c ourage To Do greaT Thing S

Dear Friends,

We recently hosted our annual Academy open house for girls in 5th - 8th grade. It was wonderful to welcome these students and their families into our building and share with them our Sacred Heart mission.

As I chatted with one mother, she remarked how impressed she was that our students know so much about the history of our school, building, and, especially, our founding Religious of the Sacred Heart. I told her we stand on the shoulders of strong women.

All that we have at Duchesne is because of the hard work of women who came before us. We honor their sacrifices by doing our best to use our God-given gifts to improve this community and the world around us. That work requires courage and confidence.

This issue of Duchesne Today celebrates alumnae who set bold goals and achieved them through hard work and perseverance. This includes our preschool alumni who consistently find ways to help others near and far. All are excellent examples of our worldwide network of Sacred Heart alumnae who are leading positive change in their communities.

P raY er

Lord God, holder of my days, there is some special work in the world which will remain undone unless I do it. Help me to discover my gifts and give me the generosity to use them to benefit others.

Guide me to know that the gifts you have given me, if used well, will bring new life and blessings into the world. Empower me with the assurance that I am your beloved child, anointed to act with justice and compassion in a suffering world. Amen.

Adapted from a prayer by Mary Pat White, RSCJ

When our Academy alumnae started as new students they were excited, and maybe a little nervous, but they graduated Duchesne as faith-filled women ready for college and careers. As we welcome new students into our building, I’m filled with optimism about our school, community, and world because I believe this next generation of students will make a powerful difference.

Sincerely,

In October, our preschool children collected 2,424 size 1 diapers. They then partnered with Duchesne seniors and the Christ Child Society to fill diaper bags for local moms. What a meaningful interaction between our oldest and youngest Duchesne students! Preschool therapy dog, Wilbur, celebrated his 2nd birthday in September. In honor of his birthday, a service project for the Nebraska Humane Society collected used towels, blankets, and purchased items from the NHS wish lists on Amazon and Chewy.com. Eight families loaded their cars with the donations and delivered them to NHS. Serving others gives these little children a sense of pride and plants the seed for life-long service. Students use social media to build community on and off campus

In September, the account earned its 1,000th follower on Instagram.

The Inside Duchesne team has grown to include seven students, led by Natalie Moore A’23 and Kate Kelley A’24.

“Our team has put so much effort into providing new and exciting content, and it makes me so proud to see our hard work paying off in the form of increased followers and views,” Moore said.

hat started as a simple suggestion from a student has blossomed into one of Duchesne Academy’s most popular social media accounts. Inside Duchesne showcases life at Duchesne from the students' unique perspective on Instagram and TikTok. The account is entirely run by students, with guidance from Duchesne staff.

The account was the idea of Student Ambassador Mary Margaret Bausch A’21. Bausch was challenged by Admissions Director Lauren Mueller to think of new ways to share Duchesne’s story with prospective students.

“I loved the idea and we started almost instantly to figure out a way to make it work,” Mueller said.

After researching best practices for content creation and student safety, the account launched in December 2020, just ahead of the busy spring recruitment season. The account highlights the school’s extracurricular offerings, positive relationships between students and teachers, and celebrates the spirit of sisterhood that thrives in the hallways and student lounges at Duchesne.

Moore and her teammates say the account is an opportunity to connect with classmates and show their appreciation for each other and the school.

“This school is truly a community and I love coming here every day. My hope is that prospective students and families can feel this through the screen,” Kelley said.

The account has the ability to connect with prospective students in ways familiar to them, a major recruiting advantage, according to Mueller.

“As adults, we can tell students all day long about our clubs, sports, AP courses, and STEAM lab, but to be an eighth grader and see another teen show you their favorite place on campus is a level of authenticity that can’t be replicated.”

Duchesne Musicians Earn Statewide Honors

Madeline Bean A'26 (right) and Annie Heldridge A'25 (left) were named to the Nebraska All-State Orchestra. They are two of just 125 students selected to be a part of the 2022 All-State Orchestra. This is the fine arts equivalent of winning a state championship according to the Nebraska All-State Orchestra.

"Being accepted into the Nebraska All-State Orchestra is a true honor because it is an intense and vigorous audition process. These students worked hard and their efforts have paid off, and I am eager to hear what they learn and have to share with our other string musicians at Duchesne," said Music Director Katrina Pierce.

