Blending Art and Science

Two museum installations employ short-throw laser projectors to highlight Los Angeles’ evolving local habitats, landscapes, and species.
By AV Technology Staff

The Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County, California have restored and reopened a diorama hall that had been closed for decades at the Natural History Museum in Exposition Park. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the diorama halls, the museum invited contemporary artists to submit proposals for a new exhibit called “Reframing Dioramas: The Art of Preserving Wilderness” that re-envisions the presentation of context in dioramas. Two out of the three proposals chosen—“The Ever-Changing Flow: A Multimedia Diorama” by artist Lauren Schoth and “Special Species – A Delicate Moment in Time” by artists Jason Chang (RFX1), Joel Fernando, and Yesenia Prieto—include video elements. Passionate about sustainability and committed to protecting the environment, Epson worked with the artists and exhibition teams, providing PowerLite laser projectors to help light up their immersive scenes.
“Dioramas have a unique power to spark curiosity, inspire wonder, and foster exploration and discovery,” Amy Hood, director of communications, Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County said. “We are overwhelmed by the talent that this diverse group of artists has brought to this exhibit and are grateful to them for bringing in support from Epson, a large technology partner who is equally passionate about saving our planet and making an impact through art.”

THE PERFECT PARTNERSHIP
Schoth played a crucial role in bringing in Epson for this project. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Schoth grew to have an appreciation for the city’s historical landmarks and the forces that shaped its landscape. When she learned of the museum’s request for proposals focusing on rehabilitation and local habitats, she immediately thought of the Los Angeles River.
“With a better understanding of how colonialism and urbanization continue to impact us all today, I wanted to use this opportunity to shine a light on the past, present, and future of this great city and how everyone in it is part of its significance,” Schoth said. “I wanted to generate dialogue around issues such as habitat loss, climate change, urbanization, and conservation, by telling the story of the Los Angeles River.”
After experimenting in projection mapping at Penn State University, Schoth started
following online communities with like-minded visionaries. This led her to Sean Mason, who oversees projection installations as chief creative officer at A3 Visual.
“The technical perspective of this project really drew me in and how it is changing the ways museums look at displays and dioramas,” Mason noted. “Traditionally, low tech has been used in dioramas and I wanted to push the limits with this project. I had worked with Epson previously and knew with its extensive lineup of projectors, they’d be an ideal partner for this intricate display.”
Mason worked with Epson to identify the best solutions, ultimately using three PowerLite 805F ultra short-throw projectors to take visitors through five scenes showcasing the evolution of the biome.
Aligning with Epson’s environmental pursuit and core priority to support artists in sharing impactful stories, this was a perfect match for the Epson projector team.

FROM STATIC TO DYNAMIC
A vibrant, multicolored mix of projection; changing lights; and handcrafted, animated piñata alebrije (fantastical Mexican folk art sculptures)—“Special Species – A Delicate Moment in Time” by RFX1, Fernando, and Prieto takes viewers on a hypnotic journey that underscores the importance of environment, community preservation, and connectedness.
“Our goal was to mix a traditional art form with more cutting-edge technology to connect with a wider audience, especially the younger generations,” Fernando said. “We wanted to raise awareness around the consequences and ripple effect of human actions.”
Fernando worked closely with Epson to identify the ideal projectors for this installation that involved a tight, restricted space and a variety of challenging surfaces to be projected onto. The projectors also needed to be bright enough to combat light coming in from several spotlights. Pairing the PowerLite L630SU short-throw laser projectors with advanced blending and mapping, Fernando was able to fill an ultrawide curved background while projecting onto static alebrije sculptures, turning an otherwise still diorama into an ever-evolving display that captures delicate moments in time.
“Working with Epson far exceeded my expectations,” Fernando said. “These

projectors provided the perfect balance of technical power and ease of use, allowing me to focus on the art rather than the technology.” Amongst the traditional taxidermy displays in the newly restored diorama hall, the “Special Species – A Delicate Moment in Time” boldly pushes the boundaries of what dioramas can be through the union of technology and art.

THE BIG PICTURE ON DISPLAY
“When asked to support this group of artists in their mission to raise awareness about California’s unique species and the effects of disrupted ecosystems, we didn’t hesitate to join,” Chris Teguh, product manager, Epson America said. “Projection has the ability to blend seamlessly into different environments and transform any surface into a dynamic storytelling canvas. With projection, the only limit is imagination, and we are proud to offer technology that empowers artists to tell their stories in impactful ways.”
Epson is committed to providing a wide range of versatile projectors to support diverse forms of artistic expression. Schoth used traditional projection to display a digital representation of the environmental changes in Los Angeles, while RFX1, Fernando and Prieto used projection to animate still sculptures and appeal to modern attention spans with highly dynamic imagery.
These two completely different dioramas in the same exhibit, each with their own projection requirements, are testaments to how Epson projectors adapt and deliver across different environments.
“We’re not just providing illumination tools,” Remi Del Mar, senior product manager, Epson America said. “We believe in the messages behind the artists’ passion and drive to visualize their stories and make an impact.”
Three Epson PowerLite 805F projectors help visitors to visualize LA’s past, present, and future in “The Ever-Changing Flow: A Multimedia Diorama”.
“I wanted to generate dialogue around issues such as habitat loss, climate change, urbanization, and conservation,” said artist, Lauren Schoth.

