Finalmente Novembre è arrivato. Siamo pronti ad emozionarci e provare nuove sensazioni insieme.

Siamo pronti all’edizione 2022 della Hoka Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte, il grande contenitore di colore, calore, gioia, sport, eventi. In una parola: emozioni.

Il 2022 sta rappresentando per molti ambiti la vera ripartenza per lasciarsi il Covid alle spalle, senza per questo sottovalutarne ogni aspetto, ed anche Ravenna Runners Club è pronta a tornare per strada con il suo caleidoscopio di manifestazioni e appuntamenti che animeranno il week-end dall’ 11 al 13 novembre.

Ogni maxi contenitore che si rispetti contiene tante cose, in questo caso tanti appuntamenti. Dal venerdì pomeriggio l’apertura dell’Expo Marathon Village, quest’anno totalmente rinnovato e allestito al Pala de André con un assortita varietà di Street Food. Al sabato mattina, nel piazzale antistante il Palasport, la EasyCoop Family Run con 2 km per famiglie, nonne, zii e istituti scolastici del territorio. A seguire la carovana chiassosa e colorata della Dogs & Run, con cani e le loro famiglie gli uni al fianco degli altri.

Domenica 13 il giorno che tutti attendono. Un piccolo, ma dal significato importantissimo, assaggio iniziale con Correndo Senza Frontiere riservato ai diversamente abili ed ai loro accompagnatori. Poi, i due start da Via di Roma: Hoka Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte 42K e Ravenna Half Marathon 21K. Dopo solo mezz’ora partirà dall’Ex Ippodromo Candiano il fiume colorato, infinito, gioioso, fragoroso, allegro e incosciente della Martini Good Morning Ravenna 10K.

Per tutti l’arrivo in Via di Roma dove torneremo a vivere insieme le emozioni più belle, quelle provate sotto un traguardo che per tutti noi rappresenterà anche un nuovo inizio.

We are ready for the 2022 edition of the Hoka Marathon in Ravenna City of Art, the great container of color, warmth, joy, sport, events. In one word: emotions.

2022 is representing for many areas the real restart to leave Covid behind, without underestimating every aspect, and even Ravenna Runners Club is ready to return to the street with its kaleidoscope of events that will animate the weekend from ‘11 to 13 November.

Every self-respecting maxi container contains many things, in this case many appointments. From Friday afternoon the opening of the Expo Marathon Village, this year totally renovated and set up at the Pala de André with an assorted variety of Street Food. On Saturday morning, in the square in front of the Palasport, the EasyCoop Family Run with 2 km for families, grandmothers, uncles and schools in the area. Following the noisy and colorful caravan of Dogs & Run, with dogs and their families side by side.

Sunday 13 is the day everyone is waiting for. A small, but very important, initial taste with Running Without Borders reserved for the disabled and their companions. Then, the two starts from Via di Roma: Hoka Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte 42K and Ravenna Half Marathon 21K. After only half an hour, the colorful, infinite, joyful, thunderous, cheerful and reckless river of the Martini Good Morning Ravenna 10K will depart from the Ex Ippodromo Candiano.

La Maratona di Ravenna città d’Arte raggiunge il traguar do della 23esima edizione. Alla vigilia del compimento del quarto di secolo, l’evento è sempre più radicato e parteci pato, premiando la passione per lo sport, ma anche per l’arte e la cultura e richiamando nella nostra città un pub blico sempre più numeroso ed entusiasta. L’evento è quindi motivo d’orgoglio per questa amministrazione grazie ai suoi molteplici positivi effetti che vanno dalla promozione della salute e del benessere alla valorizzazione dell’identità culturale alla diffusione dell’immagine della città. Tra le no vità plaudo al rinnovo dell’area dedicata all’Expo Marathon Village che verrà allestita al Pala de André; tra i numerosi spazi espositivi anche “Pompieropoli” a cura dell’Associa zione nazionale Vigili del fuoco che partecipa all’evento con un campionato italiano di Mezza maratona. La partecipazione di uno dei corpi nazionali più amati in Italia e più invidiati all’estero contribuisce ad accrescere l’attenzione e l’attesa. Buona maratona a tutte e a tutti!

Siamo felici di tornare ad organizzare questa nuova edizione della HOKA Maratona di Ravenna città d’Arte e orgogliosi di aver, ancora per una volta, la possibilità di organizzare il Cam pionato Italiano Assoluto e Master. Per questo è doveroso rin graziare la FIDAL che ci ha assegnato questo onere e onore.

