“Classicaleducationcomesfroma2,400yeartraditionofteachingstudentshowtothink,notwhattothink (withanemphasisonvirtueandwisdom).Classicaleducationteachesstudentstogofromwhatisconcreteto abstractusingthetoolsoftheTrivium(grammar,logic,andrhetoric),whichtakesadvantageofastudent’s naturalcapacityforlearning.ClassicaleducationemphasizestheLiberalArtstraditionandtheGreatBooksthat formedWesternCivilization.

Classicaleducationtrainsstudentstoseektruth,beauty,andgoodness.EarlyChristians"baptized"Classical pedagogybecauseofJesus,theultimateexpressionoftruth,goodness,andbeauty. EducatingtheWholePerson.Weeducatewiththewholepersoninmind(body,mindandspirit)and thereforeequipstudentswithdeeptheologyandexcellentacademicsforalloflife,nomatterthevocationto whichastudentiscalled(1Cor.10:31).

CoreCurriculum

3-DayModel.VeritasAcademyisdedicatedtothebeliefthatthecoreacademicstudiesofmath,scienceand humanitiescanbesuccessfullytaughtina3-dayhybridmodel.AllclasseswillbetaughtoncampusMonday, Wednesday,andFriday.TuesdaysandThursdaysarehomedays,wherestudentswillpracticeandimplement whattheyhavebeentaughtonthecorein-schooldays.Familieswillalsohavediscretiontotakefieldtrips,or engageinextracurricularactivities Inthismodel,newmaterialisnotexpectedtobetaughtathome;however, parentswillbehelpingstudentspracticewhattheyhavelearned,andfosterahealthy,consistenthomelearning environment Youngerstudentswillpracticewhatthey'velearnedandastheygainindependenceintheir academicstheywillbegintoprepareforthenextclassthroughreadingandstudy.

OnGender,Marriage,andSexuality

WedonotwantfinancestobeareasonthatafamilycannotsendtheirchildrentoVeritasAcademywhilewealso wanttobegoodstewardsofdonorfunds Weaskthatfamiliesinneedoftuitionassistanceaskgrandparents, churches,andfamilybeforeapplyingforfinancialaid Iftuitionassistanceisstillnecessaryweuseathirdparty financialaidprocessorcalledBeneFAQ Theapplicationis$35andVeritasAcademyreceivesareportrelatedto whatafamilycanfeasiblyaffordbasedontheirfinancialportfolio.Withthisinformation,ourcommitteemakes adecisiontakingintoaccountthereportandanyextenuatingcircumstance.Ourdesireisthatafamilyinneedof tuitionassistanceisabletopayaminimumof10%oftheirsalarytowardsChristianeducation,butwealso reviewthefinancialcircumstancesinmakingourdetermination