Duchesne is once again atop the high school golf world in Nebraska. The Cardinals won the Class B state championship in record-setting fashion to secure the school’s 9th state championship, tying the program with Scottsbluff High School for most all-time.

The team of Whitney Dahir A'26, Isabelle Gutschewski A'23, Kate Kelley A'24, June Mullen A'24, and Ella Wright A'23, set the 18hole Class B State scoring record (320) and the 36-hole Class B State scoring record (653).

The title is Head Coach Jeff Nielsen’s fifth, and he now ranks second all-time among Class B coaches.

State Champions! Shakespeare on the Terrace

The annual fall play was a production like no other in recent history at Duchesne: al fresco on the terrace. Students worked with Drama Director Mr. Thomas Becker and Guest Director Sarah Lynn Brown to present Macbeth. The cast and crew reimagined what a set could look like and relied on their collective creativity to produce a fantastic play. The shift in venue was required due to ongoing construction in the auditorium as it transforms into a state-of-the-art theater.

isa Smith Cimino A'83, moved past crowds of cheering fans on either side of her as AC/DC’s Back in Black blared around her. The final yards of a triathlon can be the most challenging - where months of training are put to the test. She moved at a steady pace and, despite her exhaustion, gave high-fives as she crossed the finish line.

There is a reason this is the world championships: the course is hilly and hot and the competition is the very best in the world. The race requires a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run.

“Probably the hardest course I’ve ever been on,” she said.

Her name flashed across the screen and a race attendant placed a medal around her neck marking perhaps her greatest achievement in the sport: completing the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, on October 6th, the premier event in the world of triathlon.

Her exhaustion gave way to joy.

11 Duchesne Today Fall 2022

A Different Type of Race

mith Cimino says she was not a prolific athlete during high school, but her time at Duchesne was not without a few high stakes races. She admits she would, on occasion, race down the nuns’ hallway to the fire escape slide.

“I would take new people down all the time, almost daily,” she said with a laugh.

When she wasn’t dodging them on her way down the hallway, Smith Cimino says she enjoyed learning from the nuns and admired their rapport with students.

“Sister Haggarty was clear about her expectations in class. We knew what we needed to do, and everyone was happy.”

These days she regularly gets together with classmates to talk about their families and reminisce about their time at Duchesne.

Family Support and Global Ambition

t was her brother Mike Smith's idea to compete in a triathlon on every continent. He had become hooked on the sport after Smith Cimino introduced him to it a few years earlier. “He said, 'I’m going to do one on every continent, are you going to do one, too?' Well yeah!”

That launched adventures to Arizona (2010 and 2012), Switzerland (2012), Florianopolis, Brazil (2014), Boulder, CO, (2015), Port Elizabeth, South Africa (2017), Busselton, Western Australia (2019), Cozumel, Mexico (2021), and Kazakhstan (2022).

(There is not a triathlon on Antarctica, but if there was she would find a way to be there.)

She placed high enough in her age group in Kazakhstan to qualify for the Hawaii race, the one she calls the Super Bowl of triathlons. Less than 5% of Ironman triathletes qualify for Hawaii each year.

Smith Cimino with her brother Mike, a Duchesne Preschool parent Smith Cimino in Hawaii

“I knew it was only eight weeks away and I would have some major planning to do, but you just don't turn down that opportunity. I was honored.”

Smith Cimino says her races are an opportunity to bond with her children. She tries to bring at least one of them with her to each race for support and to show them the world.

“I tell them you have the option to stay fit and healthy as you get older and that is my goal for them: show them they can be fit for life.”

After spending years earning multiple masters degrees and working as a mediator, she now trains and competes full-time. And after reaching the sport’s ultimate goal of completing the Kona Ironman, she’s returning to her “office” and resuming the training that keeps her ready for whatever, and wherever, her next competition takes her.

Duchesne recognized with Keep Nebraska Beautiful Environmental Awards

Keep Nebraska Beautiful has recognized Duchesne’s work to conserve resources and care for our common home. KNB presented Assistant Principal Eric Krakowski with the School Recycling Award and the School Award at its annual banquet in September.