Un ulteriore salto di qualità nell’offerta del nostro evento è il nuovo Expo Marathon Village che quest’anno andrà in scena al Pala de André così da rendere accogliente, vivibile e ancor più internazionale, il cuore pulsante dei giorni precedenti alla Maratona. Il 2022 è ancora un anno di ripresa per tutto il mondo e noi faremo di tutto per regalarvi la possibilità di riprendervi l’intera città e tor nare a vivere i momenti più belli con la spensieratezza e la leggerezza di un tempo. Tra i ringraziamenti, il più sentito, va alla città e ai ravennati che grazie alla loro partecipazione hanno reso la nostra 10K un appuntamento tutto da vivere, un momento unico per stare insieme da trascorrere tra le bellissime vie della nostra meravigliosa città. Ai volontari e a tutti coloro che si rendono operosi per la riuscita dell’evento, una citazione particolare, perché ogni anno si mettono a disposizione con passione e impegno. Ci auguriamo che ancora una volta possa essere un weekend di gioia e divertimento arricchito, inoltre, dai tanti runners provenienti da tutto il mondo e da tutta la penisola italiana così da regalare alle diverse attività e ai settori produttivi un notevole impulso economico. Un grazie mai scontato alle Istituzioni, lungimiranti e attente alle nostre esigenze organiz zative. Grazie a tutte le Forze dell’Ordine e alla Polizia Municipale che rendono possibile la riuscita di questo evento in piena sicurezza. Infine, un doveroso ringraziamento agli sponsor, sempre più numerosi, sensibili e generosi, che hanno reso possibile la continua e costante crescita della Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte! Un saluto cordiale e caloroso di bentornata alla Hoka Marato na di Ravenna che quest’anno si arricchisce di nuovi appun tamenti grazie al Campionato italiano master e assoluto e al Campionato italiano di Mezza maratona dei Vigili del Fuoco. Ma non sono le sole novità: la Maratona continua a fare sport alla sua maniera declinando e valorizzando il territorio in tutti i suoi aspetti. Medaglie e t-shirt richiameranno infatti in questa edizione la Ravenna del mare e la Ravenna dell’ar te con il colore che riprende l’acqua, elemento identitario e caratterizzante della nostra città, dalle zone naturali, ai 36 km di costa, allo sviluppo urbano nei secoli, e il pesce rap presentativo del mosaico parietale della Basilica di Sant’Apollinare Nuovo che raffigura l’Ultima Cena. Da assessore allo Sport ma anche al Turismo non posso che apprezzare l’obiettivo della Maratona di esaltare le caratteristiche migliori della città davanti alla platea nazionale e internazionale dei suoi partecipanti, una platea attenta alla forma e al benessere, ma anche alle peculiarità artistiche e storiche della località ospitante.

The Ravenna Marathon City of Art reaches the milestone of the 23rd edition. On the eve of the completion of the quarter century, the event is increasingly rooted and par ticipated, rewarding the passion for sport, but also for art and culture and attracting an increasingly numerous and enthusiastic public to our city. A cordial and warm welcome back to the Hoka Marathon in Ravenna which this year is enriched with new appointments thanks to the Italian Masters and Absolute Champion ship and the Italian Fire Brigade Half Marathon Championship. Il 25 novembre si celebra la Giornata mondiale per l’eliminazione della vio lenza di genere, una data importante in detta in ricordo del massacro di tre giovani attiviste, le sorelle Mirabal, barbaramente uccise in questo giorno nel 1960, perché “colpevoli” di essersi ribellate al dittatore domenicano Rafael Trujillo. Una ricorrenza che accende i riflettori su una battaglia che Linea Rosa - il Centro Antiviolenza di Ra venna, Russi e Cervia - combatte quotidia namente da oltre trent’anni, con attività al fianco delle donne, per sostenerle e assi sterle nel loro percorso di affrancamento da maltrattamenti e umiliazioni, ma anche attraverso momenti pubblici di sensibiliz zazione e lotta alla cultura del patriarcato. Un impegno, quest’ultimo, che nel mese di novembre diventa quasi febbrile. Anche quest’anno, dunque, Linea Rosa ha organizzato una serie di appuntamen ti nell’ambito della Rassegna “Una So cietà per Relazioni - strade alternative alla violenza #NOISCEGLIAMO”, a cura dell’assessorato alle Politiche e Cultura di Genere del Comune di Ravenna, in colla borazione con Villaggio Globale, che fa da capofila, e con numerose altre associazio ni, cooperative sociali e istituzioni locali. Si parte il 23 novembre con l’evento sce nico “Dietro l’ombra - vivere ancora sen za me”, a cura della Compagnia di Danza Shadre Dance Family, in programma alle 21.00 al Teatro Rasi (il matinée - già sold out - è riservato alle scuole). Attraverso una drammaturgia coerente ed incisiva, lo spettacolo racconta le vicende di una gio vane coppia alle prese con il primo amore. Un sentimento che nel tempo si tramuterà in violenza, fisica e verbale, proseguendo in un clima sociale che spinge alla ver gogna e alla voglia di nascondersi, fino a diventare “ombra”. Nel pomeriggio dello stesso giorno, alle 14.30 alla sala Cavalcoli della sede della Camera di Commercio di Ravenna, è in pro gramma la presentazione del libro di Te resa Bruno “I bambini nella tempesta”. Il riadattamento sce nico è a cura di Sandra Melandri e i testi di Monica Vodarich. Sul palco anche gli attori Mario Battaglia (che l’associazione ringrazia per il prezioso apporto artistico) e Daniela Denti, insieme alle danzatrici Linda Compagnoni e Sara Plazzi e al sas sofonista Marco Zoli. Alle luci e al suono il tecnico Matteo Tiozzo. La prenotazione è obbligatoria ed è gradita un’offerta mi nima consigliata di 5 euro. SABATO 12 NOVEMBRE L’EVENTO PER TUTTA LA FAMIGLIA

Quando lo sport è alla portata di tutti, è aggregazione, è amicizia, è famiglia.

Quando lo sport non è solo agonismo, ma anche il piacere di stare insieme e di prendere parte ad un evento che attraversa le strade della città in una giornata di festa tra famiglie e scolaresche, perché lo sport è sempre per tutti!

Sabato 12 novembre torniamo a camminare o correre insieme a mamma, papà, zii e nonni con la EasyCoop Family Run, 2 km circa di benessere e sorrisi.

E quest’anno la manifestazione si svolgerà in una location nuova: il piazzale antistante il Pala de André. Nel grande spazio all’esterno del nuovo Expo Marathon Village dove verrà creata una bellissima atmosfera di festa arricchita dalle coloratissime cucine itineranti dello street food e dalla divertentissima maratonina a 6 zampe della Dogs & Run. Ecco la Dogs & Run, la cosiddetta Maratonina a 6 zampe dove i cani e le loro famiglie possono sfilare gli uni al fianco degli altri. Un momento tutto per voi, dalle ore 12 circa (al termine della EasyCoop Family Run) sempre nel piazzale antistante il Pala de André. E per tutti i partecipanti una borsa ricca di omaggi e gadget coi quali trascorrere ancor più tempo insieme al vostro miglior amico.

