Dear Parents, Alumni and Friends, Thank you for joining us on this special evening. We are thrilled to welcome you to the 34th Annual STARS Gala Auction. This year’s theme of “Catch the Spirit” embodies what this evening will bring, an opportunity for us to channel our energy for the benefit of our students. Tonight, we catch the spirit of generosity to support our students’ capacity to thrive as members of our community. We will also celebrate the joy of having the Holy Spirit guide our lives and witness what the fruits of the Spirit can do for our community. Each day, we have the chance to see the impacts our students make on each other and on the world. So far this school year, our students have participated in 18,391 service hours, raised $3,807 for charity, participated in blood drives, built shelters in New Orleans and collected food for those in need. Now is our opportunity to raise needed funds to make positive impacts in support of our students as part of a virtuous circle. Our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thank you goes to our Auction Co-Chairs Mitch and Carrie Parrish and to the amazing volunteers who contributed their time and talent to make this evening a success. Our community is indebted to Director of Special Events Mayten Gross and Advancement Associate Joji Siegel who served as guiding lights to help us create an unforgettable evening. The community gathered here tonight represents the margin of excellence that makes Eastside Catholic exceptional. We look forward to your generous and spirited bidding and thank you in advance for all you have and continue to do for Eastside Catholic.

Sincerely, Gil Picciotto President

Dear Eastside Catholic Family, On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we welcome you to the 2019 STARS Gala Auction – “Catch the Spirit!” What an exciting night this will be for all who will gather together to support our wonderful Eastside Catholic School and celebrate our community! It is because of your shared spirit and financial support that our school continues to thrive and be an outstanding Catholic school in the Pacific Northwest. Each year, we host a "Making a Difference" moment that allows us to raise the funds needed to make a powerful and lasting financial commitment to an aspect of the school that is fundamental to our touchstones of academic excellence, servant leadership and relationships. This year our "Making a Difference" moment will support school-wide tuition assistance. In line with our mission, Eastside Catholic commits a sizable portion of the operating budget to ensure that a broad range of students have access to a quality, Catholic education. Special thanks go to the Auction Co-Chairs Carrie and Mitch Parrish and Director of Special Events Mayten Gross and Advancement Associate Joji Siegel, for their gift of leadership. They, along with the auction committee and volunteers, have worked diligently to make this year’s gala one to remember. We look forward to sharing a wonderful evening together. Blessings, Mauricio A. Uribe Board of Trustees Chair

It’s a fun and frantic dash to grab your favorite dessert! Decide which tasty dessert on display in the Grand Ballroom strikes your table’s sweet tooth fancy. Simply fill out the pink Dessert Dash bid sheet on your table, pass it around and tally up your combined bids into a single table bid total. Remember, the higher your total bid, the greater your table’s chance to dash for your choice of dessert first! After the Live Auction “Making a Difference” effort, the auctioneer will announce the highest to lowest Dessert Dash table bid order. Once called, your table’s dessert dasher should quickly make their way to the dessert table before another dasher takes your table’s favorite choice. Once all tables have been announced and desserts have been claimed, staff will happily cut, plate and serve your favorite sweet treat.

“Catch the Spirit” with this whimsical centerpiece! A high flying balloon is reaching for the heavens while supporting a beautiful glass bird. Each bird was lovingly created by junior and senior EC students enrolled in glass fusing and advanced glass fusing classes this semester. The bird is trailed by a waterfall of silk ribbons and a comet of twinkling lights, all tethered to earth by a gold box brimming with a fun mix of paper and fresh carnations.

Mystery Wine Take a chance for only $35! Mysterious wine bottles will be on display with each bottle disguised so as not to reveal its identity. We can, however, reveal that this top-secret collection is made up of both red, white and rosĂŠ wines all retailing for $25 or more. The outstanding selection ranges from delicious table wines to premium bottles. Write down your bid number and choose your mystery bottle. Mystery Gift Cards and Certificates Also only $35, the gift card and gift certificate board offers a variety of exciting prizes including retail, dining, movies, performances and other fun experiences. You are sure to pick something you will enjoy. Prizes are valued at $20 to $100 each. There is no limit to the number of entries you can purchase or the number of mystery prizes you can win!

Representatives from Kendra Scott, LLC join us to present the Kendra Scott Mystery Boxes. For $65, you can choose one or more mystery boxes. Inside each mystery box is Kendra Scott jewelry valued at $50 or more (up to $200) for you to take home. Play the game as many times as you like. Kendra Scott is a billion dollar fashion brand loved globally and known for unique use of color and quality materials. You can visit Kendra Scott online as well as at their Bellevue Square location.

Purchase a $100 raffle ticket for a chance to win your pick of one of the Live Auction items! Only 100 tickets will be sold, so hurry to buy your tickets! You must be present to win. The following items are excluded from Best of Live: #23 – Seattle Seahawks President's Suite Experience for Four #24 – Vacation Home Stay on the Pacific Ocean in Rancho Playa Negra, Costa Rica

Join us at the start of the Live Auction to play a fun game of chance! For $20 per play, you can win fifty percent of the “Heads or Tails” pot in the form of a credit to be used at tonight’s auction. This credit is good for tonight only and must be used toward items in Silent, Live, Silent Spectacular or Making a Difference donations. Any unused credit will be donated to Eastside Catholic. Please note exclusions below. How it works: Purchase up to three bead necklaces (“chances”) during the Silent Auction for $20 each. The game will begin in the Grand Ballroom at the start of the Live Auction. Before the toss of the coin by our auctioneer, simply place your hands on your head if you think the coin will land “heads” up, or on your bum if you are guessing “tails.” Remain standing until the next play – you must take off a necklace each time you guess incorrectly and sit down once you have played all your chances. Stay standing if you’ve made the correct guess. Sit down if you are out. Last person standing is the winner! The following items are excluded from Heads or Tails: #23 – Seattle Seahawks President's Suite Experience for Four #24 – Vacation Home Stay on the Pacific Ocean in Rancho Playa Negra, Costa Rica

Each year, Eastside Catholic commits a significant portion of the operating budget to tuition assistance to ensure that a broad range of students have an opportunity to receive a quality Catholic education regardless of their financial resources. Providing tuition assistance ensures a community that reflects a culturally rich and diverse population, attracts a multi-talented student body and secures Eastside Catholic’s legacy of providing an exceptional academic experience. We are counting on the support of our compassionate community and generous donors who understand the value of an outstanding, faith-based, college preparatory education. Please open your hearts and help us raise $225,000 towards tuition assistance.
