Even though the piece consists of very different blocks of material juxtaposed with each other, it should be considered as a single narrative — all segments of the composition should pass attacca from one to another. Accelerandi and diminuendi should be approached in a rather mechanical way. The same applies to the articulation and dynamics markings in the piece.
Each grace note should be approached as an “added value”, which gently but audibly shifts of the pulse — with similar approach as Messiaen’s “valeur ajoutée”, but without the precise time value of added notes.