CORRENDO SENzA FRONTIERE, ANCHE LA DISABILITà SCENDE IN STRADA

Come sempre, la Maratona di Ravenna, sarà un appuntamento aperto davvero a tutti, senza alcuna distinzione. Questo è l’obiettivo anche dell’iniziativa “Correndo senza Frontiere”, nata per aprire le porte a tutte le persone con disabilità Un progetto nato all’interno del “Coordinamento per l’attività motoria e sportiva adattata alla persona con disabilità intellettiva” creato nel 2016 dal CSI di Ravenna e dalla Cooperativa Sociale “La Pieve”, rivolto ad atleti con disabilità e dedicato alla promozione dell’inclusione sociale.

All’insegna dello slogan “lo sport è per tutti”, un breve tragitto che porterà gli atleti disabili, ed i loro accompagnatori, a percorrere circa 3 km del percorso della Maratona nel centro storico, sino ad arrivare al traguardo di Via di Roma prima del sopraggiungere dei runner delle diverse distanze. Pronti agli applausi?

MARATHON BABY PARKING

Anche quest’anno la Maratona vuole rivolgere un pensiero in più alle famiglie in modo che tutti, sia grandi che piccini, si divertano nella giornata speciale del 13 Novembre: ritorna il Baby Parking per tutti i bambini dai 4 ai 12 anni, un’area ricreativa riservata e sorvegliata. Tutti gli iscritti, previa compilazione ed invio del modulo che potete trovare nel sito, possono affidarsi gratuitamente al servizio di “Marathon Baby Parking”, lo staff del CSI di Ravenna si occuperà di intrattenere i bambini, mentre i loro genitori corrono sulle strade di Ravenna. Uno spazio appositamente creato per i nostri bambini in cui professionisti che lavorano nell’ambito educativo aiuteranno i vostri piccoli ad esplorare le loro potenzialità attraverso percorsi sensoriali ed attività di gioco. Tutti i nostri professionisti sia dell’area della riabilitazione (logopedisti, fisioterapisti, terapista della neuro e psicomotricità infantile , ecc) che dell’area tecnica (tecnico di radiologia, igienisti, ecc) insegneranno ai vostri bambini attraverso giochi educativi le basi per la prevenzione primaria della salute e la conoscenza del corpo umano.

Un servizio gratuito e compreso nella quota di iscrizione all’evento. Il servizio sarà disponibile Domenica 13 Novembre dalle ore 8.00 no alle ore 16.00.

Have a day with your dog. Have a day in which you can think only of you, to be together. Maybe surrounded by many other friends of all sizes, races and ages! Place a noisy, colorful caravan anticipated by the happy barking of its “participants”.

Here is the Dogs & Run, the so-called 6-legged Marathon where dogs and their families can parade alongside each other. A moment just for you, from around 12 (at the end of the EasyCoop Family Run) always in the square in front of the Pala de André. And for all participants a bag full of gifts and gadgets with which to spend even more time with your best friend.

RUNNING WITHOUT BARRIERS, EVEN DISABILITY GET DOWN THE STREET

As always, the Ravenna Marathon will be an event open to everyone, without distinction. This is also the goal of the “Running without Barriers” initiative, created to open the doors to all people with disabilities

A project born within the “Coordination for motor and sports activities adapted to people with intellectual disabilities” created in 2016 by the CSI of Ravenna and the Social Cooperative “La Pieve”, aimed at athletes with disabilities and dedicated to the promotion of social inclusion.

Under the slogan “sport is for everyone”, a short journey that will take disabled athletes, and their companions, to cover about 3 km of the Marathon route in the historic center, until reaching the finish line in Via di Roma before of the arrival of runners of different distances. Ready to cheer them?

MARATHON BABY PARKING

Also this year the Marathon wants to give an extra thought to families so that everyone, both adults and children, have fun on the special day of November 13th: Baby Parking is back for all children aged 4 to 12, an area private and supervised recreational area.

All members, after completing and sending the form that you can find on the site, can rely for free on the “Marathon Baby Parking” service, the staff of the CSI of Ravenna will take care of entertaining the children, while their parents run on the streets of Ravenna.

A space specially created for our children where professionals working in the educational field will help your little ones to explore their potential through sensory paths and play activities. All our professionals both in the rehabilitation area (speech therapists, physiotherapists, child neuro and psychomotor therapist, etc.) and in the technical area (radiology technician, hygienists, etc.) will teach your children the basics of prevention through educational games. primary health and knowledge of the human body.

UN PERCORSO COSTELLATO

DA MONUMENTI UNESCO, PATRIMONIO MONDIALE DELL’UMANITà

Anche per l’edizione 2022 il percorso della Maratona di Ravenna terrà fede alla sua etichetta di “Città d’Arte” e, per scelta di Ravenna Runners Club e dell’Amministrazione Comunale di Ravenna, toccherà tutti gli otto siti paleocristiani iscritti Unesco World Heritage dal 1996 e quindi, Patrimonio Mondiale dell’Umanità. Otto gioielli della storia e dell’arte che Ravenna apre al mondo non più come suo patrimonio, ma come bene dell’umanità intera.

