Science helps us discover the truth about God’s world. It begins with wonder and leads us to worship the Creator
We learn science by doing—observing, asking questions, testing ideas, and learning through hands-on discovery. We don’t just memorize facts; we practice curiosity and careful thinking.
God’s creation includes things we can see and things we can’t. The scientific method is a helpful tool, but it doesn’t replace God’s truth.

Philosophy of Humanities
We study the humanities to understand people, culture, and God's world. Students read stories and explore history Then, they notice patterns in human behavior and our need for a Savior They learn to seek truth, beauty, and goodness, all pointing to Christ. We use tools like grammar, logic, and rhetoric. These help students ask good questions, think clearly, and speak wisely
Our goal is to help students find their place in God’s story and grow into compassionate people who love what is true.
Philosophy of Bible
The Bible is central to everything we do. We see it as God’s true and living Word—full of wisdom and always leading to Jesus. We study it in class, discuss it in the hallways, and live it in our relationships.
Students learn Scripture well, listen for God’s voice, and apply it to all parts of life. Our aim is for students to grow in biblical knowledge and faith, capturing every thought and walking faithfully with Christ.
Philosophy of History
We study history to see how people and nations have lived and changed. We learn from both successes and failures, observing God’s work even amid struggles. Through primary sources and discussions, students find how the past shapes the present and guides the future.
History reminds us that people are made in God’s image but need a Savior. It also reveals God’s faithfulness to redeem and restore. Our goal is to help students grow in wisdom, courage, and gratitude as they move forward in His story.
Philosophy of Literature
We believe literature opens windows into people's hearts and God's truths. Through stories—both fiction and nonfiction—students explore good and evil, conflict and courage, justice and redemption. Each work helps them grow in discernment, empathy, and wisdom.
We use classical tools like grammar, logic, and rhetoric. These tools help students read deeply, think carefully, and respond with truth and grace. Our goal is for students to see their place in God's grand story. We want them to delight in what is true, good, and beautiful as they read, write, and grow.
Philosophy of Art
We believe art shows the creativity of God, the greatest Artist. God made us in His image, so we can create, enjoy, and notice beauty with purpose. Through hands-on projects and careful study, students learn how art tells stories, expresses feelings, and connects people across time and cultures. Art helps them see with care, create with meaning, and think more deeply
Whether drawing, painting, or sculpting, students are encouraged to do their best. When they create with excellence, they honor God and share beauty that points others back to Him.
Philosophy of Music
We see music as a gift and a language from God. Music stirs the heart, trains the mind, and lifts the soul in worship. Through melody, rhythm, and harmony, students find patterns and purpose in sound. They also discover the order in God’s world.
We teach music theory for a strong foundation. We also create space for joyful performance, careful listening, and musical creativity. Whether singing a hymn or reading a score, students
use their voices and instruments. This helps them glorify God and grow in discipline, joy, and wonder
Philosophy of Physical Education
In a Classical Christian school, physical education helps students grow as whole people—body, mind, and soul. God made us as physical beings, and caring for our bodies is part of honoring Him. In PE, students learn that movement, play, and sports are not just about winning but about building character and virtue. Through teamwork, practice, and discipline, they develop courage, self-control, perseverance, and humility. Just as we train our minds to seek truth and wisdom, we train our bodies to be strong, coordinated, and graceful so that we can serve God and others well. Physical education reminds us that our bodies are good gifts from God and that when we use them with purpose and joy, we reflect His beauty and design.
CULTURAL ISSUES
On Gender, Marriage, and Sexuality
Christian Crossroads Academy is committed to the infallibility of the Christian Scriptures in all matters of faith and life. Our aim is to be aligned with the truth of the Bible even when that means being out of alignment with what is considered popular or culturally-acceptable. Moreover, especially as it pertains to the statements below, Christian Crossroads Academy stands in continuity with what the Church has taught, believed, and confessed for over 2000 years. In these matters, we seek to be both clear and compassionate.
We believe that every person—regardless of sinful beliefs or actions—must be shown love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). We repudiate hateful and harassing words or behavior about or toward anyone as out of accord with the teachings of the Bible, the character of our Lord, and the mission of Christian Crossroads Academy We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, sexual or otherwise, seeking his mercy and forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19–21; Rom. 10:9–10; 1 Cor 6:9–11).
