GRANTS, PROGRAMS, AND INITIATIVES

There are a wide variety of programs, initiatives, and grant opportunities available to assist investors and business owners who are already in or planning to move to the Moreton Bay Region.

Council support

• Regional Economic Development Grants up to $10,000 in funding to support community organisations implement initiatives that align with the four pillars of the REDS. • Local Preference Policy - Council provides weighted favour towards local business, giving them a competitive edge in tender provision. • Investment Attraction Policy - supports existing companies looking to expand and new companies looking to enter the region and create high-value jobs connected to the REDS. • Small Business Friendly Councils (SBFC) supports small businesses with access to tools and resources, simplified administration and regulation and more.

Queensland Government support

• Invested in Queensland – financial incentives to attract and support businesses looking to establish large-scale, job-creating projects. • Business Basics, Business Boost and Business

Growth Fund Grants – up to $50,000 in grant funding is available for new and established businesses at various stages of their journey, from recovery to growth. • Advance Queensland - helps entrepreneurs, innovators and researchers turn ideas into commercial success. • Innovate Queensland - supports SMEs, innovators and startups to grow and build connections through free workshops, webinars and collaboration activities. • Mentoring for Growth (M4G) - offers eligible businesses free access to volunteer business experts who provide insights, options and suggestions about your business challenges and opportunities. • Made in Queensland (MIQ) - up to $2.5 million in grant funding to increase the productivity and international competitiveness of small and medium sized manufacturers.

Australian Government support

• Research and Development Tax Incentive 38.5% or 43.5% tax offsets are available for costs incurred on eligible activities. • Entrepreneurs’ Programme - provides access to expert advice and financial assistance to support growth opportunities. • Industry Growth Centres - focuses on increasing the innovation, productivity and competitiveness of six key growth industries, including advanced manufacturing and food and agribusiness.
