At 101 Beer Kitchen, co-founders Thad and Jess Kittrell want you to feel right at home. They believe every neighborhood needs a welcoming gathering spot for friends and families that is unpretentious, uncomplicated and uncommon. Here you can get a fabulous chef-driven meal that matches the season— and the beer. "Pairing food and beer is something that we're passionate about," says Jess, adding that the contrasting and complementary flavor combinations are endless.
While Beer might be first in the name, Jess emphasizes that the kitchen is the heart of the operation. Chef Thad Kittrell, a Muncie, Indiana native, and his culinary team take advantage of fresh, local ingredients whenever possible, making the summer months full of exciting menu additions. Jess suggests the tuna and avocado toast, with chilled Creole tuna, served rare on toasted brioche with spring vegetables, red pepper sauce, lemon mayo and ginger vinaigrette. She loves it paired with the bar's handcrafted tropical paloma, accentuating the flavors perfectly. The crispy lemon chicken is another summer standout, especially with Sun King's Pachanga, a local, Mexican-style lager with a crisp malt flavor and thirst-quenching character to balance the parmesan-breaded chicken breast.
Both Indy locations (found in The Yard at Fishers District and in the Proscenium in Carmel) offer impressive patio seating with shaded, open-air tables and a four-season sunroom. In Carmel, individual fireplace nooks are perfect for enjoying a beer under the stars.

Stop by 101 Beer Kitchen for lunch and dinner throughout the week and for brunch on the weekends. You’ll find them located at 1200 S. Rangeline Road in Carmel and 9708 District North Drive in Fishers. For more information, menus and reservations, visit 101beerkitchen.com and follow @101beerkitchenindy on Instagram.
