Where are we going

NORTH WALES TOUR

We are going on a journey into another country! Although Wales is only a 1.5 hour drive from Manchester, and is part of the UK, it is a country with it’s own strong identity. It even has a different language! You will notice this on the signs when we arrive. The people of Wales are very proud of their culture, language and traditions. Today we will experience and share this with them :)

North Wales is a spectacular region, with a huge range of different landscapes to admire, including beautiful beaches, medieval towns and stunning mountains. Today, we will see some of the best! Prepare yourself for a wonderful and unique journey.

What is the plan

• Llandudno - ‘The Queen of Welsh resorts’ The largest seaside resort in Wales. This a beautiful Victorian town with a perfect crescent bay and traditional buildings lining the promenade. We will have time to stroll alongthe famous pier or walk down to the beach.

• Conwy - A walled medieval town with a huge castle! This will be our lunch stop. You can choose to join your leader for a walk around the walls, explore the town for yourself, or if you want to, you can visit the castle (entrance approx. £11.10) Also, don’t miss the smallest house in the UK!

• Snowdonia National Park - We will drive through the amazing scenery of Snowdonia, taking the chance to stop and enjoy a walk into the mountains :) This is the REAL North Wales!

Local delights

• Welsh Cakes - Delicious sweet snacks. Best eaten warm with butter, but you can esat them cold too!

• Bara Brith - ‘Speckled Bread’ Best with a cup of tea!

• Welsh rarebit - Not to be confused with ‘Rabbit’! Welsh rarebit is a delicious light snack. A unique cheese sauce is poured over thick slices of bread to make a delightfully moreish dish!