BASILICA DI SANT’APOLLINARE NUOVO - Dopo la partenza davanti al MAR, Museo d’Arte di Ravenna, a pochi passi dalla basilica di S. Maria in Porto, il primo sito UNESCO che il percorso tocca è la Basilica di Sant’Apollinare Nuovo. Fatta erigere da Teodorico accanto al suo palazzo, fu in origine adibita a Chiesa palatina, di culto ariano. Secondo la tradizione, nel IX secolo le reliquie di Sant’Apollinare furono traslate qui dalla Basilica di Classe e in quell’occasione ricevette la sua intitolazione a Sant’Apollinare, detta «Nuovo» per distinguerla da un’altra chiesa dallo stesso nome. Al suo interno la meravigliosa decorazione di mosaico parietale bizantino.

MAUSOLEO DI TEODORICO - Dopo aver superato la Darsena di Città e il Moro di Venezia, circa al quinto km si può ammirare il Mausoleo di Teodorico, fatto costruire dallo stesso Teodorico nel 520 d.C. come propria sepoltura, interamente realizzato in blocchi di pietra d’Istria. La costruzione si articola in due ordini sovrapposti, entrambi decagonali. Al di sopra del Mausoleo si innalza una grande cupola monolitica, coronata da dodici anse recanti i nomi di otto Apostoli e di quattro Evangelisti.

BATTISTERO DEGLI ARIANI - Nel centro storico il percorso incontra il Battistero degli Ariani. L’edificio, interrato per circa 2,3 metri, ha forma ottagonale e presenta quattro piccole absidi all’esterno. Al suo interno l’unica parte ancora decorata è la cupola rivestita di mosaici raffiguranti il corteo dei dodici apostoli e il battesimo di Cristo, immerso nell’acqua fino ai fianchi.

MAUSOLEO DI GALLA PLACIDIA - Il percorso della Maratona prosegue sino a sfiorare il Mausoleo di Galla Placidia. Un edificio che emana un’atmosfera magica. Le innumerevoli stelle della cupola hanno colpito nel corso dei secoli la fantasia e la sensibilità dei visitatori tanto che si narra che Cole Porter, in viaggio di nozze a Ravenna, rimase talmente colpito dall’atmosfera del piccolo Mausoleo e dalle sue stelle, da comporre la sua famosissima canzone Night and Day.

BASILICA DI SAN VITALE - Pochi metri ed ecco la Basilica di San Vitale, uno dei monumenti più importanti dell’arte paleocristiana in Italia. Fondata su ordine del vescovo Ecclesio, la basilica a pianta ottagonale fu consacrata nel 548 dall’arcivescovo Massimiano. All’interno magnifiche decorazioni musive nell’abside, e affreschi barocchi nella cupola.

CAPPELLA DI S. ANDREA - Proseguendo si arriva dinanzi al Duomo, cattedrale relativamente recente costruita tra il 1734 e il 1745, sede dell’Arcidiocesi di Ravenna e Cervia. Nel vicino Palazzo Arcivescovile è situata la Cappella di S. Andrea, unico esempio di cappella arcivescovile paleocristiana giunta integra a noi, costruita da Pietro II e dedicata originariamente a Cristo. In seguito intitolata a Sant’Andrea, le cui reliquie erano state trasportate da Costantinopoli a Ravenna nel VI secolo.

BATTISTERO NEONIANO - Costeggiando il Duomo si transita davanti al Battistero Neoniano, edificato probabilmente attorno agli inizi del V secolo. Al tempo del vescovo Neone fu oggetto di importanti lavori di restauro che portarono al rifacimento della cupola, ma soprattutto alla realizzazione della decorazione interna che oggi possiamo ammirare.

BASILICA DI SANT’APOLLINARE IN CLASSE - Al 15esimo km si approda alla Basilica di Sant’Apollinare in Classe, definita il più grande esempio di basilica paleocristiana. Nonostante le spoliazioni subite nel corso dei secoli, la chiesa preserva la bellezza della struttura originaria ed è ammirata per gli splendidi mosaici policromi del suo catino absidale e gli antichi sarcofagi marmorei degli arcivescovi lungo le navate.

A ROUTE CONSTELLED BY UNESCO MONUMENTS, WORLD HERITAGE OF UMANITY

Also for 2022 edition, the route of the Ravenna Marathon will respect its label of “City of Art” and, by choice of the Ravenna Runners Club and the Ravenna Municipal Administration, it will reach all eight paleochristian sites registered Unesco World Heritage since 1996 and therefore, a World Heritage Site.

Eight jewels of history and art that Ravenna opens to the world no longer as its heritage, but as an asset of the whole humanity.

BASILICA DI SANT’APOLLINARE NUOVO - After leaving in front of the MAR, Art Museum of Ravenna, a few steps from the Basilica of S. Maria in Porto, the first UNESCO site that the route reaches is the Basilica of Sant ‘Apollinare Nuovo. Built by Teodorico next to his palace, it was originally used as a Palatine church, of Arian worship. According to tradition, in the ninth century the relics of Sant’Apollinare were moved here from the Basilica di Classe and on that occasion received its dedication to Sant’Apollinare, called «Nuovo» to distinguish it from another church of the same name. Inside, the marvelous Byzantine wall mosaic decoration.

MAUSOLEO DI TEODORICO - After passing the Darsena di Città and the Moro di Venezia, around the fifth km you can admire the Mausoleum of Theodoric, built by Teodorico himself in 520 AD as its own burial, made entirely of blocks of Istrian stone. The construction is divided into two superimposed orders, both decagonal. Above the mausoleum there is a large monolithic dome, crowned by twelve loops bearing the names of eight Apostles and four Evangelists.

BATTISTERO DEGLI ARIANI - In the historic center the route meets the Arian Baptistery. The building, underground for about 2.3 meters, has an octagonal shape and has four small apses outside. Inside the only part still decorated is the dome covered with mosaics depicting the procession of the twelve apostles and the baptism of Christ, immersed in water up to the sides.

