Sitting down with Vicki Cooper After ten years running her own very successful agency on the Sunshine Coast Vicki moved to the Northern Rivers and became an independent sales associate with @realty. How’s it working out? Overall I’m very happy with the way things are going and confident I made the right decision. And the right move. I’d like to be a little busier but realise it will take time for people to get to know me here. The @realty network and backup support is first rate and I have been fortunate enough to have attracted some great clients already. Why do you feel so strongly that the industry needs to change? Whenever you see research

asking people which professions they trust, invariably real estate agents are languishing at the bottom of the list. My clients receive my full attention and commitment, supported by all the latest technology, research, marketing and admin support

It’s time to be honest about this. On the whole we are just not seen to be the trustworthy, reliable people we like to project. And while there are many great, hard working professionals,

it’s not uncommon to hear complaints about poor service or high fees and charges. Old ways of doing business are changing. Our clients and customers are looking for something better.

Is there anything you miss about not working in a traditional agency structure? Well I don’t miss having business admin tasks distracting me from doing my absolute best for my clients and customers. I don’t miss trying to find employees who share the same work ethic and values. I don’t miss the distraction of gossip and office politics. In other words NO‌ I don’t miss it at all. What do you think are the main ćĕŕĕǕ Ć?Ɔ ÄŞĹ&#x;Ĺż ơĹ&#x;Ć–Ĺż ĈĹ?ĜĕŕĆ?Ć†Čƒ I am a highly experienced

award-winning sales agent. I have no office to manage, no staff to worry about and I am backed by Australia’s most modern real estate organisation. My clients receive my full attention and commitment, supported by all the latest technology, research, marketing and admin support of @realty. All for a fee which traditional bricks and mortar agencies will find very difficult to match.

As an @realty agent you are allowed to work wherever you like, is this a plus or a problem? If the internet did not exist it would be a problem. But the reality today is that I can find out virtually everything about your property and your neighbourhood online‌ and so can most savvy buyers. If I were looking for an agent to sell my property tomorrow, local knowledge would rate lower on my list of priorities behind attributes like: proven sales ability, outstanding negotiation skills and knowing how to use modern marketing to find the best buyers. I believe the old shop on the high street model is broken. I work wherever the clients are and where the buyers will be.
