STAR & CRESCENT THE NEWSLETTER OF MIAMI’S ALPHA DELTA PHI
The Leadership Issue Amid transitions and trends, we examine Miami’s Alpha Delta Phi as a place that requires — and produces— outstanding leadership.
Consciously or unconsciously, generations of Miami Alpha Delts gained invaluable leadership experience as part of our fraternity. They’ve used that experience to make a difference in their careers and communities — and for the Chapter. In this issue, we honor their service.
Ross Wason ‘73 succeeds Stefan Davis ‘71 as Alumni Council Chairman
Fall 2024
Davis served as chair for an astounding 23-plus years; Wason was the fraternity’s first live-in House Director. Both share uncommon dedica on to Alpha Delta Phi. ROSS WASON ‘73
STEFAN DAVIS ‘71
“Alpha Delta Phi’s con nuing presence on the Miami campus is largely due to the care and concern that Stefan Davis has devoted to the fraternity. Without him and his ac ve leadership, the chapter would have been closed long ago and the house would likely have been demolished.” Those words by Alumni Council member Keith Chapin ‘74 pre y well sums up Stefan’s years of service to the chapter and to the Interna onal. Most Miami Chapter alumni probably know some, but unlikely all, of Stefan’s incredible Alpha Delt resume. (see page 2)
Right: Wason and Davis
Ross brings great creden als to his role as Alumni Council president. He was Rush Chairman and Chapter President and later became the Interna onal’s first-ever Undergraduate Assistant Secretary. But he surely earned his most important qualifica on when, at the age of 70, he moved back into 22 South Campus as the fraternity’s first live-in House Director. (see page 2)