MAUSOLEUM OF GALLA PLACIDIA - The path of the Marathon continues until it touches the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia. A building that exudes a magical atmosphere. The innumerable stars of the dome have impressed over the centuries the imagination and sensitivity of visitors, so much so that it is said that Cole Porter, during a honeymoon in Ravenna, was so struck by the atmosphere of the small mausoleum and its stars, that it composed the his famous song Night and Day.

BASILICA OF SAN VITALE - A few meters away is the Basilica of San Vitale, one of the most important monuments of early Christian art in Italy. Founded by Bishop Ecclesio, the octagonal basilica was consecrated in 548 by Archbishop Massimiano. Inside, magnificent mosaic decorations in the apse, and baroque frescoes in the dome.

CHAPEL OF ST. ANDREA - Then we arrive in front of the Cathedral, a relatively recent cathedral built between 1734 and 1745, venue of the archdiocese of Ravenna and Cervia. In the nearby Archiepiscopal Palace there is the Chapel of St. Andrew, the only example of an early Christian archiepiscopal chapel that has survived intact, built by Peter II and originally dedicated to Christ. Later dedicated to St. Andrew, whose relics had been transported from Constantinople to Ravenna in the sixth century.

NEONIAN BAPTISTERY - Walking along the Duomo you pass in front of the Neonian Baptistery, probably built around the beginning of the 5th century. At the time of Bishop Neone it was the object of important restoration work that led to the rebuilding of the dome, but above all to the realization of the interior decoration that we can admire today.

BASILICA DI SANT’APOLLINARE IN CLASSE - At the 15th km you arrive at the Basilica of Sant ‘Apollinare in Classe, defined as the largest example of an early Christian basilica. Despite the plundering suffered over the centuries, the church preserves the beauty of the original structure and is admired for the splendid polychrome mosaics of its apsidal basin and the ancient marble sarcophagi of the archbishops along the aisles.

OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST ON THE ROUTE AND IN THE CITY - Dante Alighieri Tomb, Piazza del Popolo, Ancient Port of Classe, Rocca Brancaleone, Domus of the Stone Carpets, Classense Library, Civic Tower and some of the most famous museums in the area.

5 MOTIVI PER VISITARE RAVENNA

1 L’anima di Ravenna è strettamente legata alla sua storia, della quale conserva tantissimi reperti, diversi dei quali in seriti nella lista dei Patrimoni dell’Umanità dell’Unesco. La cit tà è stata  tre volte capitale. Prima dell’Impero Romano d’Occi dente, poi del Regno Goto di Teodorico e infine capitale dell’Impero Bizantino.

2 Ravenna è la città dove visse in esilio gli ultimi suoi anni e morì il 14 settembre 1321 Dante Alighieri. Tutto in città parla di lui, dalla casa dove si disse sia vissuto alla tomba, dal museo alle mostre a lui dedicate, fino alle opere d’arte e ai murales.

3 La capitale del mosaico per eccellenza è Ravenna. Potrete ammirare queste meravigliose e coloratissime opere in tanti luoghi. Non solo nelle chiese e musei più importanti ma anche nelle botteghe artigiane e perfino nelle insegne per strada che recano il nome delle vie.

4 La città è curata e pulita,  accogliente e vivace, facile da girare a piedi e anche in bicicletta (mezzo diffusissimo tra gli abitanti della città).

5 Ravenna si trova sul mare ed è circondata da spiagge, ot time per una vacanza estiva. Nelle sue vicinanze ci sono inoltre delle belle e fresche pinete e l’interessante zona del Parco del Delta del Po

COSA VEDERE A RAVENNA IN UN WEEKEND

BASILICA DI SAN VITALE:

Un maestoso scrigno del VI secolo, capolavoro dell’arte paleocristiana e bizantina dove ammirare bellissimi mosaici (notevoli i mosaici dell’absi de, soprattutto). È consigliato visitare la basilica con la luce del sole, per ché i colori sono più lucenti e di impatto.

MAUSOLEO DI GALLA PLACIDIA:

Un’altra meraviglia, Patrimonio Unesco e tra i capolavori da vedere a Ra venna. Il Mausoleo fu fatto costruire dall’imperatrice Galla Placidia nel V secolo perché servisse per la sua sepoltura. Il soffitto stellato è di una bel lezza ipnotica: non riuscirete a smettere di guardare in alto!

MAR - MUSEO D’ARTE DELLA CITTà DI RAVENNA:

Il Museo accoglie quadri e mosaici contemporanei. Dall’ 8 ottobre al 27 no vembre, periodo quindi che comprende il weekend della HOKA Maratona di Ravenna, il museo accoglierà la VII edizione della  Biennale di Mosaico Contemporaneo, una biennale che recupera l’edizione del 2021 sospesa a causa della pandemia da Covid-19. Oltre cento artisti provenienti da venti differenti paesi del mondo, dagli Stati Uniti al Giappone, dal Messico alla Cina, oltre che ovviamente dall’Italia e da Ravenna; sessanta spazi espositivi tra monumenti, musei, chiostri, gallerie e luoghi simbolici che ospitano più di cinquanta mostre e allestimenti.

BASILICA DI SANT’APOLLINARE IN CLASSE:

Questa basilica si trova a soli pochi chilometri da Ravenna ed è un esem pio di architettura cristiana del VI secolo. Fu costruita per celebrare e con servare le spoglie del patrono della città e anche qui potrete ammirare dei meravigliosi mosaici, che ne hanno fatto uno dei Patrimoni Unesco dell’Umanità.

BASILICA DI SANT’APOLLINARE NUOVO:

Da non confondere con la Basilica di Sant’Apollinare in Classe, fu voluta da Teodorico nel VI secolo e qui vennero poi spostate le reliquie del pa trono di Ravenna. È un’opera importante perché è l’unica testimonianza totalmente intatta del culto ariano dei Goti, nel quale la figura di Cristo è sia divina che terrena.

