A local soccer club have hosted a fundraiser to help a local family cover expenses associated with bringing their son to Switzerland for treatment. Four-year-old Daniel Boyce from Ashling Crescent has been diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, which means he has tumours in both eyes. Having been initially treated in Temple Street Children’s hospital Daniel was subsequently referred to a specialist clinic in Switzerland which he has already attended twice since Christmas. It costs Daniel’s parents Paul Boyce and Pauline Dolan €1350 to travel to Switzerland and when a manager of a local underage soccer team heard about Daniel’s plight he

Bryan to go pro By Paul Byrne Local athlete Bryan McCrystal has decided to return to his professional sportsman roots by taking out a professional ironman licence. The former Leeds Utd footballer has spent the last number of years mixing it with some of the best triathletes in the world and his performances in 2016 have given him the belief and confidence to take out a pro licence for the ironman circuit.
