In the penultimate week of this academic year, we are planning four days of Enrichment Activities for all students in Years 7 – 9. This will take place from Tuesday 8 July to Friday 11 July 2025, and we are offering students a wide range of activities that will give them an opportunity to learn outside of the classroom or in a different way. This is part of our extra-curricular offer, as we understand how important it is that students are able to be given opportunities that are different and enriching, which supplement their learning in the classroom.
These activities may give students the chance to face a personal challenge that takes them out of their comfort zone or the opportunity to develop, or further develop, a new or established skill. They will be able to work with staff and other students in new ways which will help their personal development and allow them to engage in deeper learning.
In this booklet, you will find details of all the activities being offered this year. Activities offered may be limited to certain year groups or they may be open to all three year groups. These details are in the booklet along with any costs and equipment needed by students. We have tried to keep the cost of activities as low as possible and many are free of charge.
Please read this booklet together with your child and examine the activity details carefully. This will help to ensure your child selects an option that is appropriate for their interests and that Enrichment Week is as enjoyable and successful as possible for all involved. We are asking students to make first, second and third choices because many activities have a limited capacity, so it is not guaranteed that students will receive one of their top choices.
Next steps:
• Look at the options with your child.
• Decide on your first, second and third options.
• Fill in your choice form as soon as it is sent out after half term.
• Choice forms must be completed by Friday 15 November 2024.
• We will confirm allocations in December 2024.
• Full payment for activities will be required by Friday 23 May 2025.
Thank you for your support - we hope everyone has a worthwhile and memorable experience.
Mr. Hillier, Headteacher