PIAzzA DEL POPOLO:

La piazza era in passato il cuore della città e le sue origini risalgono alla seconda metà del XIII secolo, quando i Da Polenta governavano Raven na. Ancora oggi rappresenta il centro cittadino e luogo di incontro per eccellenza.

TOMBA DI DANTE:

La storia della morte e della sepoltura di Dante a Ravenna è abbastan za controversa. Le sue spoglie furono pare infatti trafugate, poi ritrovate e spostate per avere definitivamente pace in quella che è chiamata “la tomba di Dante”, voluta dal cardinale Luigi Valenti Gonzaga sulla fine del 1700.

MUSEO DANTE ALIGHIERI:

Il museo propone un viaggio nella vita di Dante e nell’evoluzione delle sue opere attraverso immagini, scritti e comunicazioni multimediali. Se volete fare una full immersion nella storia del Grande Poeta, questo è un altro dei luoghi da non perdere!

MAUSOLEO DI TEODORICO:

Il mausoleo fu voluto da Teodorico per la sua propria sepoltura ed è co struito sul modello dei battisteri paleocristiani. Anche qui la bellezza dei mosaici che decorano la cupola è uno spettacolo notevole.

MUSEO NAzIONALE:

Fa parte del complesso monumentale di San Vitale e qui sono esposte importanti testimonianze archeologiche romane e tardo-antiche, in gran parte dovute al collezionismo monastico del ‘700.

BASILICA OF SAN VITALE:

A majestic 6th century casket, a masterpiece of early Christian and Byzan tine art where you can admire beautiful mosaics (especially the mosaics in the apse). It is recommended to visit the basilica in the sunlight, because the colors are brighter and more impactful.

MAUSOLEUM OF GALLA PLACIDIA:

Another wonder, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the master pieces to see in Ravenna. The Mausoleum was built by the Empress Galla Placidia in the 5th century to serve for her burial. The starry ceiling is hypnotic beauty: you won’t be able to stop looking up!

MAR - ART MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF RAVENNA:

The Museum houses contemporary paintings and mosaics. From 8 Oc tober to 27 November, a period that therefore includes the weekend of the HOKA Ravenna Marathon, the museum will host the VII edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic, a biennial that recovers the 2021 edi tion suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Over one hundred artists from twenty different countries of the world, from the United States to Japan, from Mexico to China, as well as of course from Italy and Raven na; sixty exhibition spaces including monuments, museums, cloisters, galleries and symbolic places that host more than fifty exhibitions and installations.

BASILICA OF SANT’APOLLINARE IN CLASSE:

This basilica is located just a few kilometers from Ravenna and is an exam ple of Christian architecture of the sixth century. It was built to celebrate and preserve the remains of the patron saint of the city and here too you can admire the wonderful mosaics, which have made it one of the Unesco World Heritage Sites.

BASILICA OF SANT’APOLLINARE NUOVO:

Not to be confused with the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare in Classe, it was commissioned by Theodoric in the sixth century and the relics of the pa tron saint of Ravenna were then moved here. It is an important work be cause it is the only totally intact testimony of the Aryan cult of the Goths, in which the figure of Christ is both divine and earthly.

PIAzzA DEL POPOLO:

The square was once the heart of the city and its origins date back to the second half of the 13th century, when the Da Polenta family ruled Ravenna. Even today it represents the city center and meeting place par excellence.

DANTE’S TOMB:

The story of Dante’s death and burial in Ravenna is quite controversial. His remains were apparently stolen, then found and moved to finally have peace in what is called “Dante’s tomb”, commissioned by Cardinal Luigi Valenti Gonzaga in the late 1700s.

DANTE ALIGHIERI MUSEUM:

The museum offers a journey into Dante’s life and the evolution of his works through images, writings and multimedia communications. If you want to do a full immersion in the history of the Great Poet, this is another place not to be missed!

MAUSOLEUM OF THEODORIC:

The mausoleum was commissioned by Theodoric for his own burial and is built on the model of the early Christian baptisteries. Here, too, the beauty of the mosaics that decorate the dome is a remarkable sight.

NATIONAL MUSEUM:

It is part of the monumental complex of San Vitale and important Roman and late-ancient archaeological remains are exhibited here, largely due to the monastic collecting of the 1700s.

LA MEDAGLIA

Una medaglia che segue la tradizione ma, al contempo, esce fuori dagli schemi classici mantenendo un forte legame con tutto ciò che rappresenta ed ha rappresentato dal 2011 ad oggi. La medaglia della HOKA Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte 2022, viene assemblata come sempre a mano nel laboratorio artigianale di Annafietta a due passi dalla Basilica di S. Vitale, si caratterizza per un profilo che racconta due storie distinte e unite allo stesso tempo. Il profilo di un pesce, arricchito nella parte centrale dalle bellissime e lucenti tessere in mosaico, non sarà solamente la conclusione del viaggio dei runner sulle strade di Ravenna il prossimo 13 novembre, ma già oggi accompagna in un percorso dal doppio significato.

