“What’s buzzin Key Clubbers? I hope everyone is doing alright with everything and anything happening in their lives! It’s crazy that I’m almost done with serving this term as my club’s president. I know it’s not the end of my term but we’ve all come a long way and I’m excited to see what next year’s board is capable of doing. Speaking of next year’s board, we recently held elections and we officially have our 2023-2024 Executive Key Club Board for East Tech! As an incoming senior I’m beyond excited to see what they can accomplish and how they’ll go beyond expectations next year. But aside from that I’m proud of every single one of you reading this by staying an active Key Club member, participating in community service events, and presenting yourself with spirit! With that said, I hope you enjoy our February newsletter filled with lots of content and see you in next month’s newsletter!”

FEBRUARY HAS BEEN SO GOOD! Hehe, I have a valentine or whatever. But, anyway I am so so proud of Charlette for being your next LTG. “Another favorite memory from this term is Fall Rally South! The day was full of cheering, no sleep, and eating funnel cakes! It was so fun being able to meet and connect with people in the Cali-NevHa District and be decked out in spirit! I don’t wanna put expectations on you, so I wanna place hope! A hope that you continue to keep members engaged with service. A hope that your passion for Key Club and service help you lead the club along with your officers and also ignite that passion within the members! :-)”

“ThemostdifficultpartofmyresponsibilityasSecretaryis keepingtrackofeverything.Atthebeginningoftheterm, knowingwhatIknownow,IfeelasIdidn’tunderstandwhatI wasgoinginto.Youaretheonethatknowstheinsandoutsof whatyourclubisdoinganddocumentingeverything.Youhave toknowhowtotrackeverythingthathappens.Fundraisercosts andprofits,servicehoursforeachmemberandeachevent, communicationwithdivision,articlesandvisualssubmitted.The littlethingsthatyoudon’tthinkhavetobenoted,youhaveto keeptrackof.Makingsureyoukeeptrackofeverypieceof informationandhavingtoupdateitconstantlythroughoutthe monthcanbeoverwhelming.I’vehadmyshareofbeing overwhelmedespeciallyatthebeginningofmytermwhereI wastryingtonavigateeverything,Ifeelwhathelpedmewasto askforhelp.Charlette,ourVPS,helpsmealotwhenitcomesto theserviceportion,whichhelpsmeimmensely.Ithinkthe biggestthingthathashelpedmetonotoverwhelmmyselfisto askforhelpandcommunicatetomyboardmemberswhenIam strugglingandinneedofhelp.”

“Oneofthemostdifficultthingsaboutplanning fundraiserswerepredictingtheoutcome.Ididn’t wantthesupplyamountofaproducttobelessor morethanenoughtomeetthebreak-evenpoint towhereIhadextrasupplies.Unfortunately,I learnedthehardwayandIwentthroughthe challengeofestimatingincorrectly.However,the experiencepushedmetobemorecautiousabout certaindecisionsandaskfortheinputofothers duringtheplanningprocess.Thisway,Ihavea betterideaofwhatisenoughforfuture fundraisers.Ialsolearnedthatit’sbettertohave aquantityofhavinglessovermore,becauseat theendofthedayIcanalwaysplananother fundraiser.”

“Something I’m most excited see the way you p your creativity into what you create and how you build bonds with the members, new and returning. Something I am nervous for is coming up with icebreakers that everyone enjoys because I struggled with this sometimes because having not everyone is going to enjoy the ice breaker or want to participate but you also don’t want to leave anyone out.”
