Doc Edge Forum is a dynamic and engaging event dedicated to fostering dialogue and collaboration within the documentary filmmaking community.

It brings together filmmakers, industry professionals, decisionmakers, and experts to explore the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the documentary world.

Through panel discussions, keynote presentations, case studies, and networking sessions, the Forum facilitates knowledge-sharing and idea exchange. It also provides valuable insights into financing, production, distribution, and audience engagement strategies, empowering filmmakers with the tools they need to succeed in the ever-evolving documentary landscape.

The 2023 Forum was held in Auckland on 2 June at the EMA Conference Centre and 3 June at the Ellen Melville Centre accompanying the Doc Edge International Documentary Festival.

The four main topics were: Side of Documentary, Authenticity in the Age of Deepfakes and Hasta La Vista Baby – the Impact of Cancel Culture on Arts & Culture.