Come sempre viene ripreso il dettaglio di uno dei celebri mosaici bizantini che l’Unesco ha dichiarato Patrimonio Mondiale dell’Umanità. In questo caso, l’ispirazione arriva dal mosaico parietale della Basilica di Sant’Apollinare Nuovo che raffigura L’Ultima Cena con due pesci in bella evidenza, uno dei mosaici più significativi nella navata centrale, che apre il ciclo delle tredici scene cristologiche della parte destra, dove sono riportati episodi della passione e resurrezione del Cristo. Il profilo del pesce non si lega poi solamente all’ispirazione dei mosaici parietale, ma racconta anche tanto del territorio che ospiterà il grande evento della Maratona. Ravenna Città d’Arte, ma anche Ravenna Città di Mare. Ed ecco che il pesce rappresenta anche un elemento fondamentale della Romagna con le sue spiagge, i suoi porti e una lunghissima tradizione che non ha mai perso il contatto con il Mar Adriatico pur ampliando i propri orizzonti anche all’entroterra. Anche per il 2022 la medaglia verrà proposta in tre tagli diversi. La più grande per i finisher della Maratona sui 42,195 Km, una versione leggermente più piccola toccherà ai runner che taglieranno il traguardo nella Half Marathon, infine la versione minore sarà prodotta per la Martini Good Morning Ravenna 10K. Inoltre, per la prima volta nella Maratona di Ravenna sarà possibile far incidere sul retro della medaglia il nome e il tempo con cui il runner ha terminato la gara, in modo tale da rendere la medaglia un ricordo unico e totalmente personale.

LA T-SHIRT UFFICIALE

Se la nuova medaglia della Hoka Maratona di Ravenna ricorda la Ravenna città di Mare, la t-shirt non poteva che essere azzurra come il colore del mare, più precisamente del mar Adriatico, simbolo delle spiagge romagnole e di un legame che non verrà mai spezzato. La t-shirt di questa edizione, infatti, sarà di una bellissima sfumatura dell’azzurro, il turchese: colore brillante che dona sensazioni di vitalità e libertà. THE MEDAL

A medal that follows tradition but, at the same time, comes out of the classic schemes while maintaining a strong link with everything it represents and has represented from 2011 to today. The medal of the HOKA Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte 2022, is assembled as always by hand in the Annafietta workshop, a stone’s throw from the Basilica of S. Vitale, is characterized by a profile that tells two distinct and united stories at the same time. The profile of a fish, enriched in the central part by the beautiful and shiny mosaic tiles, will not only be the conclusion of the runner’s journey on the streets of Ravenna on November 13th, but already accompanies them on a path with a double meaning.

As always, the detail of one of the famous Byzantine mosaics that UNESCO has declared a World Heritage Site is taken up. In this case, the inspiration comes from the wall mosaic of the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo which depicts the Last Supper with two fish in good evidence, one of the most significant mosaics in the central nave, which opens the cycle of thirteen Christological scenes of the part right, where episodes of the passion and resurrection of Christ are reported.

The profile of the fish is not only linked to the inspiration of the wall mosaics, but also tells a lot about the territory that will host the great event of the Marathon. Ravenna City of Art, but also Ravenna City of the Sea. And here, fish is also a fundamental element of Romagna with its beaches, its ports and a very long tradition that has never lost contact with the Adriatic Sea while also expanding its horizons inland.

Also for 2022 the medal will be offered in three different denominations. The largest for the finishers of the 42.195 Km Marathon, a slightly smaller version will be the turn of the runners who will cross the finish line in the Half Marathon, finally the smaller version will be produced for the Martini Good Morning Ravenna 10K. Furthermore, for the first time in the Ravenna Marathon it will be possible to have the name and the time with which the runner finished the race engraved on the back of the medal, in order to make the medal a unique and totally personal memory.

THE OFFICIAL T-SHIRT

If the new medal of the HOKA Maratona di Ravenna recalls the Ravenna city of the sea, the t-shirt could only be blue like the color of the sea, more precisely of the Adriatic Sea, a symbol of the Romagna beaches and of a bond that will never be broken.

CON DANTE

UN ITINERARIO DI UN GIORNO PER LE STRADE DI RAVENNA PER CONOSCERE IL RAPPORTO TRA IL SOMMO POETA E L’ARTE CONTEMPORANEA IN CITTà

Col tempo Ravenna ha restituito al Sommo Poeta il privilegio della sua presenza e della sua opera in città, prendendone ispirazione e omaggiandolo con opere moderne legate al suo passaggio. Questo itinerario di un giorno conduce alla scoperta della figura Dante Alighieri in chiave contemporanea, toccando tutte quelle espressioni artistiche e culturali che la sua figura è riuscita a suscitare in città.

1ª TAPPA:

Un volto di Dante alto più di tre metri, pensante e assorto. Coloratissimo. È l’opera di street art del brasiliano Kobra che dà il via a questo itinerario, dalla centralissima via Pasolini. Dopo Chicago, Londra, Tokyo e molti altri luoghi in tutto il mondo, l’artista ha portato la sua arte sul muro esterno della Scuola Primaria “Filippo Mordani”, creando un accostamento variopinto e molto attuale nel cuore delle antiche vie di Ravenna. L’opera è stata realizzata nel 2017 in occasione del festival Subsidenze, che in pochi anni ha arricchito i palazzi e le strade della città con più di ottanta opere, sempre visibili.

2ª TAPPA:

Blub è un artista italiano che si dedica a una street art diversa, ironica e minuta. A Ravenna le sue opere possono ammirarsi in una trentina di luoghi diversi, sparsi per tutto il centro storico della città, e non solo. “L’arte sa nuotare”  è la serie di personaggi illustri della Storia, rappresentati da Blub sott’acqua e dotati di apparecchi da immersione: Marylin Monroe, Van Gogh, Magritte, Babbo Natale, Dalì e, da buon fiorentino, non poteva mancare un omaggio a Dante Alighieri.

In via Armando Diaz, giungendo dalla stazione, appena dentro la zona pedonale si trova un Dante di profilo con il tipico abito rosso e l’alloro, ma che però indossa una maschera nera da sub e sembra quasi sorridere. Ci stiamo dirigendo verso la Zona del Silenzio, dedicata al Sommo Poeta, dunque pare naturale che egli trattenga il respiro, lasciando libera soltanto qualche bollicina, come se ci stesse invitando alla quiete e alla contemplazione.