CHRIS BLACK Chief Marketing Officer, Vizrt
With the continual convergence of broadcast and AV, storytellers of all sizes are seeking diverse solutions. From corporations looking to produce virtual town halls and immersive marketing, to single streamers investing in augmented reality, the variety of video storytelling we see is changing fast.
At Vizrt, we aim to take the complexity out of live production for every user, whether working with a large production environment and team, or a compact space and smaller team. To strengthen this aim, we’re looking at usability and automation to save time and assist with repetitive tasks. With this, teams can dedicate their time to being creative and expanding their production possibilities.
The future is in both the simplification and sophistication of products and solutions. Removing the complexity of live production also contributes to the democratization of the media technology industry. As technology providers and partners to our customers and users, we have a responsibility to level the playing field for video storytellers, meeting them where their passion is, at any skill level—not only to enable production skills development, but also to have our solutions grow with them.
Because of the diversity of our customers and partners, Vizrt’s roadmap is to continue to strengthen our offerings to make the technical side of production less complex, but more innovative—so storytellers can do more with less.

DAN HOLLAND Marketing Manager IHSE
With today’s increasing threats to computer and network systems, IHSE is designing our KVM systems to be more resilient against cyber attacks. Companies who utilize KVM systems to maintain network operation centers or mission control rooms need to ensure the right products are used to mitigate potential risk of these attacks and/or data exploitations. Conversely, these products are designed to include a more opensource infrastructure that offers the ability to obtain, process, and distribute information more effectively. For many years, control room environments were designed around traditional keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) solutions, but recently end users are turning to a more efficient tool, described as display management systems (DMS) for KVM-over-IP or traditional closed-loop KVM.
DMS has been designed to allow users to easily control and configure computers at the desktop to manage what is seen on the display and what can operate via the keyboard and mouse. As many IT departments are operating at downsized levels, and employees are being asked to manage more equipment with fewer resources, the ability to remotely manage and maintain performance of computer equipment has become an essential part of the control room business model. Not only does the end user need to manage access to computers, but they also need to maintain things like USB peripherals, touchscreen access, multidisplay settings, network settings, and resource sharing.
Now, with the increased need for computerbased automation, testing, and simulation for control rooms, it becomes more important to improve workflow, share resources, and facilitate a more efficient way for employees to work. To take advantage of these benefits, IHSE has incorporated the latest JPEG-XS codec for our display management systems. DMS with JPEG-XS helps unburden the stress of workstation assignment by connecting every computer or server to a distributed system without compromising on security, quality, or performance.

JENNIFER CHEH Senior Vice President of Display Marketing and Product Management Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America
At Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, our vision for 2025 focuses on empowering end users to create immersive, dynamic environments through cutting-edge technology and a commitment to sustainability. We believe that the evolution of display technologies is more than just a product journey; it is about fostering meaningful interactions in an everchanging world.
In 2025, we anticipate that direct-view LED will continue its steady growth, driven by the demand for larger, more vibrant displays in sectors such as retail and corporate environments. While it may not surpass the dominance of LCDs, its applications will expand, particularly in corporate signage and public spaces where organizations are creating immersive experiences for their customers and employees.
We also foresee a resurgence in projection technologies, especially for use cases that require flexibility and creativity. This renewed interest aligns with our focus on enabling innovative storytelling across various industries and technologies.
Our philosophy emphasizes adaptability in response to market shifts. For instance, normalizing refresh cycles post-pandemic requires recalibrating solutions to balance cost effectiveness with cutting-edge innovation. Additionally, macroeconomic challenges necessitate smarter, more efficient integrations, such as display as a service, to lower barriers for end users.
Our guiding principle remains clear throughout all of this: we are committed to supporting our customers with reliable, future-proof solutions while maintaining an unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and operational excellence. At Sharp, we envision 2025 as a year of delivering both innovative products and strong partnerships that empower our customers to lead confidently in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

PAUL KRIZAN Product Line Manager
Atlona
Atlona continues to offer a broad product line and range of solutions that meet a diverse set of requirements across varied AV verticals. The majority of new Atlona products brought to market in 2024 were developed with the busy education market in mind, and many included special features that were specifically added for use in learning environments. These features can be found today in our Omega CS31 Series of switchers, which we introduced to the education market at ISE 2024.
Atlona’s 2025 roadmap retains a priority focus on the education market. In the higher ed space, we have reached the point where most universities have addressed their hybrid learning needs. Many of the conversations we are having today are focused on agility inside the classroom, which includes updating and simplifying connectivity requirements. That problem is being solved through increased demand for and availability of USB-C transport, which reliably carries video, audio, and data over a single wired connection.
We continue to innovate for USB transport over longer distances, including the distribution and extension of USB 3.0 signals in a way that allows us to monitor and manage USB connectivity of peripherals over a point-to-point link. These innovations will be available early in the year with new products set to debut at ISE 2025, including new USB-C switching solutions from our Omega Series and a new USB data extender kit that will also bring value to the corporate vertical.
Our USB data extender addresses the bandwidth challenges that come with longdistance USB data transmission. Additionally, we will introduce new remote management and control capabilities specific to the USB environment that will also deliver analytics for performance monitoring. In addition to our new point-to-point USB extension, as an early innovator of USB-over-IP transport, we will continue to evolve our solutions for adapting USB signals to the network.

In 2025, we will continue to help enterprises around the world navigate the complexities of live content creation and provide technology that makes video production easy and effective for every business.

