We are blessed to have a really great group of kids in Chippewa County that are interested in the beef program. You know when your blessed with the lot 1 tag, greatness is waiting. Always my hardest footnote to write especially when she has spent some time in the show barn. Daleigha was shown by Kinslee as a baby and was a class winner at the 2024 MN State Fair. Class winning honors were also accompanied by Champion Produce of Dam with her brother Off Roadin’ (Last years Jewels high selling bull who now resides in North Carolina) in honor of Dalilah. Quickly a barn favorite for her quirky personality and resemblance of Dalilah as a baby, Daleigha has matured into the most beautiful female and if she continues the trajectory of her sisters and mother, I can’t wait to see what she looks like after calving. One’s this good, we can’t let completely go and are retaining half embryo interest in Daleigha. We think she is the next generation of great Dalilah’s and would love to stay part of that journey. With the untimely passing of Dalilah last year, we are down to the last few daughters we have out of her and where these girls really shine is when they enter production. Ivy, along with her full and maternal sister, were members of our Champion Pen in Denver where judges Scott Werning and Kelly Schmidt commented about the overall quality of the pen but the baldy (Ivy) takes it to another level of special. (As a side note, Ivy’s Denver pen sisters have done some special things as well that you will get to see in the near future.) After Denver, Ivy made a quick entry into the donor program where she is flat out raising the bar and setting her donor pen mates into panic mode trying to keep up. The first time we got the clippers on this chi haired Ivy daughter that came out of the ET coop herd in late September was on picture day and after about 10 minutes I turned to Amanda and said, “nope, not in the sale we can keep clipping on her but she isn’t selling.” As you can see I don’t get to call all the shots when it comes to the open heifers in Jewels. This one is going to be at the back drop and we can’t wait to be there to help and cheer on the family that gets her. There are a lot of people that maybe don’t know who Blue Ivy is right now but give us a year or so and she is certainly going to be a household name. Put A Ring On It commanded everyone’s attention that laid eyes on her when she topped the 2023 Jewels sale at a $54,000 valuation selling to Latzig Cattle Co. We did one ivf on her before we bred her that following spring and these 2 show stoppers are a result of that mating to the bull that owned the show ring that year, Coping With Destiny. We had some of the high hopes for this mating and when they hit the ground, we were in awe from day one. Every time I walk into the pen to feed Princess Cut, I just can’t help but look down and admire her huge paws and the way her back leg flexes and sets down. It is way far out there for a purebred Simmental. Going up from there, her huge sweeping rib and the way her neck comes out of her shoulder is equally as impressive. This one is going to make noise in the show ring and just as fun in the donor pen whether you continue to breed her purebred or go Angus, Maine or something else fun to make killer half bloods. Bordeaux. The liquid embodiment of French confidence—smooth, complex, and slightly judgmental about your choice of when supper will be delivered. We started using Unleashed the first chance we had the opportunity and probably used more of him than any herd in the country because he makes cattle that are our kind. A notch stouter, easy keeping, functional yet extremely eye appealing. The kind that look good in the show ring but even more impressive when they are nursing their first calf.