Duchesne’s recycling and composting program has resulted in diverting nearly 80% of waste away from landfills and promoting a culture of responsible resources management on campus. The school was also recognized for its overall commitment to operating sustainably.

Since the implementation of the Sustainability Program following Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si, Duchesne has earned an Energy Star every year since 2016, installed solar panels to power its STEAM Lab, implemented programs for neighborhood recycling, and has incorporated sustainability curriculum into classes. In 2020 the United States Department of Education named Duchesne a Green Ribbon School.

Keep Nebraska Beautiful works across Nebraska to reduce waste, increase recycling efforts, and beautify our communities.

The newest girls on Duchesne’s campus are approximately 2 cm long and have wings. Two honeybee hives were installed on the roof of portry in April.

Local beekeeper, Mark Welsch, manages the hives and has worked hard to help them thrive. While the north hive has grown steadily, the south hive has had challenges. Welsch re-queened the hive and recently invited UNL extension agents to offer advice on the causes of the hive’s struggle. While we don’t have any definitive answers, the good news is that with some help, there is good reason to think it will survive the winter ahead.

Students are able to observe their Sacred Heart bee sisters through the plate glass overlooking their rooftop home. A new bee club has been organized by Claire Malone A'23, an amateur beekeeper with her grandfather.

While permission forms have been created to allow interested students to participate in a hive inspection, to date, they have all preferred to learn about the bees from the safety of the indoors.

No honey is expected in this first year, but we have great hope for the future harvest to share with all the friends of Duchesne!

On Saturday, January 28, 2023, we will open our doors and welcome parents, alumnae, and friends into our historic home once again for Congé. We will show off our school spirit, especially our fondness for Fairmont plaid, during an open house cocktail party.

In the early 1960s, Duchesne underwent a fashion revolution with the introduction of pleated skirts made with a bright, bold pattern not seen at any other high school in the city.

“These skirts instantly caught everyone’s eye. Fairmont is such a beautiful, proud pattern that I’m not surprised students have loved them from the start,” Duchesne Archivist Margo Bieker A’71, told me this summer.

How did we decide on this theme? Following Congé 2022, an alumna emailed me to say how much she appreciated our online auction which allowed her to participate from out-of-state. At the end of her email, she wrote: #FairmontForever. How could we pass on that?

This year’s event chairs are Kara and Tom Kelley, parents of Kate A’24, and Torey and John Reed, parents Emily A’24 and Kate A’24. We appreciate their support and vision for this event that already promises to be one for the books.

Congé 2022 had to be modified into a virtual event and still raised $545,000; we hope to surpass that amount this year. Duchesne, like other private high schools, has a growing need to provide tuition assistance for our students. Currently, three out of five Duchesne students receive financial support in the form of a scholarship or need-based aid. Simply put: Congé makes the dream of attending Duchesne possible for many of our students. In addition to providing financial aid, proceeds from this night support the school’s annual budget and operating expenses.

Please save the date for Congé 2023: Fairmont Forever. We can’t wait to see everyone back in the hallways of Duchesne celebrating our girls and Sacred Heart education in Omaha.

ocked in on the bullseye, students stand in a row and steady their aim, then slowly exhale. Suddenly the room is filled with the whoosh of arrows speeding through the air and the loud thump as they hit their targets.

Archery is one of the newest teams at Duchesne and in just a few short years has managed to grow its ranks and produce skilled archers. The sport demands mental strength, which attracted Sylvia Hutfless A’23 to the team.

“There is no real brute force to archery, no easy trick to get a bullseye every time. It all comes down to concentration and discipline, paying attention and making sure your routine of drawing and aiming is exactly the same as it was the time before,” said Hutfless.

A search of the archives reveals the story of archery at Duchesne begins in the 1930s. Numerous photos (see page 54) show smiling students posing with large bows at various locations around campus. The archery team now practices in the ballroom on the school’s ground floor. The only thing louder than arrows hitting their mark is the laughter as the team talks during practice.

“These students enjoy each other and the team. We celebrate each other's successes, talk about improving, and have a healthy amount of fun in the process,” says coach Rachel Connelly A’13, who teaches theology, Spanish, and programming.

