The Lizard’s Tale

Ring Day 2014 took place on Friday February 28, 2014. The class of 2015 would like to give a thanks to many people. Coach Phil Vega for doing a fantastic job organizing The 2014 Ring Day Ceremony. Alex Clark for singing the National Anthem. JROTC for doing the Presentation of Colors. There were four teachers that got awards and they were Mrs. Terry Thone, Mr. Richard Niven, Mrs. Debbie Murphy, and Mrs. Chrystal Vega. The Ring Committee was Easton Carter, Mario Rivera, Mary Kathryn Cruse, Dakota Thomas, Olivia Tilley, and Tyler Calavitha. The class of 2015 class officers are Nicole Luna as President, Destinee Moughon as Vice President, and Makalka Level as Sectary and Treasure.

Teacher of the Month Meagan Allen I teach Algebra I, Quiz Bowl coach, and a Beta sponsor. In my free time I go sky diving, I am a Professional poker player, and just general awesomeness. What I would say to motivate the student body would be “Find a goal and pressure it… don’t quit just because the journey gets tough.”


Summer School Information:

The office will take summer school registration beginning the day after Spring Break. Cost for all remedial semester is $85.00 per semester. Drivers’ Education costs $150. Fees are payable in full at the time of registration. Our Board of Education does allow a down payment of $35.00 to hold a spot for you and two payments during April and May of the balance. The entire $85.00 must be paid prior to June. Partial payments may not be refunded. There is no pay out plan for Drivers’ Education. There is zero tolerance for absences, tardies, discipline situations in summer school. The student will be removed from class; tuition is

Music Enrichment Program

On Monday the 10th, After school guitar performed for the school board members. 11 students graduated from the music enrichment program. The students worked with Clay Hooten, band director, after school on Wednesdays for eight weeks to learn five chords on the guitar. “We started with 14 and graduated 11,” Hooten said. “That’s pretty good. I warned them they’d have to get through the first two weeks with thier fingers bleeding and hurting. They did not believe me at first.” Hooten led the group in a performance for the school board Monday evening. The group performed “Amazing Grace” and a cover of Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried.” Following the performance, the students were awarded a certificate of completion. The students who graduated were Jose Castelano, Jonathan Helms, Luck Bartlett, Tyler Colley, Katherine Castilla, Saidy Diaz, Sam Johnson, Yuritzi Ramirez, Rebecca Henderson, Jesus Mendez and Hayden Cotton.
