The heat is on! According to the internet, the average high temperature for our area in August is one degree less than the average high in July of 89 degrees But when you factor in the effect of humidity, our ”feels like” temperature can reach triple digits as it did this past month Please be sure you are taking the proper precautions when doing anything outdoors and remember that if you feel thirsty, you're already experiencing some level of dehydration Thirst is a signal from your body that it's running low on fluids and needs to replenish While thirst isn't a sign of severe dehydration, it does indicate that your body is already working to compensate for a fluid deficit That cued up the perfect segue to introduce our Ladies Sips and Tips event Wednesday August 6 The “Sips” part is easy, order your favorite beverage to enjoy with some complimentary hors d’oeuvres I’ll take care of the “Tips” part by sharing strategies for getting the most out of your practice time We’ll get started at 4pm and wrap it up at 5pm so you’ll have time to join friends for dinner Ladies, don’t miss this!
How about enjoying a little more complimentary golf knowledge Our Head Professional Billy is hosting a complimentary clinic the following day The time has been moved from 2pm to 10:30am to try to beat a little bit of the heat, but please come prepared to sweat a little and be ready to rehydrate Chef Zac is hosting another “Cooking with Chef” this month featuring Beef Wellington Interactive, social, informative and delicious - don’t miss this fun afternoon with our amazing Chef The class is filling up, call soon!
Before you launch into the rest of this month’s newsletter, I want to take a moment to thank you for your patience during the greens renovation this summer The project is right on schedule and everything is coming together nicely We are truly excited for what lies ahead In the meantime, please watch for continuing eblast updates from the Superintendent David and hang in there through the heat of summer Fall is on it’s way!

Message From The Pro,
Summer is a really good time to replace your worn grips with new ones For those of you who play & practice often, the oil from sweat traps dirt and makes the grips very slick If your grip is slick, it causes the clubface to spin during impact thus resulting in poor accuracy. If we do not have the style grip you use, we can order them and usually get them in 3 to 4 days Stop by the Golf Shop desk and let us evaluate your grips today
This fall we will have Titleist and Callaway fitting days scheduled. Please be looking for the promo emails from the club.

MEN’S GOLF
FROM THE MEN’S GOLF LEAGUE
While our weekly games and tournaments are the core of the MGA, there's an essential tool that keeps us all connected and informed: the official Grand Haven Men's Golf Association website, GHMGA.com If you haven't checked it out lately, you're missing a treasure trove of information designed to make the MGA experience easier and more enjoyable. Think of it as your digital clubhouse, open 24/7.
What Can You Find on GHMGA.com?
The website is constantly updated and acts as a main hub for all things related to our league:
Pairings & Results: Once games and tournaments are set, you can quickly find your pairings and tee times.
After the rounds, official results and payouts are promptly posted so that you can see the results for the weekly game and the points on the Shootout Leaderboard.
News & Announcements: Stay in the loop with the latest MGA news, important announcements, policy updates, and special events.
Rules & Regulations: Do you have a question about a local authority or MGA-specific guidelines? The website hosts important documents and clarifications of rules.
Photos & Fun: Relive great memories with photo galleries from past events and tournaments.
Spotlight Golfer: Each month, the MGA features a league member for everyone to meet. Learn about MGA golfers and appreciate their background and interests in our favorite game.
Memoriam: A special section dedicated to MGA golfers who have passed away, leaving a lasting memory for us all.
Why Make GHMGA.com Your First Stop?
In today's fast-paced world, having a centralized, reliable source of information is incredibly valuable. GHMGA.com helps:
Improve Communication: All critical information is in one place, reducing confusion and ensuring everyone has access to the exact details.
Enhance Convenience: Sign up for events from the comfort of your home, check results on the go, and get answers to common questions instantly.
Foster Engagement: It's a great way to stay connected with the league, even when you're not on the course.
We encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with GHMGA.com. Spend a few minutes exploring it, bookmark it on your device, and make it your go-to resource for all MGA-related questions.
We're constantly working to improve our league experience, and our website plays a crucial role in that effort. See you on the course (and online)!
