Unable to look after himself A man who had too much to drink on a work night out ended up being arrested as he was unable to look after himself. James Gavaghan of Coolfore, Carrickmacross, Monaghan, was given the benefit of the

Probation Act after admitting a public order offence following an incident on December 19 last. The court heard that at 4.05am Gardai in Dundalk came across the defendant who was

11

highly intoxicated and unable to mind himself. Solicitor, Conor MacGuill, stated that the 29-year-old was on a work night out and got too drunk. There was nothing more sinister than that. He added that

his client apologised and was grateful to the Gardai for looking after him. Judge Flann Brennan told Mr Gavaghan not to do anything like this again as he applied the Probation Act.
