The season will run from July 8 through August 17, with a family day on that Saturday, August 17. Anyone 15 and over is invited to come play! Our first meeting and practice will be on Wednesday, June 5th. Meet at the church for a short meeting, and then lets play ball! Join the fun as EBCC makes a showing at the Loons Baseball Family Night on Thursday, August 29. Game time is 7:05 pm. Everyone is welcome. Family Night concessions have specials for $1. Tickets are $9 per person. Because of the interest in the game, your tickets must be pre-paid. We have 50 tickets, and they will be reserved on a first-paid basis. All money must be in by Sunday, August 4 to guarantee your tickets.

Summer Giving to EBCC Where will you be going this summer? Everyone enjoys a chance to get away. It may be to the cabin, or to that favorite adventure. As you travel, remember to keep current on your tithe! There are several ways that you can do that. Use an envelope on Sunday by placing it in the plates when the offering is received, or mail it in during the week. This option will always be available. Use your bank’s website to arrange for a check to be sent automatically to EBCC on your own schedule. Most banks offer this service for free. Give online anytime on our website at essexvillebaptist.com. Just click “Give Online.” You can also just scan this QR code with your smartphone or mobile device. Learn more about scheduled giving. It is very convenient and simple. Maybe you automate some of your regular bills already. This same thing can be done with your tithe as well through the online option. God is doing some great things in our church, and you have a part in what He is doing. Our church is supported by our regular givers. Thank you for being one of them. Thanks for investing in eternity!

Church Council Highlights The regularly scheduled meeting of the Church Council was on Monday, May 20. Nineteen members were present, as well as five others and Dr. Landis. Dr. Landis explained the process he would be following with the congregation as a consultant from ABC-MI. There will be two townhall type meetings to gather information and present some findings. He will then lead the Council through one or two retreats to create a plan to move into the future. The boards gave repots from meetings that each board held separately throughout the month. Missions: The One Great Hour of Sharing Offering has been collected through the month of May. Shoebox items to bring in July will be school supplies. The missions board will be setting up and tearing down tables for Royal Family Kids Camp that will be using EBCC as their drop-off location this year. Christian Ed: VBS planning is on schedule. Deacons: We continue to visit the shut-ins monthly and bring them a newsletter. Discussed helping some specific families from the Sunshine Fund. Trustees: A deposit check has been sent to Bay Glass to begin the installation of the entryway windows. The work will be done sometime in June. When the entryways are completed the colored glass inserts for the sanctuary windows will be next. An outside accountant has reviewed the financial records and his report affirms how well the process meets recommendations and the records are in order. There will not be a regular council meeting in June due to the Town Hall Meeting. Boards are encouraged to schedule a meeting on their own as needed.

One Call Now App Available The prayer chain and notification system that EBCC uses is One Call Now. One Call is an automated system that allows the church to send the same message to everyone that needs to know. Prayer calls are able to give everyone the same information. Meeting reminders, changes or cancellations communicate to everyone in your group. You can even tell us how many from your family will be coming to the church potluck! The desire is to better communicate with one another! One Call Now has added a new feature. There is an app for that! And it is free! Available for most iOS and Android devices, it allows people who receive messages to forward them and add calendar entries directly from the messages. Push notifications for incoming messages alert the receiver to waiting messages. Find it at Google Play or the App Store. If you would like to be added to the One Call List for EBCC, please talk to Pastor Richard. Page 7
