Mogo

Mogo suffered a similar fate to Cobargo on New Year's Eve 2019, and just like Cobargo, Mogo has come together to support its members. Things have taken a huge step forward with the arrival in February of semi-trailers delivering 10 demountable buildings from Sydney. The buildings will form a 'pop-up mall' next to the Mogo Day Surgery, providing space for up to 10 local businesses that lost everything to fire. Thanks to the Business Council of Australia's community rebuilding initiative BizRebuild, the pop-ups should be open in time for Easter. Fit-outs will be undertaken by local tradespeople who will be supporting local suppliers. Three other structures were delivered to the Mogo Local Aboriginal Land Council. Not everyone in Mogo was affected by fire; there are still lots of businesses open. They're trading as normal, but like Cobargo, they need more customers to help recover from summer losses. So please put Mogo on your destination list - and help this beautiful village get back on its feet.