EFFI GOLDSTEIN President HDBaseT Alliance
The HDBaseT Alliance has always focused on simplifying Pro AV installation complexity while maintaining the highest performance, beginning with converging multiple interfaces over a single Category cable to create streamlined, interoperable, plug-and-play installations. Our 2025 roadmap builds on this foundation by addressing the most pressing challenges AV professionals face today with the same commitment to delivering simpler, more reliable solutions. At the top of our priorities this year is transforming USB, traditionally seen as a consumer-grade technology, into a reliable, professional-grade solution for Pro AV.
USB’s versatility and ubiquity have made it the go-to interface for videoconferencing and collaborative spaces. However, as these environments grow more complex, including incorporating multi-camera setups, AI, and other advanced applications, USB is being stretched beyond its original design limitations, leading to performance issues and unreliable operation. HDBaseT-USB3 directly addresses these challenges by providing long-distance, high-bandwidth USB extension, ensuring reliable data transmission and extension with no latency or signal loss. It also integrates power extended over a single Category cable up to 328 feet (100m), simplifying installations with no need for a dedicated electrical outlet and providing complete freedom of placement for the USB peripherals.
This innovation represents a pivotal step in advancing Pro AV, enabling integrators to meet the evolving needs of creative, collaborative spaces. The rapid adoption of HDBaseTUSB3 extenders, cameras, wallplates, and room appliance controllers demonstrates the industry’s enthusiasm for this groundbreaking technology.

NANCY KNOWLTON Chief Executive Officer Nureva
2025 will be a banner year for new product introductions at Nureva. First off, we have some new functionality that will be rolled into our existing products to assist integrators and customers in installing and deploying our products. Throughout the year, we’ll continue releasing enhancements to firmware and software. We’ll also have a major product announcement midyear or so that will address an emerging, important need in the market. We’re keeping the details close to the vest, but we’ll be beginning broader customer briefings in early Q2. We’ve been working with customers on all these new ideas for some time, so we’re eager to get them out into the broader market.
Our new products align with our philosophy of delivering the experiences that our customers want and expect. Most often, people think of experiences manifesting in the use of products—and that’s clearly important. We remain focused on making large-room audio easy—to install, deploy, and manage—and we’ll continue to deliver on that commitment in 2025. But we’re taking things a step further so that every experience when working with us delivers what our customers want. We’ll start with the on-site evaluation experience where our prospects will see just how easy it is to try out a Nureva audio system for themselves in one of their spaces. Our products come with many features that make that experience possible, but principally our architecture—which is based on system autocalibration—is the ingredient that allows for fast and easy setup.
So, in addition to making large-room audio easy to install, deploy, and manage, we’re making it easy to evaluate our solutions on site—giving prospects and customers what they want and expect from the outset.

JAMES CHEN Managing Director Kordz
As new technologies, work, and lifestyle trends continue to transform the way we use outdoor environments, leading manufacturers from a diversity of technology categories are expanding and refining their product lines to meet the demands and myriad applications of this rapidly growing market segment. Kordz is one of them, setting systems integrators up to thrive in a dynamic landscape with a new line of professional-grade above- and belowground cabling solutions launching in 2025— designed and engineered for robust, reliable, high-speed connectivity in outdoor spaces. Systems integrators encounter varied problems with current outdoor connectivity solutions. Batteries are an annoying, unreliable, and less eco-friendly solution for powering devices. This necessitates hard wiring systems, often partly or wholly outdoors, but many cables are not correctly designed and specified for outdoor use. They must be built to withstand the tough conditions mother nature serves up: sun, water, extreme weather and temperatures, rodents, microbes in soil, and fire. They must also be discreet, as well as easy to install and service in tricky and retrofit environments without compromising on reliability and performance.
From Wi-Fi and networking to audio and security systems, integrators need connectivity solutions that empower them to deliver the same high caliber of work they do indoors in an even more challenging environment.
Kordz sees outdoor integration as one of the most promising of all emerging applications, and that’s why in 2025 our team of seasoned former integrators is dedicating significant energy into “Kordifying” professional-grade solutions that are compliant with global outdoor cable standards, enabling integrators to confidently and profitably take on a wider range of projects. It’s all part of our commitment to delivering quality and innovation as a steadfast partner in the industry, helping integrators achieve success in a competitive and ever-evolving market.

JEFF BOGGESS Director of Product Marketing Avocor
Avocor’s roadmap for 2025 is rooted in a philosophy of innovation, integration, and collaboration. Over the past year and a half, we’ve significantly diversified our portfolio, evolving into a company capable of delivering display solutions tailored to any space, whether corporate, government, or education. This transformation reflects our commitment to not just creating products, but enabling meaningful connections through technology.
Our focus lies in harmonizing the best of hardware and software. We believe that when these two elements are seamlessly integrated, they deliver the most impactful and intuitive customer experiences. This commitment drives our investments in innovation, particularly in advancing our operating system. By developing software that works flawlessly with our hardware and partnering with industry leaders, we aim to create holistic ecosystems that enhance communication and collaboration across diverse environments.
Looking ahead, our development efforts will center on enhancing the role of technology within shared spaces. This includes prioritizing userfriendly integrated software, which forms the backbone of effective digital ecosystems.
At Avocor, 2025 is about more than just products—it’s about ensuring every innovation we bring to market adds genuine value, builds stronger connections, and creates spaces where technology becomes a natural extension of how people work, learn, and interact. By anchoring our strategy in these principles, we are positioned to continue driving growth and making a lasting impact across the industries we serve.

