PROVIDENCE SCHOOL OF TIFTON

Parent Technology Partnership Agreement

Purpose

In a spirit of unity and love, we as parents of students at Providence School of Tifton, commit together to uphold a shared standard of limited technology use during the school week (Monday through Friday) as part of our partnership in Classical Christian education This commitment is rooted not in legalism or pride, but in a desire to foster quiet minds, imaginative hearts, diligent work habits, and spiritual attentiveness in our children.

As we pursue the cultivation of wisdom and virtue, we affirm that formative silence, creative boredom, interpersonal relationships, and active learning are better served by less screen exposure, especially during the formative hours and days of the school week

Shared Commitments (Monday–Friday)

We, the undersigned parents, commit to the following for our school-aged children during the school week (Monday morning through Friday afternoon):

1. No Recreational Screen Time

● No movies, video games, TV, YouTube, or social media

● No smartphone use for non-essential communication

2. Limited Educational Use

● Any technology use for school assignments or research will be monitored and intentional.

● Devices (if used) will be kept in common spaces, not bedrooms or private areas.

● AI tools will not be used for academic shortcuts or content creation

3. Prioritize Rich Alternatives

We commit to replacing screen time with:

● Reading living books and Scripture

● Outdoor play, board games, family conversations

● Music, drawing, building, and imaginative free play

● Unhurried routines and shared meals

Partnership and Encouragement

We make this commitment not in isolation, but in partnership with one another, so that our children are not alone in living differently. We agree to:

● Speak with other parents about this commitment with grace and encouragement

● Avoid pressure or guilt when exceptions arise, and instead pursue accountability in love.

● Share ideas, rhythms, and encouragement within our parent community.

Spiritual Foundation

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind ” – Romans 12:2

We affirm that this commitment flows from a belief that human hearts are shaped by habits and loves Limiting screens is not merely a disciplinary choice it is a discipleship practice that opens space for the Holy Spirit to shape our children in wisdom and wonder

By Acknowledging these statements, you agree to the weekday screen-free commitment as outlined above, and commit to supporting this initiative in my home and in partnership with the school and other families