We believe that in order to preserve Christian Crossroads Academy’s integrity and effectiveness, as a biblically faithful institution of Christian education and as a model to our community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Christian Crossroads Academy in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, affirm and abide by this statement (Matt. 5:16; Phil. 2:14–16; 1 Thess. 5:22). We also expect students to uphold these biblical values regarding sex, gender, and sexual activity in their speech, dress, and conduct.
On Gender
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as either male or female, both in biological sex and in gender. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image of God (Gen. 1:26–27). “To reject one's biological gender is an act of rebellion against God's design.” *
On Marriage
We believe that according to the Bible, marriage has only one appropriate meaning: the union of one man and one woman in a holy relationship intended to be exclusive and lifelong (Gen. 2:18–25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between men and women joined in marriage (1 Cor. 6:18 and 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4).
On Sexuality
We believe that participating in or approving of any form of sexual activity forbidden in the Bible (including unmarried sex, adultery, homosexual or bisexual behavior, and pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matt. 15:18–20; Rom. 1:24–32; 1 Cor. 6:9–10).
*Christian Crossroads Academy understands that due to sin, we are confronted with genetic brokenness which could include the rare case of a child born intersex. This does not constitute a de-emphasis on the biblical pattern of male/female complementarity
On Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in his image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps. 139). We believe this is the starting point for all discussions related to the sanctity of life (e.g., abortion, euthanasia, war). Gen. 2:18-25; Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5 ; Isaiah 44:2 Exodus 4:11, 20:13; Proverbs 31:8–9).
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Summary:
WE BELIEVE in the Scripture of the Old and New Testament as inspired by God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are our supreme and final authority in faith and life.
WE BELIEVE in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in word, thought and deed.
WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His Ascension into heaven, in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.
WE BELIEVE in the personal and imminent return of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE that all who receive faith by the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
Overview:
Christian Crossroads Academy is distinctly rooted in the historic Protestant tradition while recognizing the Christian identity of those in other historic Christian traditions.
Essential doctrines are those doctrines which the church has taught, believed, and confessed throughout history Essential doctrines are found in those statements which have historically defined basic Christian orthodoxy: the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed. The Bible is upheld as the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, providing the foundation for all matters of belief and conduct. While the school's Statement of Faith outlines key tenets of our beliefs, it does not encompass the full scope of our convictions. We affirm that the Bible itself is the ultimate authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind.
Secondary doctrines are those doctrines which reflect distinctive denominational differences in otherwise historically orthodox Christians. These are not unimportant doctrines and may be discussed and even challenged as students’ progress in maturity.
Christian Crossroads Academy will clearly teach Essential doctrines and provide students the important tools in developing Secondary doctrines. Students will be encouraged to work through these with their parents and in their local church.
Essential Doctrines
The Scriptures
WE BELIEVE the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God. The Bible is without error in all it teaches and is our final authority for faith and life. We believe the Bible, made up of thirty-nine Old Testament books and twenty-seven New Testament books, is God’s complete and final Word. It shows us who God is and reveals His will for people. Given by the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures are completely true and can be trusted in everything they say. The Bible teaches us what is right, points out what is wrong, and trains us to live in God’s way In this way, it equips us for every good work. Through its pages, God speaks clearly and with power. Therefore, all our beliefs, values, and actions must agree with the Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 19: 7-9; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Matthew 5:18; John 17:17)
The Godhead
WE BELIEVE in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spiritcoeternal in being, coeternal in nature, coequal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Deut. 6:4, 2 Cor 13:14)
The Person and Work of Christ
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He is both fully God and fully man. He took on true humanity without ceasing to be God, so that He might reveal God to us and redeem sinful humanity We affirm that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He is our representative and substitutionary sacrifice. By His shed blood we are justified, and through His sinless life, death, and resurrection, He fulfilled God’s covenant promises. Salvation is found in Him alone and is received by faith in Him.