BRAD HINTZE Executive Vice President, Global Marketing Crestron
The watchwords for Crestron in 2025 are content, collaboration, and control. We’re focused on creating best-in-class solutions for each of those categories in every vertical we service, from enterprise to education, home to hospitality, and more.
When it comes to content, we’ve been expanding our line of DM NVX AV-over-IP solutions to provide every client with crystalclear audio and video, near-zero latency, and USB-C connectivity to support the most popular formats. We’re also adding and refining products in our AirMedia wireless presentation and conferencing systems so that BYOD/BYOM situations are nearly automatic for the user.
To facilitate collaboration, we’re focused on creating technology to make the most out of hybrid meetings in every space of an organization—most notably, those highimpact spaces where the biggest decisions are made. To that end, we’re refining our family of products that leverage intelligent video technology, including our line of 1 Beyond cameras and Automate VX multi-camera speaker solutions, which rely on Visual AI to really make for a natural meeting experience for both in-person and remote attendees. Our Crestron Flex videoconferencing products remain immensely popular as well.
And control is, of course, at the heart of what we do; control solutions are what put Crestron on the map half a century ago. These products have evolved to the point where one-touch or even no-touch control is something that our clients should expect: Walk into the room that you’ve scheduled for a meeting and every part of that space is ready—from lighting to shading to content presentation and even climate.
There’s much more, of course, but that’s a fair cross section of the products that support our core philosophy—creating seamless, intuitive experiences and simplifying technology for the way we live, work, and learn.

MARK CORBIN
President Vanco International Vanco serves both the residential and commercial Pro AV industries, giving us a front row seat to an interesting trend: Even among traditionally resi-focused custom integrators, we’re seeing a marked uptick in SMB commercial projects, especially in hospitality. These projects have distinct needs from either luxury private homes or multi-site enterprises, and often aren’t well served by products designed for either. SMBs tend to have higher turnover than large enterprises, so simplicity is paramount; these customers can’t afford to spend hours training employees on system operation or rely on institutional knowledge to keep a solution running. Still, they need commercialgrade, network-based distribution options to handle their footprint and high endpoint and source counts. In 2025, Vanco will have some compelling new AVoIP, UCC, and distribution solutions that fit nicely in the SMB sweet spot: affordable, scalable, and simple to manage.
We’ve also observed a rapidly accelerating transition to streaming video sources in the commercial sector. This has driven a need for more commercially oriented products with eARC/ARC capabilities—particularly the latter. In commercial scenarios where consistency and uptime are paramount, the more mature ARC technology is still the gold standard. Our dealers and distributors have also experienced a rise in TAA-compliance requirements. Legally, only certain federally funded projects have to comply with the Trade Agreements Act (which basically says that tech products used in a project must originate in a U.S.-friendly nation). However, in the face of mounting international cyber threats, our customers are receiving requests even from private companies for TAA compliance. Vanco has always produced a large range of compliant solutions, but this year we’re making those products easier to find with a new “TAA-compliant products” landing page and expanding the line to make it easier to spec a compliant project end to end.

WILL BEAR Vice President of Sales and Marketing Crimson AV
Our philosophy at Crimson is simple: More! As a trusted partner in the AV community, our focus is on offering more personalized service, more innovative products, and a more collaborative and consultative approach on projects. This is Crimson’s secret sauce. Our philosophy remains rooted in providing exceptional customer experiences. We believe integrators shouldn’t have to choose between quality, value, and service—they deserve all three. In 2025, we are doubling down on personalized support through expanded training programs, resources, and consultation services, empowering integrators to succeed in increasingly complex projects. Our roadmap for 2025 reflects a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and unparalleled service, ensuring we remain supportive of our customers and partners.
In 2025, we’ll continue to enhance our offering of industry-leading display mounting solutions, affordable kiosks, and IP-rated high-bright LCD outdoor kiosks and menu boards. Building on our partnerships with top-tier manufacturers, we aim to deliver advanced indoor and outdoor dvLED mounting systems with integrated features that simplify installation, improve safety, and maximize versatility. This includes modular designs for large-format dvLED installations and weatherproof mounting options for challenging outdoor environments.
Our #MoreThanMounts approach means we’re not just a manufacturer, but also a partner. By combining cutting-edge product designs, robust customer support, and a relentless focus on delivering value, we’re positioned to meet the evolving needs of the AV industry while staying true to our mission of enhancing every customer’s experience.

GEORGE WALTER Senior Sales Executive Digital Projection
For years, the AV industry has focused on increasing projector brightness, striving for higher lumen output with each innovation. Now that brightness is firmly established across our projector lineup, our attention has shifted to another critical aspect: the quality and accuracy of color. Vivid, true-to-life colors captivate viewers and elevate the entire experience. To highlight this, we’ve launched a campaign featuring the integration of Texas Instruments’ 0.8-inch HEP DMD in our groundbreaking E-Vision 16000i single-chip DLP projector. This industry-first model delivers exceptional color reproduction, particularly in challenging red tones, surpassing REC709 standards and establishing itself as one of the most color-accurate projectors available.
Sustainability is another key initiative shaping the AV industry, and we’re leading the charge by developing projectors that consume significantly less power without sacrificing performance. Over just three years, we’ve reduced the power consumption of our typical 10,000-lumen projector from 1215W to an impressive 583W. These advancements mark significant progress, and we remain committed to continuous improvements in efficiency and sustainability.
The diversity of applications in AV continues to grow, and we are helping integrators expand their businesses with cutting-edge technologies. ColorBoost + red laser enhances color saturation and realism, delivering stunningly lifelike visuals across our projector range; the Nexus electronics platform, featured in E-Vision, M-Vision, and Titan projectors, elevates image processing for an unparalleled viewing experience; and the RGB laser light source offers improved energy efficiency, reduced maintenance, and longer lifespan while delivering a wide REC2020 color gamut. By focusing on color accuracy, sustainability, and innovation, we are empowering integrators to excel in a competitive market. Our commitment to advanced technologies ensures not only superior performance but also meaningful contributions to energy efficiency and system versatility, setting the stage for ongoing success in 2025 and beyond.

