Step Cut stones are shallower than Brilliant Cuts, and their softer sparkle seamlessly echoes the clarity of crystalline waters. The stone is embedded in an invisible Baguette-Cut Rose Gold setting, which perfectly complements the unique and timeless hexagonal shape. Rose de France is a tribute to France —Selim Mouzannar’s home at heart — and to the unrivaled craftsmanship of the lapidaries of Haut-Jura, where the art of manually guiding the light inside the stone with millimetric precision has been passed-on from father to son for three centuries.
The purity that a fjord’s crystalline water radiates is the sensation that Selim Mouzannar sought to replicate with his work on Step Cuts such as the Emerald Cut found in his Gemma collection. That cut of architectural purity was significative of Art Deco models since the early years of the past century. He explored the seamless geometry of the hexagonal shape.

The entire range of emotions and messages contained in a jewel is demonstrated by the Link collection, which takes as its starting point the link of a round, oval, or rectangular shaped chain with round lines. This link is available in either silver or ebony, bare or paved with black, brown or white diamonds. It attaches to others to form a necklace or bracelet of several shades of steel, rust or earth tones. This deliberately raw line, symbolizes an ideal form of thinking: human solidarity in its diversity, where feelings are expressed without artifice.

It is undoubtedly the inspiration Selim Mouzannar drew from the flowers that cover the walls of houses in his neighbourhood of Achrafieh in spring that led him to name his new line Gemma; a bud in the true sense of the word, a metaphorical precious stone.
The rectangular emerald cut, with its four corners and symmetrical facets, is a peaceful one for reflection, revealing its clarity. the rarity of the emerald- cut coloured stones selected by Selim makes each individual Gemma ring unique.
Nature is Selim’s main source of inspiration, and he likes to travel through the mineral world of each precious stone just as he likes to roam among the colours of nature in all its abundance.

SELIM MOUZANNAR
Having known the life of ruby miner son the Myanmar border early in his career, he is also a non-violence activist and is uncompromising when it comes to the ethical provenance of his stones.
A one-man bridge between East and West alone, this Franco-Lebanese jeweler first experienced the wonders of his profession in the bustling souks of pre-war ComingBeirut.
from a dynasty of experts tracing back to the 19th century, Selim Mouzannar inherited a romantic penchant for Ottoman jewelry. He is passionate about so-called “semi-precious” stones first and foremost because he considers them to be fundamentally natural. Tanzanites, aquamarines, tourmalines, sapphires … These gemstones inspire his collections through their rarity and their incredible colors.
Given that he is not particularly fond of flashy flamboyance, Selim Mouzannar strives to soften the light of the gems by practicing the old cut known as “Flemish” or “rose cut.” He set his stones in nests of silky enamel; a know-howwhich, added to the keen eye of the gemologist, defines the elegance of his creations. Selim Mouzannar is alover of the sea; he displays and advocates an optimism and a“joie de vivre” which are reflected in his creations through which he regularly pays homage to the Mediterranean.