WE BELIEVE that God raised Jesus from the dead in His body, that He ascended bodily into heaven, and that He is now exalted at the right hand of God. There He reigns with all authority as our High Priest, Advocate, and King. From there He intercedes for His people and will return bodily and visibly to judge the world and bring His kingdom to completion. We affirm that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ not only secures our salvation but also sends us into the world to proclaim His gospel and live as witnesses of His kingdom. The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Triune God, fully divine and always present with the Father and the Son. He was sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and He is the agent of the new birth. The Holy Spirit unites believers to Christ. He indwells every believer, seals them until the day of redemption, and equips them with spiritual gifts for service. The Spirit lives in God’s people, giving strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him. He produces spiritual fruit, leads believers into truth, and empowers them for holy living and faithful witness. The Spirit fills believers with power for service and continues the work of sanctification. By His presence, He transforms us into the likeness of Christ. Faith without works is dead. (John 16:8–11, 13; 2 Corinthians 3:6, 17–18; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Ephesians 1:13–14; Romans 8:9; Galatians 5:22–23, 25; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:18; James 2:17, 26)
Humanity and Sin
WE BELIEVE that humanity was created in the image and likeness of God to glorify Him and enjoy fellowship with Him forever. Through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered humanity, and all people inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. Every person is spiritually dead, enslaved to sin, and subject to both physical death and eternal separation from God. Apart from God’s mercy and grace, no one can restore fellowship with Him or earn His favor through human effort. (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:22–23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3, 12)
Salvation By Grace Through Faith
WE BELIEVE that salvation is the gift of God, given by grace and received through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through His blood shed on the cross, we are redeemed, forgiven, and made new When we believe, we are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God. Faith is essential, for without faith it is impossible to please God. We are justified by faith apart from works of the law; good works cannot save us, but those who are saved are called to live by faith in the Son of God. Salvation rests entirely on God’s grace, not on human merit. By His grace, He saves, trains, and transforms us to renounce ungodliness, to live godly lives, and to await the appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8–10; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18–19; John 1:12–13; Titus 3:5–6; Romans 3:28; Hebrews 11:6; Galatians 2:20; Romans 11:6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; James 2:17–18; Titus 2:11–14)
The Church
WE BELIEVE in one universal Church made up of all believers united in Christ. The Church is the Body and Bride of Christ, a spiritual community of all who are born again by the Spirit. The New Testament teaches the importance of local churches, where believers gather for worship, fellowship, teaching, and prayer. God appoints leaders to equip His people and build up the Church to fulfill the Great Commission. We affirm the unity of the global Church across nations, cultures, and denominations, and commit to work together for the sake of the gospel. We also affirm baptism and the Lord’s Supper as scriptural acts of testimony, given to the Church as signs of our union with Christ and His saving work.
WE BELIEVE that the mission of the Church is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations, making disciples of every generation, and to demonstrate the love of Christ through works of compassion and justice. (Matthew 28:19–20; Ephesians 1:22–23; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Ephesians 5:25–27; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Acts 2:41–42; 1 Timothy 3:1–3; Titus 1:5–11; Ephesians 4:11–13.)
The Return of Christ and Final Judgment
WE BELIEVE in the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Savior, Jesus Christ. At His coming, He will raise the dead, both the righteous and the unrighteous. Those who have trusted in Him will enter everlasting joy, while those who have rejected Him will face eternal separation from God. Jesus will return as King of kings and Lord of lords to judge the nations, to bring final victory over sin, Satan, and death, and to establish His kingdom in righteousness. God will create a new heaven and a new earth, where His people will dwell with Him forever. This hope encourages us to live watchfully and faithfully, awaiting the day when Christ is glorified among all nations and all things are under His lordship. (John 5:28–29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Titus 2:11–14; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–4).
The Ministry and Spiritual Gifts
WE BELIEVE that God oversees giving spiritual gifts. Every believer is called to discover, develop, and use the gifts from the Holy Spirit. These gifts build up the Body of Christ. We affirm that the Holy Spirit is active today, including in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We also recognize that having or lacking any gift does not determine spiritual maturity.
We believe God hears and answers prayers of faith for the sick and troubled, according to His perfect will. It is each believer's privilege and duty to serve using the gifts and grace God has given them. They should exercise these gifts in love and for God's glory. (Romans 12:1 8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 27-31; Ephesians 4:7 8, 11-13; 1 Peter 4:10 11; John 15:7; 1 John 5:14 15)
The Reality of Evil and Spiritual Conflict
WE BELIEVE that evil is real and present in the world through sin, suffering, and the deceptive work of Satan and his demons. Humanity’s rebellion has given rise to brokenness in individuals, families, societies, and creation itself We affirm that Jesus Christ has triumphed over sin, death, and Satan through His cross and resurrection. While the final defeat of evil awaits His return, believers are called to resist the devil, stand firm in the faith, and engage in spiritual warfare through prayer, obedience, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We also affirm that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only ultimate answer to the problem of evil, bringing forgiveness, healing, justice, and hope to a fallen world. (Ephesians 6:10–18; Colossians 2:15; 1 Peter 5:8–9; Romans 8:18–23; Revelation 12:10–11).