CHRIS SCHECK Head of Marketing Content Lawo
Whether softwaredefined, cloud-based, or server-based, almost all solutions for AV and broadcast applications rely on software. This includes bespoke hardware devices, which load the installed OS and feature set at power up. It certainly also applies to baseband devices rooted in the SDI realm.
As the migration to IP networking is gaining momentum, new hardware devices either support IP natively, or can be connected to so-called gateway devices that translate SDI to IP, and back.
Faced with shrinking budgets, broadcasters especially not only embraced the added flexibility provided by IP, but quickly started asking what-if questions. Resource sharing— allowing several users to access a given processor at different times—is a nice feature to have, as it allows users to cut down on the number of hardware devices. But what if the processing software was able to run on generic servers, or in the cloud?
The benefit of both approaches is that one computer device (or a server farm) can be used for a variety of processing tasks simultaneously, while dedicated hardware is mostly a one-trick-pony affair. Most users currently hesitate to rely on the cloud for touring or resident productions, opting instead for generic servers on site.
As a result, the only dedicated hardware that is still needed centers on control (i.e. audio, video, and lighting mixers), for they, too, can be IP network savvy. Yet, control is being virtualized as well, allowing users to use touchscreens, tablets, smartphones, and even AR glasses to tweak and (re)view their settings—although this may still seem a bit fiddly for multi-million-dollar productions with no room for error.
Given that dedicated or mappable hardware may soon be considered unnecessarily bulky for certain applications, it will be interesting to see how fast virtual controllers will find their way into AV productions and beyond.
“Whether software-defined, cloud-based, or server-based, almost all solutions for AV and broadcast applications rely on software.”
— Chris Scheck Head of Marketing Content Lawo “As always, we are focused on saving lives and enhancing school safety by developing solutions that complement the IPX mass communication line.”

AMIT ANCIKOVSKY President, Americas Kramer Electronics
In 2025, Kramer will differentiate itself by maximizing the advantages of being one of the few Pro AV manufacturers to offer end-to-end solutions, which includes an emphasis on seamless system control and cultivating frictionless customer interactions.
Being a one-stop shop has resonated in the market as it provides our customers with the assurance that all Kramer products are compatible with each other and that they will have the inside knowledge that will avoid project delays and cost overages.
A key focus of our approach this year will be Panta Rhei, our centralized, cloud-based platform that transforms the audio-visual ecosystem experience. It offers flexible, system-wide control and closes the loop around our full array of AV solutions, as well as system components from other manufacturers, via an open API. Other key features include a session manager that can launch meetings agnostically between 10 types of platforms, as well as Wi-Fi for wireless collaboration.
We will also double down on our direct relationships with customers, which includes providing them with more efficient access to our resources. For example, we are building an online tool for Ashton Bentley, a recent company acquisition, giving users the ability to configure a whole room of AV-related furniture via a simple drag-and-drop interface. AI will be implemented to help customers find the right products for their project automatically based on what they have searched for previously.
We will also utilize automation on our website that will provide customers with basic information, such as product availability, pricing, and technology updates. These tools will allow our Kramer sales and support teams to focus on more substantive matters that require special attention.
“We will double down on our direct relationships with customers, which includes providing them with more efficient access to our resources.”
— Amit Ancikovsky President, Americas Kramer Electronics
“Navori paved the way for green digital signage by introducing an end-to-end web interface for our digital signage ”
— Jeffrey Weitzman Managing Director Navori Labs

JEFFREY WEITZMAN Managing Director Navori Labs
Sustainability has been on the minds of AV professionals across the industry, from the suppliers bringing energy-efficient products to market to the end users seeking to lower power consumption. Collectively, all are placing at least some priority on carbon footprint reductions, with an increasing number of businesses committing to operational changes that carve a path to carbon neutrality with net-zero climate impact.
Navori Labs enters 2025 with strong momentum behind our sustainability initiatives for digital signage. As a Swiss company, the inspiration behind Navori’s innovations for sustainable digital signage originates through European regulations that mandate businesses to reduce energy consumption and minimize their carbon footprint. Most of these regulations generally define the total number of kilowatt hours allowed per endpoint and/or within the broader IT environment.
To meet these requirements, businesses require hardware and software solutions that both optimize electricity usage and extend the lifespan of digital signage equipment. One area that has fallen short to date is a lack of endpoint management technology built into content management systems to perform automated display control and other energy-saving functions.
Navori paved the way for green digital signage by introducing an end-to-end web interface for our digital signage CMS in 2008. This interface has allowed us to enhance control applications through every stage of the content management lifecycle. Our efforts extended to hardware several years later, with the introduction of a native Android player that pushed rendering power to the edge.
This year at ISE, we are proud to unveil a new sustainability achievement that eliminates the need for manual scheduling of on/off times. Leveraging our experience in context-based automation and AI-driven analytics, our STIX 3800 solution intelligently responds to audience presence, driving efficient energy usage. Our 2025 roadmap will show how Navori can deliver substantial annual electricity savings per screen, amounting to an estimated $405.30 USD and 291kg of carbon dioxide emissions saved compared to continuous usage.

