CNHUKLtdwarrantsthatyournew1996andlaterheavy-dutyoff-roaddieselenginewasdesigned,built,andequippedtoconformto applicableU.S.EnvironmentalProtectionAgencyregulationsforaperiodofuseoffiveyearsor3,000hoursofoperation,whicheveroccurs first.

Thenewmodelyear,classofdieselengine,andemissionapplicationdeterminationforyourengineareidentifiedontheemissioncontrol informationlabelaffixedtotheengine.Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatethenewequipmentissoldtothefirstretailpurchaser.

Anyemissioncontrolsystempartswhichareprovendefectiveduringnormalusewillberepairedorreplacedduringthewarrantyperiod.The warrantyrepairsandservicewillbeperformedbyanyauthorizedCNHdealeratthedealerísplaceofbusiness,withnochargeforpartsor labor(includingdiagnosis).

Astheengineowner,youareresponsibletoperformalltherequiredmaintenancelistedinyourownerísmanual.CNHUKLtdwillnotdenyan emissionwarrantyclaimsolelybecauseyouhavenorecordofmaintenance;however,aclaimmaybedeniedifyourfailuretoperform maintenanceresultedinthefailureofawarrantedpart.Receiptscoveringregularmaintenanceshouldberetainedintheeventofquestions andthesereceiptsshouldbepassedontoeachsubsequentowneroftheengine.

ItisrecommendedreplacementpartsusedformaintenanceorrepairsbeCNHServicePartstomaintainthequalityoriginallydesignedinto youremissioncertifiedengine.Theuseofnon-CNHpartsdoesnotinvalidatethewarrantyonothercomponentsunlesstheuseofsuchparts causesdamagetowarrantedparts.

YourWarrantyRightsandObligations

TheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoardandCNHUKLTDarepleasedtoexplaintheemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour engine.In California,new2004andlaterheavy-dutyoff-roadenginesfrom50to750HPmustbedesigned,builtandequippedtomeettheStateís stringentanti-smogstandards.CNHUKLTDmustwarranttheemissioncontrol systemonyour enginefortheperiodsoftimelistedbelow, providedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglectorimpropermaintenanceofyourengine.

Youremissioncontrolsystemincludespartssuchasthefuelinjection systemandtheairinduction system.

Whereawarrantableconditionexists,CNHUKLTDwillrepairyourheavy-dutyoff-roadengineatnocosttoyouincludingdiagnosis,parts andlabor.

ManufacturerísWarrantyCoverage:

The2004andlaterheavy-dutyoff-roadenginesarewarrantedfromtheoriginaldateofdeliveryforfiveyearsor3000hoursofoperation, whicheveroccursfirst.Ifanyemission-relatedpartonyourengineisdefective,thepartwillberepairedorreplacedbyCNHUKLTD.

OwnerísWarrantyResponsibilities:

• Astheheavy-dutyoff-roadengineowner,youareresponsiblefortheperformanceoftherequiredmaintenancelistedinyourownerís manual.CNHUKLTDrecommendsthatyouretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyourheavy-dutyoff-roadengine,butCNHUK LTDcannotdenywarrantysolelyforthelackofreceiptsorforyourfailuretoensuretheperformanceofallscheduledmaintenance.

• Astheheavy-dutyoff-roadengineowner,youshould,however,beawarethatCNHUKLTDmaydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour heavy-dutyoff-roadengineoraparthasfailedduetoabuse,neglect,impropermaintenanceorunapprovedmodifications.

• Yourengineisdesignedtooperateoncommerciallyavailabledieselfuelonly.Useofanyotherfuelmayresultinyourenginenolonger operatingincompliancewithCaliforniaísemissionsrequirements.

• Youareresponsibleforinitiatingthewarrantyprocess.TheARBsuggeststhatyoupresentyourheavy-dutyoff-roadenginetoaCNH dealerassoonasaproblemexists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedbythedealerasexpeditiouslyaspossible.

