ABOUT IMPORT AND EXPORT CODE

IEC Stands for Import and Export Code.

The registration for IEC code required for those organizations/entities who are

importing or exporting goods and services from/to India. dealing in

It is a 10 Digit unique code issued by directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT) of commerce and industries ministry of government of India. Recently, GOI announced PAN shall be work as IEC code in order to enhance the ease of doing business subject to registration.

IEC is valid for lifetime that means once issued can be used by the business entity throughout the existence of the entity and there is no renewal or filing issue.

As per foreign trade policy in India, every importer and exporter is required to get IEC code to start import and export from India.

Without IEC, no importer and exporter are authorised to do import and export business.
