CONTRASTS | 18 November 2013

Positioning of The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and The Progressive Party of the Maldives PPM) Coalition* Voters. Following are generalised observations on the contrast in characteristics between MDP and PPM* voters. This focuses on the polar opposite attributes when it comes to grass root level supporters and does not necessarily reflect leadership views. *Includes Jumhooree Party (JP) and Adhaalath Party (AP) as well.

Objective

This is an effort to understand the Maldivian voters‘ mindset. Our hope is to affect positive change by channeling the positive and negative aspects in a beneficial manner.

Some characteristics may be offensive to some, and are not universal to all voters - we therefore hope this will be viewed with an open mind. Effort has been made during the assessment to avoid bias and has been based on our own experience - this is not based on any surveys or existing studies. Thus, while all attempts have been made to keep this effort subjective, it may not be accurate.