ANDERS KARLSSON Chief Executive Officer Humly
The market for space booking and room scheduling solutions has reached the point of saturation, with more than 600 companies competing for this business today. The advent of hybrid work followed by the return-to-work movement inspired an explosion of new entries on the supplier side, from brand new companies to established AV brands that entered the space.
Many of these companies specialize in one specific area of the business. For example, one segment of the business is largely focused on classic meeting room signs that display meeting information on a sign that is mounted adjacent to the entrance. The other is more focused on a reservation or calendaring system that populates information on meeting signs, kiosks, and other display points.
Humly is among the few that offers an entire platform across all workplace management functions, both within its homegrown suite of products and through partnerships that give our customers third-party software options. Humly will strengthen its staying power as an innovator in the workplace experience by emphasizing the experience.
On one hand, we are preparing to simplify the experience of configuring the Humly ecosystem, and introducing a comprehensive control experience across a Humly network of workplace solutions. That means reducing initial hardware installations from 30 minutes to three minutes, and providing our customers with operational simplicity, rock-solid security, and end-to-end control upon opting into a Humly software service.
Separately, we are adding time-saving features to our solutions that will reduce bottlenecks and inefficiencies where people work. That includes the expansion of sensor technologies within our Humly Booking Device and Humly Room Display premium hardware solutions, which this year include a new accessory at ISE to detect human presence inside a phone-booth-style personal meeting space. We will expand our integrations with desk manufacturers for enhanced desk control applications later this year. These are just some of the advances that will continue to strengthen Humly’s position in an otherwise crowded market.

DARIUS SEABAUGH Senior Vice President of Marketing
ACT
Entertainment
ACT Entertainment will focus its efforts in 2025 on continuing to grow our presence in the AV and integration markets, while also celebrating our longevity in the live sound industry.
Inspired by the 50th anniversary of our ProCo Sound brand, we will pay homage to all the people and products that have influenced our steady growth in the industries we serve.
Though it was officially launched in 2021 with the combined rebranding of ACT Lighting and RHC Holdings, ACT Entertainment’s sales, support, and manufacturing processes can be tracked as far back as 1974, to the introduction of ProCo Sound’s audio interface solutions. Many of our leading brands have been around for several decades. ACT itself was founded over 30 years ago (in 1993), and it wasn’t long before the brand became a powerhouse player in the lighting industry.
Today, ACT Entertainment prides itself on the deeply rooted heritage of our legacy— partner and acquired brands alike. As a streamlined organization, ACT Entertainment curates critical entertainment technologies and brings together a wide array of leading products and services to clients across multiple distinct markets, including Pro AV, installation, and broadcast, among others.
Building off our acquisitions of tvONE and Green Hippo, and our distribution partnership with Visual Productions, we plan to spend time this year increasing our sales and support efforts for the system integration market. CASE IN-POINT

LCD DISPLAYS DELIVER STADIUM-LIKE EXPERIENCE
Located within the Caribe Royale Orlando resort in Florida, Stadium Club is a 9,000-square-foot premier bar and entertainment venue catering to both die-hard sports enthusiasts and casual fans alike. Owned by Caribe Royale Orlando resort, the establishment features top-notch dining, eight sports simulator suites, and an action-packed sports environment—offering visitors an experience that is truly one-of- a-kind. At night, the space transforms into a nighttime entertainment venue, with Orlando’s best DJs and high-tech audiovisuals providing spectacular light and music shows.
To develop the Stadium Club concept, Caribe Royale Orlando resort partnered with multidisciplinary design and strategy collective StreetSense.
“More than a sports bar—we wanted it to be a destination and we wanted it to be unique,” Caribe Royale Orlando vice president of Operations Amaury Piedra said. “Our vision was to create an atmosphere that felt like a stadium, and to achieve that, we needed the best audio-visual technologies available.”
Taking inspiration from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the team designed a multimedia-enhanced setting featuring display technologies from Planar, with installation carried out by technology integrator Koncept Systems. Planar UltraResTM X Series 65-inch and 55-inch 4K LCD displays were strategically placed throughout all key areas of the venue, including each of the sports simulator suites.
The centerpiece is a custom-designed installation incorporating Planar VM Series 55-inch LCD video
wall displays in the contour of an oval, suspended over a central bar area.
The oval feature is critical to the overall theme of the venue, according to StreetSense director of Interior Architecture Alex Crawford. “It creates a true 360-degree experience and provides the Stadium Club team with near-unlimited flexibility in terms of their programming,” he said. “They can show a complete picture across the entirety of the display or break it up into multiple views.”
StreetSense designed the oval installation with a non-uniform shape to maximize both the evenness and seamlessness of the displays. “We love the fact that the oval is not an accessory, but rather this dynamic visual element that naturally blends with the surrounding architecture,” Crawford said. “It’s an extremely important ‘wow factor’ for patrons as they first walk in.”
“The Planar displays, together with the sound system, combine to create a high-energy and visually immersive sports-watching environment that patrons can experience from anywhere in the venue,” Piedra said. “No matter where you are sitting or standing, you are part of the action.”
The immersive quality of the Planar displays was on full display when Stadium Club hosted a recent pay-per-view boxing event. “We had 500 people in the venue and when the lights came down and the fight went up on every screen, it felt like you were at the event,” Piedra said. “Everybody there was yelling and engaged—just like being at a stadium.”

