Fellowship
Mission: To recognize the importance of being together as the Body of Christ. To provide intergenerational opportunities for Eastminster members and friends to gather for fellowship, food and fun. The Fellowship Committee serves as the umbrella committee for: P.E.P., EPW, the Kitchen Ministry, the Decorating Team, the Sportsmen’s Banquet, the Advent Retreat, and other church-wide opportunities.
Accomplishments in 2020:

• This year’s Advent Retreat was hosted as a 1 day event at Sesquicentennial State Park with over 80 people (youth, children and adults) in attendance. • Supported ‘Picnic in the Park’ in the fall to encourage fellowship amongst member. • Supported the CORE retreat • Supported the disbursement of 6,795 meals to members during our Tuesday/ Thursday meal drive-through service • Supported “Movie in the Field” event during 3 weeks of November with around 30 people at each event • PEP sponsored Christmas gift for 7 women at Samaritan’s Well (Zoo memberships and gift cards) and 3 families at Family Promise (gifts and gift cards) • 3 new PEP officers – Mark McGregor (Treasurer), Henry Price (Vice-Chair), Starr Lawson (Chair) • Purchased 2 park benches for Presbyterian Communities, sponsored a food truck for Laurel
Crest, and purchased a karaoke machine and 4 outdoor tables for Still Hopes to facilitate fellowship and spread a little joy at these retirement communities during the COVID slowdown • EPW hosted a wonderful JOY Gift Tea in December.
Goals for 2021:
• Continue to provide opportunities for church wide fellowship through congregational meals and celebration of special events in the life of the Eastminster family. New options being considered for fellowship include a chili cook-off and use of the field across the street from our sanctuary. • Host an Advent Retreat-style event this spring to encourage engagement and fellowship. • Plan and support the Advent Retreat to help the Eastminster congregation prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus. • Assist with the Eastminster Courtyard Easter Celebration and plan and host the Eastminster Adult Vacation Bible School next summer with NED. • Create an ‘Empty Nesters’ fellowship opportunity • Continue to support PEP’s monthly lunch programs and trips. Efforts are continuing to find new officers and Planning Team members. • Continue to support EPW and sponsored events and studies (including a 1 day retreat in February 2021) associated with this ministry.
