WY QUARTERLY? WHY NOW? WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MONTHLY?
We started the year by asking how to reach more residents— today, we take another step toward answering that question. Introducing the Ranchers’ RoundUp Quarterly.
What began as a desire to place more information directly in the hands of Dobson Ranch residents has grown into an opportunity to revive something that was nearly lost. The RoundUp was on the brink of becoming an online-only publication, but the voices of our homeowners brought it back. Residents emailed us, visited the office, and spoke with us at events—your concerns were heard. The revival of this publication is more than a shift in format; it’s a renewed commitment to keeping our community informed and engaged. In the article ahead, I’ll share the motivation behind the change, explain the proposal, and outline how this quarterly publication will better serve Dobson Ranch.
We knew something had to change. Either our communication methods weren’t reaching every resident—or residents were choosing not to stay informed. When multiple residents reached out to the administration office over the larger part of last year and shared that they knew very little about what was happening with the Board of Directors or upcoming events, we were surprised that our communication efforts did not have the reach we thought.
Since joining the Dobson Ranch staff in January 2024, my mission has been clear: to find more efficient and effective ways to deliver HOA information to our community. Whether that information lands in your inbox or your mailbox, that’s the starting point—because, as the saying goes, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.”
“The most exciting and perhaps most meaningful element is the return of home delivery.”
The proposal submitted to the Board of Directors on May 28, outlined the long-standing legacy of the Ranchers’ RoundUp and its deep-rooted value within the Dobson Ranch community. It presented clear financial comparisons and demonstrated how switching to a quarterly publication would be both cost-effective and impactful. But the most exciting—and perhaps most meaningful—element of the proposal is the return of home delivery.
We’re genuinely thrilled to bring the RoundUp back to your mailboxes where it belongs. Our trial run with the “Mini RoundUp” was well received, but we knew it was only the beginning. It showed us what was possible and inspired us to strive for more. Through
careful evaluation, we found that while funding existed, it wasn’t being allocated in the most effective way. This new quarterly publication represents not only a financial realignment but the beginning of a stronger, more connected future for Dobson Ranch. The more we know about the HOA, City Property Management, and each other, the more we can all enjoy the benefits of our shared investment.
Staying informed strengthens the foundation on which Dobson Ranch was built. The Quarterly Ranchers’ RoundUp is not a lone hero, but it’s a dedicated force in our ongoing effort to keep every resident engaged and aware. While we don’t expect this magazine to solve every challenge, it represents progress—a step forward in bridging the gap between tradition and innovation while remaining rooted in the values that make Dobson Ranch home.
As we turn the literal pages to this new chapter, we hope the return of the Ranchers’ RoundUp to your mailbox marks more than just a change in delivery—it’s a renewed commitment to connection, transparency, and community spirit. We invite you to read, reflect, and get involved. Whether it’s attending an event, joining a committee, or simply staying informed, every small action helps shape the future of Dobson Ranch. Let’s continue building a community we’re all proud to call home—one season at a time.