• Ifyouhaveanyquestionsregardingyourwarrantyrightsandrespons ibilities,youshouldcontactyournearestCNHOfficeattheaddress andtelephonenumberlistedontheOwnerAssistancepageofyourequipmentísoperatormanual.

• Priortotheexpirationofthewarranty,youmustgivenoticeofanyfailureofanemissioncontrolwarrantedpart.Suchnoticemustbe giventoCNHUKLTDoranauthorizedCNHdealer,andyoumustdelivertheenginetotherepairlocation.

• You,theowner,areresponsibleforincidentalcostsincurredbyyourselforyouremployeesasaresultofanunwarrantablefailure. Examplesofsuchcostsarecommunicationexpenses,mealsandlodging.

• Theownerisresponsibleforanybusinesscostsorlosses,anyìdowntimeîexpensesandanyìcargoîdamagewhichresultfromthe failureofawarrantedpart.CNHUKLTDisnotresponsibleforotherincidentalorconsequentialdamages,including,butnotlimitedto fines,theft,vandalismorcollisions.

CNHUKLTDResponsibilities:

Warrantyworkwillbeprovidedatnochargetotheowneratanyauthorizeddealer,usinggenuineCNHservicepartsorCNHapprovedrebuilt partsorassemblies.

Theownerwillnotbechargedfordiagnosticlaborwhichleadstothedeterminationthatawarrantedpartisdefective,ifthediagnosticwork wasperformedatawarrantystation.

CNHUKLTDisliablefordamagestootherenginecomponentscausedbythefailureunderwarrantyofanywarrantedpart.

WarrantyLimitations

CNHUKLTDisnotresponsibleforfailuresresultingfromabuseorneglectbyowneroroperator.

CNHUKLTDwarrantstotheultimatepurchaserandeachsubsequentpurchaserthattheengineisdesigned,built,andequippedsoasto conformwithallapplicableregulationsadoptedbytheAirResourcesBoard,andthatitisfreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanship whichcausethefailureofawarrantedpart.

Anywarrantedpartwhichisnotscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenance,orwhichisscheduledonlyforregularinspectionto theeffectofìrepairorreplaceasnecessaryîiswarrantedforthewarrantyperiod.

Anywarrantedpartwhichisscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceiswarrantedfortheperiodoftimepriortothefirstscheduled replacementpointofthatpart.

CNHUKLTDisnotliabletowarrantfailurescausedbytheuseofadd-onormodifiedparts.

THETRACTOR

1.ReadtheOperatorísManualcarefullybefore usingthetractor.Lackofoperatingknowledge canleadtoaccidents.

2.Useanapprovedrollbarandseatbeltforsafe operation.Overturningatractorwithoutarollbar canresultindeathorinjury.Ifyourtractorisnot equippedwitharollbarandseatbelt,seeyour NewHollandDealer.

3.Alwaysusetheseatbelt.Theonlyinstancewhen theseatbeltshouldnotbeusedisiftherollbar hasbeenremovedfromthetractor.

4.Ifafrontendloaderistobeinstalled,alwaysuse aFOPS(FallingObjectProtectiveStructure) canopytoavoidinjuryfromfallingobjects.

5.Usethehandholdsandstepplateswhengetting onandoffthetractortopreventfalls.Keepsteps andplatformclearedofmudanddebris.

6.Donotpermitanyonebuttheoperatortorideon thetractor.Thereisnosafeplaceforextrariders.

SERVICINGTHETRACTOR

1.Thecooling system operatesunderpressure whichiscontrolledbytheradiatorcap.Itis dangeroustoremovethecapwhilethesystemis hot.Alwaysturnthecapslowlytothefirststop andallowpressuretoescapebeforeremoving thecapentirely.

2.Keepanytypeofopenflameawayfromthe tractoranddonotsmokewhilerefueling.Waitfor theenginetocoolbeforerefueling.

3.Keepthetractorandequipment,particularly brakesandsteering,maintainedinareliableand satisfactoryconditiontoensureyoursafetyand complywithlegalrequirements.