3ª TAPPA:

Qualche minuto di cammino più avanti, in fondo a via Dante Alighieri spicca, bianchissimo, il suo sepolcro, da poco restaurato, così come il Quadrarco di Braccioforte e l’adiacente Museo Dante. L’intera area, compresa la Basilica di San Francesco, dove si tennero i solenni funerali dell’Alighieri, offre uno degli scorci più belli della città.

4ª TAPPA:

Il Museo TAMO nasconde molti tesori e propone diverse tipologie di visite guidate, laboratori ed esperienze multimediali. Relativi a Dante, si segnala nei chiostri del museo, una volta chiesa di San Nicolò, la sezione “Mosaici tra Inferno e Paradiso”. Si tratta una raccolta di 21 opere a soggetto dantesco, commissionate a grandi artisti italiani del ‘900 e realizzate in parte da mosaicisti di scuola ravennate.

A DAY WITH DANTE

A ONE-DAY ITINERARY ON THE ROADS OF RAVENNA TO KNOW THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DANTE ALIGHIERI AND CONTEMPORARY ART IN THE CITY

Over time Ravenna has returned to the Supreme Poet the privilege of his presence and his work in the city, taking inspiration and paying homage to him with modern works related to his passage. This one-day itinerary leads to the discovery of Dante Alighieri in a contemporary key, touching all those artistic and cultural expressions that his figure has managed to arouse in the city.

1ST STAGE:

A face of Dante over three meters high, thinking and absorbed. Colorful. It is the street art work of the Brazilian Kobra that kicks off this itinerary, from the very central Via Pasolini.

After Chicago, London, Tokyo and many other places around the world, the artist has brought his art to the outer wall of the “Filippo Mordani” Primary School, creating a colorful and very contemporary combination in the heart of the ancient streets of Ravenna.

The work was created in 2017 on the occasion of the Subsidenze festival, which in a few years has enriched the buildings and streets of the city with more than eighty works, always visible.

2ND STAGE:

Blub is an Italian artist who dedicates himself to a different, ironic and minute street art. In Ravenna, his works can be admired in about thirty different places, scattered throughout the historic center of the city, and beyond.

“Art knows how to swim” is the series of illustrious characters from history, represented by Blub underwater and equipped with diving equipment: Marylin Monroe, Van Gogh, Magritte, Santa Claus, Dalì and, as a good Florentine, he could not miss a tribute to Dante Alighieri.

In via Armando Diaz, coming from the station, just inside the pedestrian area there is a Dante in profile with the typical red dress and laurel, but who however wears a black diving mask and almost seems to smile.

We are heading towards the Zone of Silence, dedicated to the Supreme Poet, so it seems natural that he holds his breath, leaving only a few bubbles free, as if he were inviting us to quiet and contemplation.

3RD STAGE:

A few minutes’ walk further on, at the end of via Dante Alighieri, his tomb, recently restored, stands out, as well as the Quadrarco of Braccioforte and the adjacent Dante Museum.

The entire area, including the Basilica of San Francesco, where the solemn funeral of Alighieri was held, offers one of the most beautiful views of the city.

4TH STAGE:

The TAMO Museum hides many treasures and offers different types of guided tours, workshops and multimedia experiences.

Relating to Dante, in the cloisters of the museum, once the church of San Nicolò, there is the section “Mosaics between Hell and Heaven”.

This is a collection of 21 works with Dante’s subjects, commissioned to great Italian artists of the twentieth century and made in part by mosaic artists from the Ravenna school.

RAVENNA

L’ARTE DI MANGIARE BENE A RAVENNA

La cucina romagnola è dominata dalla pasta fresca con la quale si preparano ottimi primi piatti, soprattutto in brodi corposi.

Ci sono i passatelli con un impasto di uovo, pan grattato, parmigiano e noce moscata, ma anche i cappelletti, rigorosamente fatti a mano con tagliere e mattarello e ripieni di formaggio e Parmigiano Reggiano. Non mancano poi le tagliatelle, solitamente accompagnati da un ragù di carne e gli strozzapreti (nella foto), più poveri ma non per questo meno gustosi, fatti con acqua, farina e sale.

E poi c’è la piadina, detta anche comunemente piada, utilizzata in cucina al posto del pane e considerata una delle colonne portanti della cultura gastronomica della Romagna.

Più spessa a Ravenna, più sottile e larga man mano che ci si sposta verso Rimini, viene farcita in mille modi: con salumi, formaggi (in primis Squacquerone di Romagna DOP), con il pesce come la saraghina (pesce azzurro cotto sulla graticola, impanato e profumato con prezzemolo e aglio), ma anche con verdure, creme, dolci e confetture.

Romagna cuisine is dominated by fresh pasta with which excellent first courses are prepared, especially in full-bodied broths.

There are the passatelli with a mixture of egg, breadcrumbs, parmesan and nutmeg, but also the cappelletti, strictly handmade with a cutting board and rolling pin and stuffed with cheese and Parmigiano Reggiano.

Then there are the tagliatelle, usually accompanied by a meat sauce and the strozzapreti (in the picture), poorer but no less tasty, made with water, flour and salt. And then there is the piadina, also commonly called piada, used in the kitchen instead of bread and considered one of the pillars of the gastronomic culture of Romagna.

Thicker in Ravenna, thinner and wider as you move towards Rimini, it is stuffed in a thousand ways: with cured meats, cheeses (first of all Squacquerone di Romagna DOP), with fish such as saraghina (blue fish cooked on the grill, breaded and scented with parsley and garlic), but also with vegetables, creams, sweets and jams.
