In this no-appointment process, please bring your library card and cell phone. If you do not have a cell phone, this is ok. There will be instructions outside of the library to help. Your full library card number will help ensure a quick and easy transaction!

Computer Use by Appointment

Main Library now offers one-hour appointments for the Computer Center. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 218-730-4203 during curbside hours. Same-day appointments may be available.

Due to social distancing, there is very limited computer assistance.

With your appointment, you will be able to: • Use a computer • Print (up to 10 pages) • Scan

Returns

Returns are now accepted 24/7 at the Main Library. There are bookdrops on the Michigan St. and Superior St. side of the library.

Winter Reading 2020-2021 A Winter Reading Program for all ages Tuesday, December 1 - Sunday, February 28 sign up starting December 1st at duluthlibrary.org

Youth:

Sign up to receive a winter reading activity bag! Bags for kids and teens can be picked up at the Main Library while supplies last.

Log your reading time, write book reviews, and complete activities to earn badges. With every badge you earn, you win electronic tickets that you can put into the grand prize drawing of your choice. All tickets must be electronically submitted by February 28th.

Noon Year’s Eve Zoom Dance Party!

Thursday, December 31, 2020 • 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Kids want to party like it’s 2021, too! Kids 2nd grade and younger are invited to celebrate 2021 at NOON instead of midnight! Join the dance party and ring in the new year with library staff and other families on Zoom! Register for a Noon Year’s Eve Family Party kit and pick it up at the library before the New Year’s Eve. Dance, play, shake, and create with us while safe at home. Register for your Party Kit starting December 1st on our events calendar at www.duluthlibrary.org.

Virtual Storytimes Baby & Toddler Storytime Tuesdays at 10:15 am Videos premiere on the ECRD Facebook page This storytime is a fun way to interact with babies, toddlers, and their grownups. Learn more about the library’s early literacy initiative Every Child Ready Duluth at www.everychildreadyduluth.org Preschool Storytime Wednesdays at 11:15 am Videos premiere on the DPL Facebook page Join Kristy each Wednesday morning at 11:15 for stories, songs, and fingerplays.

Story Strolls

Read a picture book page-by-page as you walk through the park. Take home a free book, craft kit, and other activities to continue enjoying the story together at home. This socially-distanced version of storytime will get your family reading and moving.

Introducing Dial-a-Story! Do you love listening to a good story? Call 218-626-6500 and choose a story read by familiar library staff. Stories are updated at the beginning of each month. Brought to you by Every Child Ready Duluth and the Duluth Library Foundation.

Let’s demonstrate our goodwill for others while having fun! Missions will all revolve around being kind and helping friends, neighbors, and the community we live in. See what other teams are doing in the activity feed! Starting Monday, November 23, 2020, download the Goosechase app to your smartphone and search for “Good Vibes Goosechase.” Enter the password Duluth and start playing! Win gift cards, books, and more! Prizes available only to Duluth and residents of the surrounding area.

Featured Databases

Curbside Crafts Take & Make for Kids Look for Curbside Crafts throughout the months of November and December. These kits are created for kids in grades K-5 and will feature a variety of fun & creative activities! Available during Curbside Pick-up hours—while supplies last!

Teen Craft Kits Specifically for teens, these kits include supplies needed to paint and create gifts for friends and family or just for yourself! Registration for the Teen Craft Kits will open on Monday, November 30th. The kits include paint, brushes, and materials to create 4 different painting projects.