VIDEO WALL CONTROLLERS BRING LIVE THEATER TO LIFE
Finnish event and entertainment company Visual45 (part of Creative Technology) relied on a trio of Datapath Fx4 controllers, coupled with a Screenberry media server, to power a multimedia experience at MOVE 5D—a cutting-edge immersive event space where guests are treated to a unique blend of live theater and gourmet dining, coupled with stunning 360-degree visuals.
MOVE 5D is the latest addition to Logomo, a cultural event venue in Turku, Finland. The building, which served over a century as a machine shop for the state railway company, now houses a restaurant, galleries, and stages, as well as working spaces for businesses and artists.
MOVE 5D was designed to engage the senses. The experience lasts approximately 3.5 hours, including an intermission. Dinner features a 10-to12-course menu, with each dish handcrafted and sourced from local farms. The visuals and sounds change with each course, creating immersive environments that complement the various tastes while contributing to the broader narrative.
Petteri Unkila, production manager at Logomo stated, “Technology is hidden throughout the experience. Large screens, continuous surfaces, and excellent acoustics are an integral part. We also aimed to hold high-end conferences in MOVE 5D, and Screenberry’s rich functionality, working in harmony with Datapath’s trusted signal processing technology, helped bring that vision to life.”
Front Pictures’ Screenberry media server works
at the core of the whole multimedia setup, running and calibrating 10 WUXGA Panasonic PT-RZ790B projectors to create a seamless 360-degree environment. Six projectors cover the walls, and another four illuminate the ceiling. An additional projector uses a direct HDMI input for conference presentations. The total playback resolution is 9,330 x 1,038 for the walls and 2,815 x 1,849 for the ceiling. Three 4K signals from the Screenberry media server are split using a trio of Datapath Fx4 controllers resulting in 12 WUXGA outputs.
Besides video playback, Screenberry also orchestrates QLab for sound output and grandMA for lighting control, ensuring that everything works in perfect sync.
“With the combination of Datapath and Screenberry, we can route multiple HDMI inputs, enabling picture-in-picture (PiP) capabilities for conferences and presentations,” Unkila added. “Customers can easily manage the entire setup using an iPad, allowing them to seamlessly change the scenery.”
“The Screenberry team have worked closely with Datapath on some stunning visual experiences across the world—from Europe to the Far East,” Andy Lee, senior international sales manager at Datapath concluded. “The combination of our popular Fx4 and the Screenberry media server allows for seamless 360-degree visuals that bring a new dimension to what is possible with immersive video experiences, and MOVE 5D is no exception.”

HYBRID EVENT UNITES A GLOBAL WORKFORCE
Vizrt, a leader in real-time graphics and live production solutions, hosted the ONE Vizion Summit, a three-day hybrid conference that united over 200 employees in person and hundreds more via live streaming. The event aimed to align the company’s global workforce, spread across 37 countries, with its vision and strategy.
Traditional face-to-face meetings aren’t practical for Vizrt’s global, distributed workforce. Instead, video emerged as a sustainable and effective medium for engaging employees, ensuring clarity and connection regardless of location. The Summit’s primary goal was to deliver a unified message that resonated equally with on-site and remote participants.
The main challenge was ensuring remote attendees felt as engaged as those present in person. Chris Black, Vizrt’s chief marketing officer, emphasized the importance of clear and compelling communication to ensure alignment with leadership’s vision. He said, “One of the biggest challenges for large organizations, especially those like ours with offices in over 37 countries, is ensuring that everyone understands the CEO’s vision and message clearly.”
At Vizrt particularly, high production quality was crucial to meet the expectations of an audience familiar with broadcast-level standards.
To address this challenge, Vizrt utilized its own advanced video production tools to create a polished, professional event. The company’s approach was multifaceted. “Our audience is unique because they regularly work with broadcasters and expect a high level of production quality,” Lennie Nelson, vice president of brand at Vizrt noted. “We couldn’t just show up with a computer and PowerPoint. We need to add some dynamic media to it.”
The infrastructure counted on a TriCaster, the Flex Dual control panel, PTZ cameras, Viz Flowics for graphics, and Viz Virtual Studio Go for AR graphics, making the visual experience more immersive and engaging for the viewer—all powered by NDI.
A TriCaster served as the central component for producing the hybrid event. The award-winning media production system managed video feeds from multiple cameras—live video switching, streaming, and recording of sessions for on-demand access. Graphics from Viz Flowics and remote presenters via Microsoft Teams were also integrated into the system.
The Flex Control Panel was used to remotely reposition the Vizrt PTZ3 PLUS Cameras and adjust the zoom levels. The panel also enabled the control
of audio connections, audio and video mixing, and talkback via NDI.
Vizrt PTZ3 PLUS cameras were strategically placed to capture different angles throughout the venue. The cameras provided high-quality images even in low-light conditions. Equipped with presenter tracking technology, the cameras automatically followed the speaker on stage, adding a professional touch to the production without manual camera operation.
Viz Flowics, the most comprehensive cloud-native, web-based platform for generating live HTML5 graphics from anywhere, was used to create and control on-screen graphics, web-based digital signages, and live data integration. The system enabled seamless display of lower thirds, titles, attendees’ information, and real-time questions from both in-person and virtual participants.
Augmented reality (AR) elements were added using Viz Virtual Studio Go, the world’s first, fully equipped AR graphics and virtual studio in a box. The integration of AR provided an immersive experience for the audience.
The team meticulously planned the technical setup to integrate Vizrt’s tools with the venue’s infrastructure. A detailed wiring diagram streamlined the complex arrangement of cameras, monitors, projectors, digital signage, and audio systems, ensuring smooth operation.
The event was live streamed, allowing remote employees to interact via Microsoft Teams to provide real-time feedback and questions. Dynamic content delivery, including live graphics, video playback, and media switching, kept the audience engaged. This ensured a consistent, high-quality experience for both in-person and remote attendees.
The ONE Vizion Summit successfully engaged Vizrt’s workforce and aligned them with the company’s strategic goals. Employees rated the event highly, with video quality and live-stream value scoring 4.2 out of 5 in post-event surveys.
Research commissioned by Vizrt found how effective video communication can be, with 65 percent of those surveyed agreeing that video updates improve understanding and alignment with company goals.
The ONE Vizion Summit showcased the transformative power of video in internal communications for global organizations—with Vizrt demonstrating how leveraging the right tools can create a unified and engaging experience for employees anywhere in the world.