The team had a banner year in 2022. The school recognized Archery as a varsity sport and Jamie Bond A’22, qualified for the National Archery in the Schools Program, International Bowhunting Organization 3D Challenge in Utah. Bond’s success continues to inspire her teammates.

“She helped me become the archer that I am today, and in every practice I try to live up to the example she set,” said Hutfless.

While these archers are driven to be their best, Hutfless says what they value most is the community.

“After a hard day at school, I look forward to practice more than anything. Being around the team is a surefire way to cheer me up. I know I can always turn to my team for support.”

Auditorium Transformation

Work is moving quickly, and progress is impossible to miss. The auditorium's floor and ceiling have been removed, and crews have begun the process to transform the space into a modern theater. A new lighting and audio system has been ordered and will help to enhance the audience’s experience at Duchesne productions. When complete, this space will also feature tiered seating with improved sightlines and a redesigned backstage area.

A BOLD STEP FORWARD CAMPAIGN UPDATES

A Bold Step Forward is the most ambitious campaign in Duchesne's history. With this effort, we will preserve, improve, and expand our historic campus, make major investments in classroom technology, and increase our endowment to help secure the future of Sacred Heart education in Omaha.

HISTORY PROJECT

hen presented with the opportunity to be the architects to design new and preserved spaces at Duchesne Academy, BVH Architect and Principal Cleveland Reeves and his team jumped at the chance.

“We restored the cathedral and so it is an honor to be able to work on another Kimball design with this chapel. The cathedral is an amazing structure, I think what Duchesne has is up a level from that,” Reeves said.

While the chapel is significantly smaller than Saint Cecilia Cathedral, its ornate architectural features and intricacy of its design make a worthy comparison. Now, BVH architects are planning to highlight the chapel's unique architectural features to celebrate Duchesne's history.

“We take advantage of what those can provide for us and integrate new contemporary architecture in a way that complements those historic elements,” Adam Sitzmann, BVH Architect/Associate said.

Blending the old and the new is a balancing act that produces beautiful, functional spaces, according to Cynthia Ray, BVH Interior Designer/Associate.

“It’s a beautiful building and our intent is to make it 100 percent relevant for today and 100 percent historic,” she said.

That concept of celebrating a rich history within a state-of-the-art space is coming to life in the theater. It will house new audio and light equipment, feature an expanded stage, and have modern seating that can adapt to many types of productions.

Functionality is crucial when creating spaces for students.

“The theater gives us an opportunity to respect the history of that space and even carry it forward with new functionality,” Reeves said. Duchesne administrators meet regularly with contractors, architects, consultants, and engineers to discuss the project’s progress. Administrators have set a target completion date of late spring for the chapel preservation. The theater renovation is on track to be completed before the start of the next school year.

Chapel Preservation

Almost immediately after convocation in August, the pews were removed to make way for improved and extended seating. Carpenters saved the decorative end caps and will add them to the new pews when they are reinstalled. This holy space will be restored to reflect the original design intent of its architect, the renowned Thomas Kimball. This includes repairing damaged plaster, improving lighting and audio systems, and highlighting design features that tell the story of the Religious of the Sacred Heart in America and Omaha.

Molly Fryda A'18, says her confidence to work with some of the biggest acts in the world comes from her time at Duchesne.

If you were one of the thousands of people in the crowd at Maha, the music festival in Omaha, you saw some of Molly Fryda’s work. She calls the shots as a stage manager and has worked with some of the music industry’s hottest acts including Lizzo, Thundercat, Beach Bunny, and Sammy and Her Friends.

The job demands long hours of planning and perfect execution to ensure the show goes on without a hitch. She says Duchesne taught her how to be proud of herself as a woman, which is especially helpful in a male-dominated field.

“Duchesne gave me the confidence and leadership to manage and advocate for my team, as well as the passion to help other women/nonbinary people get leadership positions.”

Fryda is finishing her final term at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London studying stage management with a focus on intimacy facilitation in entertainment.

An intimacy coordinator is an advocate between production and actors and a facilitator for scenes with intimacy.

Fryda says her interest in live theater was born in Thomas Becker’s drama classes.

“He was realistic about the struggles of the theater field but supported our passion by creating classes to teach us a little bit of every department of entertainment.”

Fryda is eager to continue her stage manager career in Chicago following her graduation.

