This report has been prepared by Norfolk County Council to provide a summary of the data which is currently available to support the work of the Norfolk Road Casualty Reduction Group (RCRG), and the scope for further data-sharing between the partner organisations to improve the targeting of measures.
Following the publication of the Strategic Framework for Road Safety in May 2011 local authorities were encouraged to shift the focus in casualty reduction away from the road environment and onto the behaviours and skills of people involved in road casualties. The chapters of the report follow this narrative by starting with the broad population and demographics of Norfolk and working through the users of the road and the involvement of partner agencies in managing the outcomes of road collisions.
The report can be shared locally and nationally to support and guide collaboration on road casualty reduction and other partnership working.
