DIMENSION OF AUTONOMY AND ORIENTATION

A number of operational sheets relating to this dimension are proposed here for the four areas of interest:

1.Personal autonomy

2.Social autonomy

3.Motor-praxic dimension

4.Sensory dimension.

Specifically, we are going to work on the aspects outlined in the table below. Although the sheets are subdivided in relation to specific areas of work, they are to be understood and used with a view to transversality, mutual complementarity and close interconnection with the main reference dimension.

Objectives/Goals

Learning to take care of oneself and one’s health

Reflecting on aspects of living together in society

Acquiring, consolidating and generalising the autonomies learnt

Social autonomy (p. 145)

Fostering interaction and interpersonal relationships

Fostering the development of the individual, the ability to take responsibility and promoting full participation within the social context

Promoting the development and generalisation of various social autonomies

Motor-praxic dimension (p. 150)

Developing coordination

Improving motor coordination

Strengthening motor patterns

Strengthen simple and complex exercises

YOUR SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS

Considering your relationship with your classmates, try to determine their greater or lesser distance from you. Use the drawing below to perform this task. Write your name in the middle circle and your classmates’ initials in the other circles. The circles will be closer to your name the better your relationship with them.

Observe now the design you have obtained. Are they more the classmates you feel close to you or those you dislike or are indifferent to?

MOTOR CREATIVITY

Description of the activity

The ball is thrown against a wall and caught in the following ways:

1. throw and catch with two hands;

2. throw and catch with one hand only;

3. throw with the left hand and catch with the right (or vice versa);

4. catch after a bounce on the ground with the palm of the hand facing upwards;

5. catch after a bounce on the ground with the palm of the hand facing downwards

6. resume ‘scissor’ (crossed hands);

7. resume ‘tulip’ wrists together, hands open upwards;

8. throw and catch in ‘arc’: arms are raised above the head and curved, the ball passes from one hand to the other

9. throw the ball under the right (or left) arm and catch;

10. throw with two hands, turn quickly and resume with turned shoulders;

11. turn your back to the wall, bend over, throw the ball through spread legs, turn around and catch with hands

12. throw and catch the ball in time to the music;

13. throw the ball by passing it behind your back and catch it again at will.

The activity develops psychomotor creativity, attention, concentration and memory (game variant).

Game variant

Pupils in a line proceed one at a time throwing and catching the ball, making different throws and catches than the previous pupil, repeating the round at least a couple of times. The pupils themselves in this variation have the opportunity to increase the difficulty of the game.