4.Keepopenflameorcoldweatherstartingaids awayfromthebatterytopreventfiresor explosions.Usejumpercablesaccordingto instructionstopreventsparkswhichcouldcause explosion.

5.Stoptheenginebeforeperforminganyservice onthetractor.

6.Escapinghydraulic/dieselfluidunderpressure canpenetratetheskincausingseriousinjury.If fluidisinjectedintotheskin,obtainmedical attentionimmediatelyorgangrenemayresult.

• DONOTuseyourhandtocheckforleaks. Useapieceofcardboardorpapertosearch forleaks.

• Stoptheengineandrelievepressurebefore connectingordisconnectinglines.

• Tightenallconnectionsbeforestartingthe engineorpressurizinglines.

7.Donotmodifyorpermitanyoneelsetomodifyor alterthistractororanyofitscomponentsor functionswithoutfirstconsultingaNewHolland Dealer.

8.Thefueloilintheinjectionsystem isunderhigh pressureandcanpenetratetheskin.Unqualified personsshouldnotremoveorattempttoadjust apump,injector,nozzle,oranyotherpartofthe fuelinjectionsystem.Failuretofollowthese instructionscanresultinseriousinjury.

9.Continuouslong-termcontactwithusedengine oilmaycauseskincancer.Avoidprolonged contactwithusedengineoil.Washskinpromptly withsoapandwater.

10.Somecomponentsofyourtractor,suchas gasketsandfrictionsurfaces(brakelinings, clutchlinings,etc.)maycontainasbestos. Breathingasbestosdustisdangeroustoyour health.Youareadvisedtohaveanymaintenanceorrepaironsuchcomponentscarriedout byanauthorizedNewHollandDealer.However, ifserviceoperationsaretobeundertakenon partsthatcontainasbestos,theessential precautionslistedbelowmustbeobserved:

• Workoutofdoorsorinawellventilatedarea.

• Dustfoundonthetractororproducedduring workonthetractorshouldberemovedby extraction,notbyblowing.

• Dustwasteshouldbedampened,placedin asealedcontainer,andmarkedtoensure safedisposal.

• Ifanycutting,drilling,etc.isattemptedon materialscontainingasbestos,theitem shouldbedampenedandonlyhandtoolsor lowspeedpowertoolsused.

OPERATINGTHETRACTOR

1.Beforestartingthetractor,applytheparking brake,placethePTOleverintheìOFFîposition, theliftcontrolleverinthedownposition,the remotecontrolvalveleversintheneutral position,andthetransmissioninneutral.

2.Alwayssitinthetractorseatwhenstartingthe engineoroperatingcontrols.Donotstartthe engineoroperatecontrolswhilestandingbeside thetractor.

3.Donotbypasstheneutralstartswitches.Consult yourNewHollandDealerifyourneutralstart controlsmalfunction.Usejumpercablesonlyin therecommendedmanner.Improperusecan resultintractorrunaway.

4.Avoidaccidentalcontactwiththegearshiftlever whiletheengineisrunning,asthiscancause unexpectedtractormovement.

5.Beforegettingoffthetractor,disengagethePTO, turntheengineoff,andapplytheparkingbrake. Nevergetoffthetractorwhileitisinmotion.

6.Donotparkthetractoronasteepincline.

7.Donotoperatethetractorengineinanenclosed buildingwithoutadequateventilation.Exhaust fumescancausedeathorillness.

8.Ifthepowersteeringorengineceasesoperating, stopthetractorimmediately.

9.Pullonlyfromthedrawbarorthelowerlink drawbarinthedownposition.Useonlyadrawbar pinthatlocksinplace.Pullingfromthetractor rearaxleoranypointabovetheaxlemaycause thetractortoupset.

10.Ifthefrontendofthetractortendstorisewhen heavyimplementsareattachedtothethreepointhitch,installfrontendorfrontwheel weights.Donotoperatethetractorwithalight frontend.

