


Strengthening Families is an evidence-based family skills training program for high-risk and general population families. Parenting skills of bonding, setting boundaries and monitoring is designed for all parents who need to improve family relationships and develop a prevention program to keep their kids safe from alcohol and drug use. Children and teens attend their own group and then come back with their parents for a joint family session to practice what they have learned.
Goals of this group is to:
Increase youth school grades.
Increase youth social competencies.
Increase youth cooperation.
Increase number of prosocial friends.
Increase family bonding.
Increase parental involvement.
Increase positive parenting skills.
Increase positive communication.
Increase family organization
Decrease family conflict.
Decrease youth depression and aggression.
Available for up to 10 families.
Sessions are 2 hours weekly, for 14 weeks.