Moral Conduct & Biblical Authority
WE BELIEVE and affirm God's design for marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, and uphold that gender identity and sexuality are grounded in God-created design. All members of the school community are expected to uphold these values consistent with Scripture. (Genesis 1:27, 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Romans 1:24–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9–11)
Sanctity of Life
WE BELIEVE believes that all human life is sacred and that we are created in the image of God and called to defend and protect that life. (Gen. 2:18-25; Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5 ; Isaiah 44:2 Exodus 4:11, 20:13; Proverbs 31:8–9).
Secondary Doctrine
We define secondary doctrine as doctrinal issues which are not directly addressed in our Statement of Faith. CCA maintains a neutral stance on matters of secondary doctrine, choosing not to promote one specific theological view over another in these areas. Faculty and staff are encouraged to focus on the core tenets of the Christian faith and to avoid teaching secondary doctrines as dogma. When secondary doctrines are discussed, they should be presented with balance, acknowledging differing interpretations among Christian believers.
In matters of secondary doctrine, Christian Crossroad’s Academy administrators and teachers will:
1 Encourage and challenge students to think and be discerning on all matters according to the truth of God’s Word
2 Foster a classroom environment, especially at the secondary level, of love, respect, and charity among students.
3 Be encouraged to charitably present the various sides of a secondary issue.
4 Seek to maintain unity among our students and families according to our Statement of Faith by not teaching secondary doctrines as primary and not disparaging secondary doctrinal beliefs that are contrary to their personal convictions.
5. Encourage students to seek the support and instruction of their parents and their local church.
6. The following list is not exhaustive but represents some of the secondary doctrine discussions that may occur (mainly) at the secondary level:
Age of the Earth
We will teach that God is the creator and the intelligent designer behind all creation. God is the Creator, ordering the universe with wisdom and purpose. Genesis teaches that life is not an accident but a reflection of God’s design, with humanity uniquely made in His image. This conviction shapes a worldview that sees purpose, order, and meaning woven into every aspect of creation. Because of this, we teach Intelligent Design, helping students recognize that the complexity and beauty of the natural world point beyond themselves to a wise and good Creator. Our goal is to cultivate wonder, gratitude, and responsibility before the God who made all things. We will discuss numerous frameworks for creation and the origin of life.
Eschatology
We will teach about the imminent return of Jesus and that the dead will be raised to eternal life or eternal judgment. This will expand, in the secondary years, to discussion of three held views of eschatology: historical premillennialism, amillennialism, and partial preterist postmillennialism.
*Historic Premillennialism: the rapture of the church, followed by the imminent return of Christ after a period of tribulation with a following age of peace where Satan is bound until right before the final judgment.
*Amillennialism: the millennium is symbolic and represents the time of Church growth that is spiritual rather than physical. Jesus' imminent return will occur after a “millennium” of people coming to Christ. There are various aspects to timing held within this view.
*Postmillennialism: Satan was bound at the cross, the millennial period is a period rather than a literal thousand years. During this millennium the gospel will spread “to the ends of the earth” until death is the last to be conquered and put under Jesus’ feet, when the earth will be transformed in the “blink of an eye” with Jesus’ imminent return. This view holds that many of the New Testament prophetic passages were fulfilled by the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD.
Baptism
Baptism is the washing with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; it signifies and seals our adoption into Christ, our cleansing from sin, and our commitment to belong to the Lord and to his church. In the secondary years we will discuss the two main positions, credobaptism and paedobaptism, as a viable, orthodox belief.
