From our Head of College Dear Parents and Guardians, May is Mental Health Awareness Month and today, our students across the school had a morning (Primary School) and an afternoon (Senior School) dedicated to wellbeing. Students were engaged in various activities including yoga, clay play, sports, art and singing together, to name a few. We continue to welcome parents for fun events such as Donuts with Dads and Sports Day. We had a nice sendoff for our Year 6 teacher, Ms Katherine Dark, who’s going on maternity leave and we wish her the very best. With June just around the corner, we have a series of upcoming events to share. While pared down to a smaller scale as we slowly reopen, Founder’s Day/Jubilee Celebration promises to be a fun day filled with games, music and a taste of global cuisine thanks to more than 20 countries represented by our parents who volunteered to bring food from their countries. I would like to thank members of the Friends of Dulwich (FoD) for helping to decorate our campus with Jubilee paraphernalia (the Queen herself has made an appearance near the MPR) and for parent reps and all the parents and staff who are working tirelessly to ensure our students have a wonderful experience on Founder’s Day. I’d also like to thank the British Deputy Ambassador, Nikesh Mehta, for agreeing to be a judge on the Founder’s Day bake-off. I had the privilege of attending a reception celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee hosted by H.E. British Ambassador to Korea Colin Crooks last night. The event was lovely and the group of guests were stunned by a sudden, unexpected appearance by the global K-pop sensation Blackpink, who are official advocates for COP 26, the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference. However, the most remarkable thing about the evening was Ambassador Crooks’ impeccable Korean, which he spoke interchangeably with English during his speech. I’m pleased to invite you to hear from him directly about his trajectory of being named ambassador to the two Koreas back to back.
