WINTER IN DOWNTOWN A Starlight Night, a first for the City of Stockton, will bring together four separate business districts in a celebration of the holiday season. Lincoln Center, the Miracle Mile, Stonecreek Village, and Downtown Stockton will all be open for people to enjoy visits with Santa, tree lightings and holiday shopping. A Starlight Night culminates in Downtown Stockton and kicks off an exciting and busy final month of the year. On December 4, the Holiday Stroll, the Lighted Boat Parade, and the Cocktail for a Claus will all bring a dynamic atmosphere to the downtown district. The Holiday Stroll returns with venues decorated in the Holiday spirit. Santa will be at his cottage in Janet Leigh Plaza meeting and greeting the youngsters. If Santa is not up your alley, then maybe dinner at one of the 15 restaurants a short walk from the movie theatre is the way to go. Restaurants will be offering specials throughout the night. Santa will also be available to take pictures December 11 and December 18 from 11 am to 3 pm. For the 31st year, the Marina West Yacht Club is hosting their “Delta Reflections” Lighted Boat Parade on the Stockton Channel. Last year the parade featured over 50 lavishly decorated boats. Any seat along Stockton’s downtown waterway is a great seat to enjoy the show. The Cocktail for a Claus continues the spirit of giving during the Holidays. Proceeds raised from the event will benefit the United Way of San Joaquin and the Tidewater Art Center and Gallery. Cocktailers participating in this event receive four heavy appetizers and four drink specials at four different
downtown venues. They’ll start off at the Lexington Plaza Waterfront Hotel for their first course and drink inside of the Delta Lounge. They may enjoy warm, front row seating for the Lighted Boat Parade before getting in their Limo and heading off to three other downtown restaurants for their next three appetizer and drink
specials. Tickets are $50 individually, or $90 for a pair. Also, participants ages 10-21 or the designated drivers can purchase an “Elf” ticket for $20. The Third Annual Winter Wonderland skate will be open at the Stockton Arena from December 20 to 22. Tickets range between $2 and $5 and include a skate rental. For more information, visit www. stocktonarena.com. Also at the Arena, the California Cougars Indoor Soccer Team are hosting a Winter Clothing Drive during their game against San Diego Sockers on December 27. There is no shortage of events for any crowd in Downtown Stockton.