*Credobaptism: This position teaches that baptism is a sign of a believer’s fellowship with Christ in his death and resurrection and should be administered to those who profess repentance toward God and faith in and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ. Believers are to be baptized in the name of the Triune God by immersion in water
*Paedobaptism: This position teaches that baptism is a sign and seal of the covenant of grace. Immersion into water is not necessary, but is rightly administered by pouring or sprinkling water upon the person in the name of the Triune God. Infants of one or both believing parents are to be baptized, not for salvation, but so that the promised grace of God is exhibited and conferred by the Holy Spirit to such as that grace belongs to, according to God’s own will and in His appointed time.
Gifts of the Spirit
We will teach that the Holy Spirit is God, coeternal with the Father and the Son, and that God grants him irrevocably to all who believe and that He is the believer’s Helper who convicts us of our sin, comforts us, guides us, gives us spiritual gifts and the desire to obey God; and he enables us to pray and to understand God’s Word. In the secondary years we will discuss the two main positions concerning the gifts of the Spirit, continuationism and cessationism. We affirm the present, on-going ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling regenerates and empowers believers for godly living.
*Continuationism is the belief that all the spiritual gifts, including healings, tongues, and miracles, are still in operation today, just as they were in the days of the early church. A continuationist believes that the spiritual gifts have “continued” unabated since the Day of Pentecost and that today’s church has access to all the spiritual gifts mentioned in the Bible.
*Cessationism: Cessationism is the view that the “miracle gifts” of tongues and healing have ceased—that the end of the apostolic age brought about a cessation of the miracles associated with that age. Most cessationists believe that, while God can and still does perform miracles today, the Holy Spirit no longer uses individuals to perform miraculous signs.
Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers
The question of whether salvation, once received, can ever be lost is one of the most discussed topics in Christian theology. Faithful, Bible-believing Christians hold differing views on this
matter, each rooted in Scripture and centuries of reflection. In secondary classes, we may examine both perspectives, equipping students to engage the topic thoughtfully, biblically, and respectfully.
*Assurance: All the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever. It is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word which clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh.
*Conditional Continuance: Salvation is genuinely available for every person who responds in faith. God desires all to be saved. And, persistent faith and relationship with Christ must be maintained. Should a person willfully abandon their faith, it is held that salvation can be forfeited.
Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
We will teach that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Triune God, coeternal with the Father and the Son. At conversion, He unites believers to Christ, indwells them, and equips them for godly living and service. All believers receive the Holy Spirit, who regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers them for Christian life and witness. In the secondary years, we will discuss two main views on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit: the “conversion view” and the “second blessing view” We affirm the Spirit’s ongoing ministry, whose presence renews, strengthens, and equips every believer.
*Conversion View: The belief that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit occurs at the moment of salvation. In this view, every Christian receives the Spirit fully when they are born again, and there is no second experience required for empowerment.
*Second Blessing View: The belief that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience that follows conversion. In this view, believers first receive the Spirit at salvation but may later experience a deeper filling or empowerment for ministry and witness.
The Lord’s Supper (Communion)
We will teach that Jesus gave the Lord’s Supper to His followers as a way to remember His death, to proclaim the gospel, and to strengthen our faith. It is a gift of grace that unites believers with Christ and with one another. In the secondary years, we will discuss four main views of the Lord’s Supper that Christians hold: memorial, spiritual presence, sacramental union, and transubstantiation. We affirm that all believers are called to examine themselves, to participate with reverence, and to proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
*Memorial View: This view sees the Lord’s Supper as a symbolic act of remembrance. The bread and cup are powerful reminders of Christ’s sacrifice, but they remain ordinary elements. Believers participate as a testimony of faith and obedience.
*Spiritual Presence View: This view holds that while the bread and cup remain ordinary elements, Christ is truly present by the Holy Spirit. Believers are spiritually nourished through faith as they partake.
*Sacramental Union: This view teaches that Christ’s body and blood are truly present “in, with, and under” the bread and wine. The Supper is more than a memorial; it is a means of grace for strengthening believers.
*Transubstantiation: This view teaches that at the consecration during Mass, the bread and wine are changed in substance into the actual body and blood of Christ, even though they still look and taste like bread and wine. The Eucharist is the real presence of Christ—body, blood, soul, and divinity. It is central to Catholic worship as a sacrament that conveys grace and unites believers to Christ.
Israel
In the secondary years, students may explore two Christian views regarding Israel: Dispensational Theology and Replacement Theology. Both are held by believers seeking to understand Scripture. We affirm God’s heart for all people, pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and proclaim the gospel to every nation, including the Jewish people.
