He is a supporter of The Strand Theater in Shreveport and gives to local charities. Dr. Michael Acurio strives to preserve a piece of Shreveport history and culture by patronizing The Strand Theater in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana.
Dr. Michael Acurio has a special, personal relationship to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. His son Jacob, is a survivor of neuroblastoma and was treated
there. He donates regularly to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, a nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for research into some of the deadliest childhood diseases in the world. He is a proud and outstanding member of the community of Benton, Louisiana. Dr. Acurio has operated an orthopedic surgery private practice there since 1991.
Dr. Michael Acurio is a prostate cancer survivor of eight and a half years. His struggle with the disease taught him many lessons and informs his work as an orthopedic surgeon.