SEAMLESS STREAMING FOR ADMINISTRATION AND ATHLETICS
The town of Maple Heights was looking to upgrade the existing streaming infrastructure in both the local high school’s athletic center and board of education facility. Working with Sam Avellone, director of Sales from NPI Audio Visual Solutions, they were able to do exactly that.
First, the goal for the Maple Heights Board of Education was to provide a live streaming platform available to both board and community members who are unable to attend meetings and wish to watch online. They also needed the ability to record and archive meetings so people can visit their website to view them at a later time.
The upgraded system includes two JVC’s KYPZ200N CONNECTED CAM NDI|HX-enabled PTZ cameras, a RM-LP350G Desktop Control Surface, a RM-LP5G PTZ Camera Controller, and a KM-IPS84 vMix Switcher for streaming board of education council meetings. The
school district records these meetings using JVC’s KY-PZ200N NDI PTZ cameras.
The board of education quickly found the KYPZ200N PTZ cameras’ plug-and-play capabilities to be intuitive, the image quality impressive, and the ability to use multiple presets for the PTZ cameras a big plus. The ability to have individual presets for each council member’s chair, as well as for the podium where speakers present, allows the camera operator to access a variety of scene angles instantaneously and provides viewers with a dynamic viewing experience.
Avellone has done multiple installations for schools, houses of worship, and sports facilities using JVC Professional Video, and trusts their products to perform in any environment. “The optics are superior with JVC cameras. I will never compromise the quality of the image because of the name on the camera,” he stated adamantly. “We have worked with other brands
and found with some that the image quality is inferior, pixelated—and when you’re doing broadcast, especially when streaming, you’ve got to have a good-quality image.”
Avellone continued, “What’s happened is you now have customers that see the difference between a good stream and a bad stream. There are three things that make a good stream: superior-quality video, high-quality audio, and animated graphics. This is reinforced with the ability to have different camera angles and fly a lower third in and out to keep their attention.”
The board of education also can share presentations or documents by bringing them into the KM-IPS84 vMix Switcher easily from a laptop. “The features of the vMix switcher, with the built-in graphics, the ability to build layers, and use lower thirds and graphics over the top—it’s a no brainer from a cost standpoint.”
Photography courtesy of JVC

Avellone explained.
Next on the upgrade agenda was Maple Heights’ athletic center. The athletic center AV system installation is also powered by JVC PTZ cameras, camera controller, and CONNECTED CAM IP streaming switchers. The integration included providing the program out of JVC’s KM-IPS84 video switcher to the facility’s new video boards as well as the athletic center’s video control console for streaming to the web.
The KY-PZ200N CONNECTED CAM NDI|HX-enabled PTZ cameras, combined with the additional JVC Professional Video affordable workflow tools, were chosen with the intention of capturing a variety of sports as their seasons change. The center also uses the PTZ cameras to capture events such as assemblies and presentations.
Included among the JVC equipment installed was the multi-award-winning KM-IP8S4
CONNECTED CAM vMix Studio Switcher, which can manage a minimum of eight NDI inputs at 1080p60 using vMix 4K-licensed software. The 2RU device is optimized for switching live programming in SD up to full HD 1080p60 and offers several output options, including one 3G-SDI, one HDMI, four DisplayPort, and a Gigabit Ethernet network port. The installation also includes the RM-LP350G CONNECTED CAM vMix Control Surface, a desktop controller for vMix that works with the JVC KM-IP8 systems to enable traditional-style switching; as well as the RM-LP100 Advanced Remote Camera Controller with joystick, rocker switch, and a 7-inch touchscreen panel that provides remote control of PTZ operation, position presets, and image painting capability for up to 99 cameras.
JVC’s IP streaming switcher’s capability to operate in an NDI infrastructure played a
key factor in this installation by addressing the need to switch between multiple camera inputs such as SDI, HDMI, and NDI. Maple Heights found this feature to be very enticing. One major example is the ability to switch from the live feed to an instant highlight replay reel with sponsored logos and send it back to the stadium over the same network cable to display on the video scoreboard in real time with no latency.
Lastly, future proofing the integration is achieved with NDI and IP technology in JVC’s CONNECTED CAM PTZ cameras and IP streaming switcher solutions. Additional departments can potentially take advantage of the new integration easily, efficiently, and economically by adding cameras installed in other locations within the facility—such as the theater, library, and gymnasium—via the school’s IP network to meet the institution’s needs as they arise.