*Dispensational Theology. Dispensationalists believe God has separate plans for Israel and the Church. Israel remains central in prophecy, and God’s covenant promises to Israel—including land and kingdom—will be literally fulfilled. The Church does not replace Israel; instead, God will restore Israel during future end-times events, including Christ’s millennial reign.
*Replacement Theology (Supersessionism): This view teaches that the Church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. God’s covenant promises now apply to the Church alone, as Israel forfeited its role by rejecting Christ. Critics argue this ignores Scripture affirming Israel’s ongoing purpose in God’s redemptive story.
Summary
Christian Crossroads Academy will approach secondary doctrine discussions from a protestant and orthodox perspective. The primary years will introduce some of these topics through both class material and questions from students. In the secondary years, we will encourage robust discussion and debate so that students learn to interrogate Scripture, seek truth, and debate in a manner that demonstrates love for their neighbor. Christian Crossroads Academy is committed to a healthy discussion of this issue in a way that values all those of other opinions
yet does not compromise our values. Our goal is Christian unity within the parameters of the Apostles’ Creed and the truth of Scripture.

In the last century, schools have assumed a fragmented view that reduces a person to an individual in need of knowledge. DISCIPLINE POLICY
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” – Hebrews 12:11
Christian Crossroads Academy recognizes that the purpose of discipline is to develop our fellowship and love for God and neighbor (Mark 12:30-31). Discipline is necessary for discipleship. To this end, discipline is not meant to simply modify outward behavior, but to train the heart to love Jesus.
General Guidelines
Discipline is administered in light of severity, situation, and attitude of the individual student. The kind of discipline may be determined by the teachers or, and if necessary, Administration (e.g., Head of School) following the guidelines below Any disciplinary action must be done in love with the hope of restoration.
Classroom Discipline
God is a God of order and our teachers foster this order through classroom discipleship (1 Cor. 14:33, 40). Students will be asked to behave in a way that fosters respect for their teacher especially as it relates to love for God and their neighbors in class. General behaviors that can be corrected in-class include:
● Minor classroom disruption
● Nuisance behavior to teacher or students
● Inappropriate use of classroom material
Three opportunities will be offered to help students course-correct. At that point an office visit will be held. At the office visit a consequence will be given along with a note to the parent.
Potential Discipleship Opportunities During an Office Visit
These activities are designed to encourage personal growth, reflection, and responsibility:
1. Helping Clean and Care for Our Spaces
a. Tidying common areas and picking up trash
b. Freshening up bathrooms
c. Sweeping or vacuuming floors
d. Wiping down desks, walls, and whiteboards
e. Assisting with outdoor clean-up
2. Building Physical Endurance and Self-Discipline
a. Wall sits
b. Jumping jacks
c. Short laps
d. Push-ups
e. Burpees
3. Reflective and Restorative Actions
a. Writing a reflective note on what happened and what could be done differently
b. Taking steps to make things right and show responsibility
c. Practicing asking for forgiveness when appropriate
d. Temporarily giving up certain privileges as a reminder of responsibility
e. Practicing expected behaviors to reinforce positive habits
f If needed, taking a break for the rest of the day to reflect at home
Office Visit for Overt Behavior
Overt behaviors which require administrative involvement necessitates parent notification. Depending on the severity of the infraction, students may need to be picked up immediately
from school and in some cases, receive suspension. For discipline to be effective, it is imperative for teachers and parents to behave as a team. If this can’t be accomplished, a student may need to be unenrolled until such a time as an agreement can be reached.
● Flagrant disrespect shown to staff
● Dishonesty (e.g., lying, cheating, stealing)
● Defiance (e.g., outright disobedience, consistent correction, or rebellion)
● Fighting (e.g., striking with the intention to harm another student)
● Bullying (i.e., when a student deliberately harasses another student during or outside of school and includes cyber-bullying)
● Enabling others bad behavior
● Acts that endanger the lives of another person
● Vandalism
● Theft
● Inappropriate use of school property or facility
● Inappropriate language (e.g., obscene, vulgar, profane)
● Romantic displays of affection (e.g., kissing, hugging, hand-holding, etc.)
● Sexual misconduct (e.g., inappropriate touching, use of pornography, etc.)
