What made you decide to pursue a career in the PGA of America, and how long have you been a PGA member?
I have been a PGA member since 1991. I really enjoyed teaching and knew that PGA membership would give me the credibility and knowledge to pursue that particular career.
Talk about being a PGA of America member, what it means, and having PGA after your name.
Until I had been a member for several years, I hadn’t realized how respected the PGA status was. It just identifies you as someone who has achieved a high level of competence in the business and game of golf. I’m so proud to be a member.
What wisdom can you offer about golf careers and the importance of becoming a PGA member/achieving membership status?
Again, PGA membership identifies you as someone who has done the work, put in the time, and passed the tests required to achieve PGA status. It is well worth the effort.
Can you provide any accolades or recognition?
2006 - Tri-State PGA Teacher of the Year
2015 - Youth Player Development Award
2020 - XXIO Player of the Year
2024 - Deacon Palmer Award
