What made you decide to pursue a career in the PGA of America, and how long have you been a PGA member?
I originally went to Shippensburg University to become a school teacher. I was told I could marry business and teaching as a golf professional. Three PGA Professionals, Sean Parees and Art Ferrara as well as Sam Depe Junior were instrumental in me chasing membership. In addition, Bob MacWhinnie, who is still a great Amateur player also encouraged me to envision this career. I have been a member for more than 25 years.

Talk about being a PGA of America member, what it means, and having PGA after your name.
Growing up, PGA Professionals were heroes: Sam Depe, Phil Newcamp, Bob Ford, Terry George, John Rech, far too many to mention. I am amazed I have the same credentials as they do and that I may make a small impact is very important.
What wisdom can you offer about golf careers and the importance of becoming a PGA member/achieving membership status?
I think becoming a PGA Member should be harder. I think once achieved, the rigors will only serve to remind each member how hard, how important, and how educational the steps to obtaining member status are to your career. Take pride in the letters, take pride in the relationships, and always try to improve the profession.
Can you provide any accolades or recognition?
Youth Player Development Award, Tri-State PGA (2017)
Served on the Tri-State PGA Board
Host of Rich Conwell Golf Show--three seasons and still counting