For the Environment

Has a campfire-scented candle slowed you down to remember your Girl Scout Camp days? Did a particular pop of color remind you of your academy sweater? These are the everyday moments of happiness that Natalie Wolfe A’15 is creating with her Guava Guuds company of sustainable and creative products.

Wolfe has been around small businesses her whole life. Her parents owned a small business, and her first job out of college was managing a small business. These industry entrepreneurs are the heart of every local community and starting her own business felt right and exciting.

“My inspiration was also my real frustration and that fueled me. It’s easy to find inexpensive products but those items are also unethically made,” said Wolfe.

“Gift giving is one of my love languages so I wanted to start something where people could purchase products that are both unique and sustainable.”

The most difficult part of running a sustainable business, she says, is finding and vetting manufacturing partners who produce ethically sourced material and ensure that the employees are paid fairly and have good working conditions.

Wolfe says her creative process is one that allows her to ebb and flow with the inspiration. First, she gathers brainstorming partners and manufacturing partners to execute farther down the line, then they begin planning production. Recently, she collaborated with Duchesne alumna, Carolyn (Rouw) Moore A’14 to place Moore’s beautiful paintings onto Wolfe’s candles. These collaborations are part of her “unique monthly drop format.” The new items are released every month so customers can keep checking for new products.

“The pure creative process brings me the greatest joy in my art. Seeing my friends and family wearing my pieces after all this difficult work to create just one product is a real thrill. But having a business that people are excited about and want to make a purchase from while still knowing it is sustainable is the best!”

Career Day

On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, alumnae across the city hosted senior students for Career Connect Day. Seniors had the opportunity to choose from a variety of alumnae in different professions to job shadow for part of the day, or to sit and have coffee and a conversation with an alumna. Alumnae across the board were impressed by how polite, respectful, and intelligent our students were. The freshmen and sophomore students at Duchesne participated in a Career Day at

school, with a morning session led by UNL Engineering School students, including alumna Anne Stratman A’15, a PhD student in electrical engineering. Our students participated in afternoon small group sessions where they had a chance to hear from alumnae in different professions. Juniors spent the day at Creighton University. They were able to attend classes and tour the campus. At lunchtime, our students ate with alumnae who attend Creighton.

Cheers to 80 years!

The "Elegant 80" birthday celebration began with a call from Susan Donohue Herbert to Mary Ellen "Herk" Kauth Olsson suggesting we celebrate our milestone birthdays. Down through the years the College class of 1964 have traveled together all over the country and even internationally, so Herk thought a birthday celebration in Omaha was going to be an easy task.

Committees were formed, dates and places chosen and emails sent inviting all to the two day reunion celebrating their 80th milestone birthday. Lunch on the first day at their old stomping grounds (the Blackstone Hotel, now the Cottonwood Hotel) proved not to allow enough chatting time for this group, and Judy Fay Duffy opened her apartment to us for an evening of food, wine and more fun.

The next day we gathered at Duchesne for Mass. The chapel is being refurbished, so Mass was held in the school’s temporary chapel. Rev. Pat McCaslin, now retired but certainly a part of our history, celebrated the Mass with us. An optional tour to see the wonderful changes to the school and a delightful beverage-snack buffet followed.

Saturday night was the finale to the "Elegant Eighty" celebration. The party room of Taxi's had all the trappings of a real birthday party: cake and ice cream, balloons, wine and song. Notes and birthday cards from those not able to come were read and Herk wrote a poem for our class.

Our "worker bees'' made it all possible. After getting the original party idea from Susan, Herk set up committees and the times and places were set. Barb Haun Broderick set up reservations and appetizers; Deanie Christy Thomas (chair), Kathy Renzal VandeWalle, and Pris Keely Cotton were the "Fun Committee" with a memory table, initial balloons, and T-shirts. Our two day party and seeing each other again was such a joy and a memorable time.

Have spirit, will travel.

The 1964 Duchesne College Congé picture shows the spirit of the members of that class. That spirit, the friendships and the connections since then have continued with various travel destinations over the last 20 years. Whether 25 members at the Art Institute of Chicago, a group swimming in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida, walking the sandy beaches of Washington state, crossing from Seattle to Victoria, BC, for Tea at the Fairmont Empress, in Maine at the filming site of "On Golden Pond," or in Tuscany, Italy, the members of the 1964 class have continued their reunions since they first began at the Black Hills of South Dakota in 2002.

