I have had the opportunity to work with them to create a design proposal for a potential building addition. Taking in everything that was requested,as well as visiting the site in person,The Spiral came to be. What really stuck out was the hard work from the people that come from different backgrounds who and come together to create this amazing art. In which we may call theatre. It is really important to showcase not only the final product of what is months worth of planning and as well as building, but also the process. Community was also a big thing. What is needed is an area for different outdoor events or even a resting area that is properly suited for the location’s climate. The Spiral Tower has a simple circulation of a spiral effect, keeping everything in one building, but on different floors.

Corporate America architecture usually has a lack of aesthetic value, character, and creativity. The buildings are designed to be functional and efficient, with little consideration for their impact on the environment or their surroundings. Many of these buildings are large, boxy, and featureless, lacking any distinctive features or architectural style. The focus on maximizing profits and minimizing costs often leads to buildings that are cheaply constructed and lack durability. The construction of such buildings may result in the destruction of historical structures, neighborhoods, and communities.
The usage of a single material, even if it is the most prominent, can improve the durability and longevity of the building’s exterior. When a single material is used, it is easier to maintain and repair. It can be more environmentally sustainable than using multiple materials. This is because it reduces the need for energy-intensive manufacturing processes and transportation, and it simplifies the recycling or disposal process at the end of the building’s life. In this case, I wanted to create images/designs that take over that block-y shape of a building and create something totally new.

I was a bit hesitant when using the AI tool. How was I supposed to create a building with words? The process was an interesting one to say the least, creating hundreds and hundreds of images just to get the right one. I came to love using the AI tool. Sometimes I find myself struggling to put my ideas onto paper. I can find myself staring at a screen for hours just because a simple design doesn’t look the same as the picture in my mind. Using the AI, I came close to what I wanted, in a fraction of the time. Of course, this is not a replacement for design, but I see it more as a tool just as any design program.
These projects are 3D models I created from pre-existing buildings that I had from case study assignments. I wanted to include these to showcase my experience with the modeling program, revit.
