Pitch Observations
• There is a growth in number of the local submissions (14) compared to last year's (9) with more stories from/about the Asian and Pasifika communities in New Zealand.
• The series of workshops enabled filmmakers to learn how to develop their projects and their personal presentation skills. In addition, the pitch decision-makers are generously providing feedback to enable filmmakers to learn from their collective wisdom.

• Unfortunately, two of our local submissions with indigenous stories could not carry on with the projects due to legal issues. However, they were invited to attend workshops and the Pitch finals as speculators and will submit their projects to Pitch 2024.
• We have also opened the Pitch finals to the invited documentary students from South Seas Films School and Forum attendees. This is done to create more activities and opportunities for networking and peer-to-peer feedback.
