Summer School Information:

The office will take summer school registration beginning the day after Spring Break. Cost for all remedial semester is $85.00 per semester. Drivers’ Education costs $150. Fees are payable in full at the time of registration. Our Board of Education does allow a down payment of $35.00 to hold a spot for you and two payments during April and May of the balance. The entire $85.00 must be paid prior to June. Partial payments may not be refunded. There is no pay out plan for Drivers’ Education. There is zero tolerance for absences, tardies, discipline situations in summer school. The student will be removed from class; tuition is not refunded.

Trip to Hawaii planned: A private trip (non-school sponsored) is being planned to Hawaii over Spring Break. See Mrs. Pierce in BOB II for information. Credit Recovery: Dates January 13-March 3rd. Meets Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 3:30-6:30 for 20 days. IN PROGRESS Ring Day is February 28th at 2:30 p.m. Grades 9-11 and guest will attend this event. On February 28th, seniors are dismissed for the day at the beginning of 7th period. Enjoy your free hour!! Talent show: Dardanelle’s Downtown Renaissance Committee is sponsoring a talent show on Saturday , March 15th, sing, dance, play an instrument or in a band, you are encouraged to enter. First, second, third place winners. Application in office. Do it~! Fun and helpful to our town.

Congratulations to Clay Hooten Dardanelle Band Director!! Arkansas River Valley Tri-Peaks (Yell County) Tourism Award. For his continued effort and support of The Arkansas Jazz Festival coming to our area. Again congratulations Clay! What an honor this is for Dardanelle, Dardanelle School District and Dardanelle Area Chamber of Commerce.

Teacher of the Month Mrs. Gray

is created and designed by the following EAST students: Aaliyah Brousseau and Melanie Navarrete.

I teach CBA (Computer Business Application), Accounting I and Accounting II. I also sponsor Student Council and serve as a head advisor for the freshman group. In my free time, I enjoy working on our family farm with my husband. We enjoy visiting with our children and other friends and family, hiking trails on Mt. Nebo & Petit Jean, attending cattle sales and auctions. We also enjoy volunteering for community activities and fundraisers as well as taking active leadership roles in in community organizations. Take advantages of the wonderful “free” education that Dardanelle Schools provides. Education will make life easier!


College Guidance at Dardanelle: Monday March 3

Dardanelle High School has a proud reputation of being a school geared toward building it’s Students’ reservoirs of college-minded performance and education. DHS molds students in preparation for all facets of the college experience, and runs many programs in coordination with other colleges in order to properly send Sand Lizards Seniors on the collegiate path. Dardanelle will now be adopting the College Goal program, taking place at 6 p.m. on Monday March 3. The school will have several stations set up in the cafeteria and library where highly experienced and qualified Admissions officers will assist outgoing seniors and their parents in completing applications for colleges and scholarships alike. All seniors and parents are invited and urged to take hold of this opportunity and use it to the utmost as the tool for preparation that it is.

Attention Seniors! 

 

Order caps and gowns are $50.00 and orders will have to be placed in Jostens Office. No one can participate in the commencement ceremony without the required Cap and gown. Our College Goal Monday is 6 p.m. on Monday, March 3rd, cafeteria and library. Highly qualified college admissions officers will help you and your parent get your applications finished. All seniors and parents need to be present! February 28th is deadline for ATU academic and foundation scholarships! All applications, shot records, transcripts, and letters of recommendation must be on file with ATU by this date in order for you to be considered. Francis Cowger Scholarship—available to a DHS senior. Based on academic history and financial need. Applications are with advisors. The Cowger family likes this money to go to a senior already showing excellent work ethic and who has a high possibility of completing college and, yet, has financial need not served by other scholarships. The deadline is February 28th! All seniors must fill out fassa application online. All college bound students must fill out the Universal Scholarship Application online. This is one step to the Lottery Challenge Scholarship and all other scholarship offered by colleges. Baptist Health Schools in Little Rock are offering degrees or certificates in a number of health related fields: nursing, laboratory, imaging, therapy, sleep technology, surgical technology. Mrs. Hudgeons and advisors have information on contacting this entity.