● Illegal substance abuse (e.g., drug or alcohol use)
● Weapons on campus (e.g., guns, knives, etc.)
Degrees of Discipline for Overt Behaviors
The degree of discipline depends on the severity of the offense and may lead to expulsion through a disciplinary hearing process.
Re-Admittance
Should a student who was expelled, or who withdrew to prevent expulsion, desire to be readmitted to Christian Crossroads Academy at a later date, they would require a discipline hearing involving the parents, teachers, and school Administration. The Education Council, in consultation with the Head of School, will make a decision based on the student's attitude and circumstances.
Electronic Device Policy
Use of personal electronic devices (i.e., phones, smart phones, portable gaming devices, smart watches etc.) by students is prohibited on campus. Such devices may be brought to school ,but they must be checked in at the school office during school hours
● Use of laptops is permissible for secondary academic purposes only under the pre-approved direction and supervision of a teacher
● A first violation of this policy will result in immediate confiscation of the device, to be released to a parent or guardian.
● A second violation of this policy will result in a parent conference with Administration.
● A third violation of this policy will result in a disciplinary hearing.
● Christian Crossroads Academy accepts no responsibility for use, breakage, theft, or loss of phone or other personal items.
Cheating and Plagiarism
Cheating is defined as looking at another’s work without the teacher’s permission or communicating with another during an exam without the teacher’s permission.
Plagiarism is defined as using another’s work without acknowledging and thanking them for the use.
If either cheating or plagiarism is noticed, the assignment or exam will immediately receive a 0. Parents will be notified. A second cheating or plagiarism infraction will result in an Education Council review.
Dress Code Violation
If faculty notices a dress code violation, they will inform Administration, and Administration will notify parents through a Dress Code Violation Form (via ClassReach). After 4 dress code violations, an office visit will follow in addition to email notification. After the 5th violation within a semester, the student will be sent home. Subsequent dress code violations will require the Dean of Students to treat the violations as office visits in accordance with the discipline policy.
*A dress code violation is a violation that cannot be corrected in class

Grades at Christian Crossroads Academy do not in any way reflect the immeasurable worth and value of each child made in God’s image, but rather they are a reflection of the quality of work in a given field of study at a given time. At Christian Crossroads Academy, grades serve three basic purposes:
1. To help students to improve
2. To determine the best placement level considering academic ability
3. To provide a just and legitimate means of holding students accountable for the quality of their work
Grades provide a widely understood means of communicating progress and achievement to parents and other parties such as college entrance boards or other schools to which the young student may transfer
PARENT COMMUNICATION AND INVOLVEMENT
At Christian Crossroads Academy, we recognize that parents are ultimately responsible for the education and flourishing of their children. We believe that educators are facilitators and advisors as parents pursue this important work.
Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled as needed. We encourage teachers and parents to communicate regularly about how the student is doing and to schedule formal meetings as needed.
Teachers may be contacted through ClassReach outside of regular working hours. When addressing any concerns, parents should copy the Head of School to keep the school informed of classroom circumstances. Teachers will do the same when addressing concerns via emails with parents.
If you have a concern about curriculum content, Christian Crossroads Academy policy, or philosophy, communicate with the Head of School. If you have questions about the weekly workings of a particular classroom (e.g., homework load), contact the Lead Teacher through ClassReach. At no time should an individual student’s problem be addressed to non-involved parties. In the great majority of cases, if you have worked patiently and in good faith, with the
teacher and directors, you will find a satisfactory resolution.
Please follow Matthew 18:15 to determine the proper order of communication: “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.”

Parent Honor Code
I am placing my child as a student at Christian Crossroads Academy because I care about my child being educated both in character and in academics. I understand that my child will be educated under a Christian worldview and that loving God and neighbor are primary tenants of Christian Crossroads Academy. I also understand that the responsibility of Christian nurture is ultimately the responsibility of parents (Eph. 6:4, Deuteronomy 6:7-9). I understand the importance of participation in a local church and cultivating an at-home spiritual environment to the raising of my student(s) in the Lord.
Part of loving God and neighbor means being on time, present, and respectful. Christian Crossroads Academy has been very thoughtful in developing a school schedule that allows for solid family time during summers, holidays and various breaks. For this reason, I understand that school attendance is a way of loving teachers and classmates and I will ensure that my child is present and on time unless an emergency arises. In cases of planned absences or important family time, I understand that it is my responsibility to communicate with the teachers and make a plan for the class time my child will miss without putting an excessive burden on the teachers. I also understand that poor attendance may cause my child to fall behind.
