1 Defining Continuous Learning in the 21st Century Classroom Module
In this module, we will discuss the heart of online and continuous learning and will introduce eDL’s definition of this concept to ensure a common foundation is established.
2 Building a Strong Community in Your Virtual Classroom Module
In this module, we will focus on developing a strong foundation for your online learning environment. Developing a safe, engaging feeling of community is an essential component in every online course, and we will focus on ways you can establish this using an online forum. We will also discuss ways to create student buy-in and accountability and how teachers can create presence.
3 Creating Student-Centered Online Learning Module
This module will discuss ways to help you best support your students in an online environment. We will explore Blended Learning principles, differentiation, collaboration tools and techniques, and ways to spot students who need a little extra help.
4 Social Emotional Learning in an Online Environment Module
In this module, we will discuss the crucial nature of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in a virtual environment. We will define SEL, explore ways to incorporate SEL into an eDL course, and identify activities you can work into your daily and/or weekly teaching routine.
5 Online and Continuous Learning in Action Module
In this final module, we will discuss what a real first day, first week, first month, and beyond could look like. This will allow teachers to move beyond the hypothetical and into the tangible with implementation plans and activities.