In August 2022, the gathering was in Omaha with some classmates staying at the Cottonwood Hotel which brought memories of college dances being held at the original Blackstone Hotel. A highlight of the weekend was Mass being said by Rev. Pat McCaslin at Duchesne followed by a class photo beneath Mater's picture. The spirit of the Sacred Heart permeated the weekend!

Elegantly Eighty

Look at us...we're 80! What a trip we have had.....oh yes.....how wonderfully we have evolved.

We are tattered, yet polished by our journey We have gulped in our many loves with delight, and tasted the bitterness of its loss.

We can be consumed by a memory, Living again the sting of its pain or the warmth of its pleasure. The mere call of a child fills our day like sunshine after a rain.

As our arms become wings and we fly away from our sizes 10 and 12, we don't care, we are aware.

Our bodies complain and we leak a bit, but our minds, though forgetful at times, have sharpened and can discern the nonsensical and recognize our Higher Power.

After all, we are ladies of our eighties!

But we are more... We share a Sacred Heart education that pumps energy and purpose to all we touch.

pumping...pumping....

Shirley Miller's words: "Signs, symbols and sacramentals draw us into the the deepest realities of our faith, whether they be a sign in the sky, Children of Mary medals, class rings, sweat shirts, or water glasses. They are all reminders of the Heart of Christ poured out on each of us and on our world and of our call to share that love with all whom we encounter.

HOMECOMING

She returned to lead the Duchesne Fund in 2022. The Duchesne Fund, formerly known as the Annual Fund, supports day-to-day operations that tuition doesn’t cover. It also supports tuition assistance.

Walking along Burt Street each morning, Catherine Foley Wieczorek A’09, says she can’t help but pause and admire Duchesne’s bright red bricks as they glow in the morning sun.

“I’m sure some people driving by just see an old building, but I see the place where so many lives were transformed, including mine.”

Wieczorek, says her time at Duchesne gave her confidence to push herself to try new things.

“It was a safe place to learn and to fail.”

She credits her Sacred Heart education as the reason she felt prepared when she arrived at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, CA, as a freshman. She graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After working in business for two years she returned to Omaha in 2015.

She accepted a position with CHI Health Foundation connecting donors with projects that aligned with their passions. She says building relationships and helping to advance worthy causes ignited a passion.

“I love getting to know donors, understanding what each organization has given to them, and then working with them to find the right way to give back.”

“The gap between the cost of tuition and the true cost to educate each of our students is $6700 this year. It’s important that we cover that extra cost so that each student can have the same experience here that I did.”

So why not just raise tuition to cover the full amount?

“Raising tuition would create barriers for too many of our students. Each student is called to be here, and this school would not be the same place without each of our girls.”

To Wieczorek, the strength of the Duchesne Fund is the large level of participation. Her goal is to increase participation numbers along with the amount raised.

“We can find a place for every single gift and each one, from five to five thousand dollars, makes Sacred Heart education possible."

A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES CHAIR

As we review and reflect on the Duchesne Annual Report it is an appropriate time to recognize your many contributions to the lifelong gift of a Sacred Heart education. Duchesne Academy provides the gift of an education empowered to reveal God’s love in the heart of the world — empowered to change the world with intentional faith, compassionate action and courageous hope —built on a foundation of academic excellence, relationships, community, and prayer.

Reflecting on the past year and the 2021-2022 school year theme to “Radiate the Fire of God’s Love” you heard and responded to the call. Duchesne is in a very good position due to your generosity. A few highlights:

• Your contributions to the Duchesne Fund, which supports operations, totaled $457,520 and accounted for 22% of revenue from fundraising efforts.

• Your combined contributions totaled over $2,000,000, which supported needbased scholarships for qualified students and helped address the gap that exists between the cost of tuition and the actual cost to educate each student.

• Duchesne’s largest campaign in school history, A Bold Step Forward, has raised nearly $22,000,000.

I, along with the rest of the Board of Trustees, am immensely grateful for your support. Please continue to join us in sustaining the amazing mission of Sacred Heart education at Duchesne Academy.

Sincerely, Kerry Kelley
