From the PTA President Tis the season! Why are the holidays the most wonderful time of the year? Is it the twinkling lights? The decadent foods? The visits from friends and family? My favorite part is the gifts! I love beautifully wrapped presents under the tree. I love the mischievous look in my kids' eyes as they try to keep secrets from each other. But most of all, I love the pure joy that I feel when I give a gift. This past year, I set a personal goal to seek out opportunities to help others. Whether I offered time, money, or moral support - giving what I can to lift up someone in need has led me to some of the greatest experiences in my life. Many of those opportunities came to me through working with the students, teachers and staff at Donaldson Elementary. In the last 3 months, the PTA has been able to sponsor many wonderful events, such as field trips and the Breakfast Challenge. We collected 115 books to donate to the Children's Hospital! We are in the process of purchasing 5 new SMARTboards to be installed in classrooms! We are accomplishing amazing things for our school and you can be a part - please consider giving the gift of your time and volunteer to help at an upcoming event. May the true joy of the holidays touch your heart and bless your family. After all, tis the season! Kristi Gunderson
