All those brides and grooms ready to get hitched and filtering through fashion look books, here is some more motivation coming in your direction. With haute couture being synonymous with bridal wear in India, bunches of bespoke, magnificent high outfits for the lady of the hour’s trousseau and the lucky man’s closet will discover its way on to the slopes, when India Couture Week kick started in Delhi. Fashion Design Council of India organized a five day long event where, eleven designers showcased their outstanding creations. While designer Manish Malhotra opened the couture week, Rohit Bal closed it. And of course, couture is never complete without Bollywood presence, and thus there were some showstopper-action too.
Manish Malhotra Manish Malhotra opened the India Couture Week 2016 with a treat of a showThe fact that his couture already rests on glamour and grandeur fit for the big screen, and each season the designer pulls more strings to make each show standout more than the previous one. This season, he presented ‘The Persian Story’ inspired by the architecture of the fabled land of Persia. The drop shoulder blouse has become something of a Manish Malhotra staple on the runway. This season, the MM bride dropped her dupatta in favour of bare clavicle. The lehengas however remained monumentally opulent and by way of sheer size and embellishment—heavy to say the least. Malhotra went back to the vintage techniques of couching and embroidering velvet with dabka to bring an old-worldly opulence to his pieces. Hazoorilal Jewellers by Sandeep Narang partnered with the designer on the jewellery. But the final flourish on the show was a line-up bookended by Fawad Khan who played the opening act, and Deepika Padukone whose presence called for audible gasps and cheers. EBUZZ

The collection titled the ‘Scape Song’, brought in elements of water bodies, sands-free forms in nature that structurally inspired the designer. The colour palette included softer pastels with options of vintage hues like English blue, lavender and cherry. Gupta experimented with the crystal mesh fabric by Swarovski, which was used in the making of his pièce de résistance. However, the collection featured his trademark cocktail saris, gowns and even sari lehengas.

Kangna Ranaut walked as the showstopper looking absolutely sensational.

Taandon’s collection is aimed at the bride who is inspired by “the cuts, colours, fabric and crafts of Rajasthan. The entire collection gave us a pure taste of glimpse of scarlets and fiery tangerines on lehengas and anarkalis called Kamangari. Actress Divya Khosla Kumar walked as the showstopper for Taandon’s show.

Old-world embroideries and motifs seem to be the inspiration for the designer duo’s collection. Called Hiraeth, the collection inspiration comes from late writer Kahlil Gibran words, which they aim to translate into their creations scheduled for Friday.

Rahul Mishra aimed to ensnare the romance of the rainy season in his collection, Monsoon Diaries. Sticking to the tradition of intricate hand-done detailing, Mishra’s motifs take from varied elements of nature. We could spot beautiful peacocks on his moodboard, alongwith season-perfect florals.
Varun Bahl Looks like Varun Bhal Bahl loves his florals, and this time too, it seems like the foliage romance will continue. The versatile colour palette ranges from soft pastels like pistachio, duck-egg blue, and pale pink to stronger tones like mustard, fuchsia, and midnight blue.

Anita Dongre is known for lending her signature Jaipuri-touch to bridalwear, Dongre showcased her collection, Epic Love. The creations featured jewel-toned ensembles, which were drawn from Mughal and architectural motifs, with gota patti along with the prints.
Anamika Khanna Anamika Khanna is a Kolkata-based couturier. On her Facebook page, she used a verse to bring about the ideology of her collection. She quotes William Wordsworth’s poem, The Solitary Reaper. Just like we hoped the creations were pretty poetic!

The offsite show was held at the Bikaner House which has become a cultural hotspot since the end of last year, when it opened for art events and more. Zoya Nasir is the junior partner, creative head and the makeup artist at Sabs Salon Lahore. She will be achieving harley Quinn’s look without breaking the bank so you can have an amazing Halloween! We will start off by a paler than usual foundation to achieve the colorless look like Harley’s. Step 1: Prime the face with stageline’s oil control primer use. Mac color correction palette( the orange concealer) to hide the blemishes and dark circles) Step 2: Im using Lancometient idol ultra 24 hour in my exact skin match as the foundation. Step 3: Achieve the paler complexion by stippling kraylon’s water activated white cake liner and set it with stage line’s translucent powder. Step 4: Using lucsious cosmetic’s face contour kit In the darkest shade, bring the dimensions back in your face by contouring cheekbones, jawline, nose and the top of forhead. And their doll face blush on the apple of the cheeks for eerie clown-like effect

MOTHER OF ALL CLASHES HITS PAKISTAN
ALI AZMAT & UMAIR JASWAL LOCK HORNS FOR RED BULL SOUNDCLASH
Ali Azmat and Umair Jaswal have decided to ‘Clash’ for the first time. Coined by many as the ‘Clash of Generations’, Red Bull Soundclash will put Umair Jaswal and Ali Azmat to compete for the affection of the crowd. After warming up with a couple of tracks, both Umair Jaswal and Ali Azmat will be on opposing stages to execute a musical conversation that will push the boundaries and have the audience roaring in support gauged by a decibel meter. It started with a leaked video where Ali Azmat seemed quite unhappy with the new breed of musicians, mainly with Umair Jaswal’s style of music. This resulted in a war of words between Azmat and Jaswal for weeks until Red Bull decided to intervene by encouraging both musicians to settle the tension on stage by taking part in Red Bull Soundclash. Both Azmat and Jaswal participation for Red Bull Soundclash was further confirmed by the launch of a promo, directed by Asad Ul Haq, that brought the mounting tension, anger and clash between the two into focus. Red Bull Soundclash is a friendly rivalry, a musical conversation between two wildly different acts, who EBUZZ

perform on two stages positioned opposite to each other with the audience in between. Red Bull Soundclash has successfully been executed in many markets, Egypt, Jordon, Germany, Lebanon to name a few. This is the first time in Pakistan, first time Pakistani audience will be exposed to a one-of-a-kind clash where they will get to see best music acts from two different generations battling it out to win the ‘ultimate clash of generations’. Red Bull Soundclash has four rounds: The Cover (DJ cuts in a well-known song. Each band plays a cover version of this famous song in their style), The Take Over (Band 1 plays one of their hits. In the middle of the song Band 2 takes over the song in their style), The Clash (The bands have to play their own songs in 3 different styles) and The Wild Card (each band plays one more song together with an invited musician/special guest of their own choosing). There’s no question, Huawei is currently the mainstream brand to beat this year with the release of its Leica Phone. The cameras include an 8MP sensor with a dual LED flash, while a 2MP sensor takes care of selfies. The handset supports 4G bands, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and is powered by a 2200mAh battery. The plastic chassis will be just 8.9 mm thick and 135 grams.
These low entry-level prices will appeal to a wide range of buyers. The new Huawei devices will sport MediaTek SoCs and will diversify the company’s portfolio.
