USING THE LEARNING FUND FOR AREA COLLEGE CONCURRENT
ENROLLMENT
Updated: November 7, 2024
The Learning Fund is available to help with the cost of area concurrent classes. Here’s what you need to know.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
o The Learning Fund may not cover the full cost of concurrent enrollment, as this is dependent on the available funds in a student’s account. Any remaining balance is the family’s responsibility.
o Learning Fund availability can be low or depleted after the fall semester, impacting spring semester use. Check your Learning Fund balance before enrolling in concurrent courses to avoid unexpected out-of-pocket expenses.
TUITION WAIVERS
o The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) provides this waiver, which is applied to the college tuition. No action is required from the student regarding this waiver.
BOOK COSTS
o As of Sept. 6, 2024, the Learning Fund can no longer cover the cost of books for concurrent enrollment classes. Families are responsible for book expenses.
REQUIRED ACTION ITEM: STUDENTS MUST REQUEST AN ITEMIZED COLLEGE BILL
Families must request that the college send an itemized bill directly to Epic’s Invoice Department. The bill must include the student’s full name.
Juniors and seniors: This request should be made after the OSDE tuition waivers are applied at public colleges. Ensure this request is made by the third week of classes to avoid enrollment delays for the following semester.