I understand that a Uniform Policy is a way of loving those around us by respecting a unified and meaningful representation of our school culture, including professionalism, modesty and our distinct values. I will make sure that my child follows the uniform policy so that this culture is maintained.
I understand that my child will need to submit to the authority of Christian Crossroads Academy faculty and staff during school events. I also understand that I will be ultimately responsible for my child’s behavior while at Christian Crossroads Academy and thereby will follow the directives of the school as outlined below.
If a discipline note goes home from a teacher or the Head of School, I understand that I need to work with my child on changing their behavior through the heart, by encouraging them to seek forgiveness.
If my child continues to incur infractions, it will be clear to me that I need to deal more seriously and consistently with my child. I also understand that my child will be dealt with in accordance with the discipline policy outlined in this handbook and that I will need to meet with the Head of School in cases of excessive office visits to work out a plan designed to correct my child’s disruptive behavior
If my child continues to remain unresponsive to correction, I understand that my child may be subject to a disciplinary hearing as outlined by the discipline policy of this handbook. I also agree that if my child is subject to a disciplinary hearing before the school board for excessive office visits or for any extreme ungodly behavior that impedes school culture, that I will abide by the board's decision. If the school board decides to suspend or expel my child, I understand that Tuition will not be reimbursed.
I understand that the teachers at Christian Crossroads Academy aim to educate the whole person and will keep the wellbeing of the student in mind. Therefore, all efforts will be made to not impede grading as it may affect my child’s next steps.
By enrolling my child in Christian Crossroads Academy, I understand the important mission to special needs children. I understand that Christian Crossroads Academy will notify me if my child is exposed to such a behavior, or if my child exhibits such a behavior I also understand that, no matter the special need, behavior that falls into the category of “serious discipline case” including: unsafe behavior that endangers others, or overt moral issues will be addressed through a discipline hearing and not excused due to the special need.

Internet Use and Social Media
Students are held to the same standard of behavior whether they are on campus or online at home. Individuals agree to use these technological tools honorably and responsibly.
The following is not permitted:
● Sending or displaying offensive messages or intimate pictures
● Using obscene, vulgar, or profane language
● Harassing, tormenting, threatening, embarrassing, humiliating, insulting, or attacking others
● Texting or social media interaction with teachers
ClassReach communication is permitted for students, parents, and teachers.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Lunch
Students will bring packed lunches to be eaten in their classroom or outside if the weather permits. Please pack lunches that do not have to be heated or refrigerated. Please alert us of any severe allergies so that we are aware (please provide an epinephrine pen if severe reactions occur). At Christian Crossroads Academy, we value health and wellness, so please keep this in mind when packing lunches, as your young students will be learning about nutrition, a balanced diet, etc. A well “fueled” brain enhances the learning experience.
Snacks
Parents are welcome to send an easy to eat snack (we recommend a nutritious snack) for mid-morning. Water is the only beverage allowed to accompany snacks.

Administration of Medicines
Administration may administer over-the-counter medication to the children in their care but only with authorization from the child’s parent or guardian through the ClassReach release form.
We reserve the right to refuse the responsibility of prescription administration for any reason. If this occurs, we will be happy to accommodate parent visits during the day for the purpose of medication administration.
Illness Policy
In consideration of your young student’s wellness, in addition, preventing the spread of illness to your child’s classmates and teachers, a young student should be symptom-free a full 24 hours from the following before returning to onsite classes:
● Fever - Temperature of 100 degrees or above without the use of fever-reducing medication.
● Vomiting/diarrhea
● Please do not send children with highly contagious illnesses such as strep, hand/foot/mouth, or pinkeye (to name a few).
Government Agency Requests
Christian Crossroads Academy values our parent partnership and as such we will notify parents of any interaction with a government agency such as child protective services, as it relates to your child. Our policy is as follows:
Parents will be notified and their presence requested prior to a government agency being allowed to interview a child during school hours.
Christian Crossroads Academy will do its best to uphold this policy with any government agency but cannot be held liable if we are not able to reach a family or if the government agency uses legal force to demand the interview.
