The Eastside Catholic STARS Gala Auction is a special evening where we come together as a community to celebrate, create lasting memories and invest in the future of our students. More than just a fun night out, this event is an opportunity to support our mission — ensuring that every student, regardless of financial circumstances, has access to an exceptional Catholic education.
At Eastside Catholic, we believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of a student’s potential. Our Making a Difference initiative this year is dedicated to Tuition Assistance, helping families who dream of providing their children with a faith-based, academically rigorous education but need financial support to make it possible. Having worked as a news anchor and reporter for 26 years in some of the country’s largest markets, including Seattle, Boston, Miami and Baltimore, Matt developed an audience engagement style all his own.
He has a true passion for hosting fundraising events for nonprofit organizations. Elisha Pa’aga ‘14 Director of Student Life, Eastside Catholic School
Elisha joined the Eastside Catholic staff in 2020 and is the Director of Student Life. Elisha is also an assistant coach for varsity football and flag football. Elisha earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Central Washington University in 2019. He also played football for five years in college during which time his team won three conference championships.
As a member of the Class of 2014, he participated in a range of activities at EC, including ASB leadership, football and choir.
In his spare time, Elisha loves to play his guitar, sing and cook. His favorite part about working at Eastside Catholic School is the people, “because they make everybody feel at home.”

Dessert Dash
It’s time for dessert!
The Dessert Dash is a fun and delicious way to satisfy your sweet tooth.
• First, designate a “dasher” to run to the dessert table.
• Second, pass the Dessert Dash bid sheet around your table. Each person writes their bid number and their bid amount. Volunteers will come to your table to collect your bid sheet and tally up your table’s total bid amount.
The auctioneer will announce when it’s time for dessert.
He will call the runner from each table to an area by the dessert table. When your table number is called, your dasher will run to the dessert table as quickly as possible, select a dessert and bring it back to your table.
The banquet staff will deliver plates and utensils to your tables to enjoy your well-earned dessert.
Bid high and don’t let your favorite dessert get away. Remember to watch out for those elbows, dashers!
