This design is a hybrid professional-community performance lab for the Phoenix Theater Company, a thriving professional theater integral to our city’s 20th century arts development and ongoing performing arts excellence. Phoenix Theatre Company is the largest-producing regional theater company in the valley. I have had the opportunity to work with them to create a design proposal for a potential building addition. Taking in everything that was requested,as well as visiting the site in person,The Spiral came to be. What really stuck out was the hard work from the people that come from different backgrounds who and come together to create this amazing art. In which we may call theatre. It is really important to showcase not only the final product of what is months worth of planning and as well as building,but also the process. Community was also a big thing. What is needed is an area for different outdoor events or even a resting area that is properly suited for the location’s climate. The Spiral Tower has a simple circulation of a spiral effect,keeping everything in one building,but on different floors.

THE WORLD OF AI: SKINS

Corporate America architecture usually has a lack of aesthetic value, character, and creativity. The buildings are designed to be functional and efficient, with little consideration for their impact on the environment or their surroundings. Many of these buildings are large, boxy, and featureless, lacking any distinctive features or architectural style. The focus on maximizing profits and minimizing costs often leads to buildings that are cheaply constructed and lack durability. The construction of such buildings may result in the destruction of historical structures, neighborhoods, and communities.

The usage of a single material, even if it is the most prominent, can improve the durability and longevity of the building’s exterior. When a single material is used, it is easier to maintain and repair. It can be more environmentally sustainable than using multiple materials. This is because it reduces the need for energy-intensive manufacturing processes and transportation, and it simplifies the recycling or disposal process at the end of the building’s life. In this case, I wanted to create images/designs that take over that block-y shape of a building and create something totally new.

I was a bit hesitant when using the AI tool. How was I supposed to create a building with words? The process was an interesting one to say the least, creating hundreds and hundreds of images just to get the right one. I came to love using the AI tool. Sometimes I find myself struggling to put my ideas onto paper. I can find myself staring at a screen for hours just because a simple design doesn’t look the same as the picture in my mind. Using the AI, I came close to what I wanted, in a fraction of the time. Of course, this is not a replacement for design, but I see it more as a tool just as any design program.
