Mission: To maintain and develop Eastminster’s facilities and property as an important part of our vibrant ministry
Accomplishments in 2020:
Advertisement
• Painted Painted the exterior of Thompson Hall and all light posts on campus. • Added a new glass door entrance for safety to the Drop-In/Nursery area of the CLC. • Replaced the flooring in the Drop-In/Nursery area of the CLC. • Assisted the Day School with painting the classrooms and replaced flooring in all Day School rooms on campus. • Replaced the two air handler units for the second floor of the
Administration Building. • Weekly Weeders and the Yard Teams continue to provide excellent assistance with keeping our campus looking good. Property Committee has also provided additional yard maintenance for rough terrain areas of campus and the pruning of the crepe myrtles on campus. Installed two trees at the entrance of the Medway parking lot to replace two trees that had died. • Established a relationship with a new vendor, Mecklenburg Roofing, for roof repairs and made repairs to a majority of our leaks on campus. Also, established an annual maintenance contract with Mecklenburg. • Resurfaced the entire pavement on campus and patched areas needed. In addition, pavement was restriped for parking. • Purchased four electrostatic sprayers to be used on campus after meetings to sanitize from COVID-19.
Also, ordered and maintained other supplies, such as sanitizing stations, gloves, masks, etc. so the church could open back up for services. • Installed electrostatic air filters in the Sanctuary and Thompson Hall HVAC units to help with removing contaminated particles from the air. • Updated the Simplex Fire System to provide better communication between the two fire panels on campus. • Installed surge protectors to the main electrical panels in the Sanctuary based on the advice of an electrical engineer. • Painted and updated the front sign with the new ministers who have joined the staff. • Installed closets in rooms 271 and 273 of the Christian Life Center to assist with equipment storage and the aesthetics of the rooms.
Goals for 2021:
• Hire a Director of Plant Operations. (Completed March 30, 2021 - Alex Rogers) • Review insurance proposals received at the end of 2020 through a bid process and recommend to the
Session the desired provider. • Replace the roof top units on the Christian Life Center. • Conduct a fire drill during a Sunday morning so officers can be trained. • Paint the exterior of the Sanctuary Building. • Replace the carpet on the second floor of the Christian Education Building. • Paint the classrooms on the second floor of the Christian Education Building. • Begin developing a plan for the replacement of second half of the windows in the Administration Building. • Installation of handicapped (ADA) doors around campus. • Complete repairs to the Sanctuary roof.