11.Alwayssetthehydraulicselectorleverinposition controlwhenattachingortransportingequipment.Ensurehydrauliccouplersareproperly mountedandwilldisconnectsafelyincaseof accidentaldetachmentofimplement.

12.Donotleaveequipmentintheraisedposition.

13.Usetheflasher/turnsignallightsandSMVsigns whentravelingonpublicroadsbothdayand night(unlessprohibitedbylaw).

14.Whenoperatingatnight,adjustlightstoprevent blindingoncomingdrivers.

DRIVINGTHETRACTOR

1.Watchwhereyouaregoing,especiallyatrow ends,onroads,aroundtreesandlowhanging obstacles.

2.Toavoidupsets,drivethetractorwithcareandat asafespeed.Useextracautionwhenoperating overroughground,whencrossingditchesor slopes,andwhenturningcorners.

3.Toprovidetwo-wheelbraking,locktractorbrake pedalstogetherwhentransportingonroads.

4.Donotcoastorfreewheeldownhills.Usethe samegearwhengoingdownhillasisusedwhen goinguphill.

5.Anytowedvehiclewithatotalweightexceeding thatofthetowingtractorshouldbeequippedwith brakesforsafeoperation.

6.Ifthetractorbecomesstuckorthetiresbecome frozentotheground,backupthetractorto preventupset.

7.Alwayscheckoverheadclearance,especially whentransportingthetractor.

8.Whenoperatingatnight,adjustlightstoprevent blindingoncomingdrivers.

OPERATINGTHEPTO

1.WhenoperatingPTOdrivenequipment,shutoff theengineandwaituntilthePTOstopsbefore gettingoffthetractoranddisconnectingthe equipment.

2.Donotwearlooseclothingwhenoperatingthe powertake-offorwhennearrotatingequipment.

3.WhenoperatingstationaryPTOdrivenequipment,alwaysplacebothgearshiftleversin neutral,applythetractorparkingbrake,and blocktherearwheelsfrontandback.

4.Toavoidinjury,donotclean,adjust,unclog,or servicePTOdrivenequipmentwhenthetractor engineisrunning.

5.EnsurethePTOmastershieldisinstalledatall times.AlwaysreplacethePTOshieldcapwhen thePTOisnotinuse.

DIESELFUEL

1.UNDERNOCIRCUMSTANCESshouldgasoline,alcohol,orblendedfuelsbeaddedtodiesel fuel.Thesecombinationscancreatean increasedfireorexplosivehazard.Suchblends aremoreexplosivethanpuregasolineina closedcontainersuchasafueltank.DONOT USETHESEBLENDS.

2.Neverremovethefuelcaporrefuelwiththe enginerunningorhot.

3.Donotsmokewhilerefuelingorwhenstanding nearfuel.

4.Maintaincontrolofthefuelfillerpipenozzlewhen fillingthetank.

5.Donotfillthefueltanktocapacity.Allowroomfor expansion.

6.Wipeupspilledfuelimmediately.

7.Alwaystightenthefueltankcapsecurely.

8.Iftheoriginalfueltankcapislost,replaceitwith aNewHollandapprovedcap.Anon-approved, proprietarycapmaynotbesafe.

9.Keepequipmentcleanandproperlymaintained.

10.Donotdriveequipmentnearopenfires.

11.Neverusefuelforcleaningpurposes.

12.Arrangefuelpurchasessothatwintergradefuels arenotheldoverandusedinthespring.

YourNewHollandtractorisequippedwithasafety frame.Itmustbemaintainedinaserviceable condition.Becarefulwhendrivingthroughdoorways orworkinginconfinedspaceswithlowheadroom.

UNDERNOCIRCUMSTANCESshouldyou:

• modify,drill,oralterthesafetyframeinanyway. Doingsomayrenderyouliabletolegalprosecution.

• attempttostraightenorweldanypartofthemain frameorretainingbracketswhichhavesuffered damage.Doingsomayweakenthestructureand endangeryoursafety.

• secureanypartsonthemainframeorattach yoursafetyframewithanythingotherthanthe specialhightensileboltsandnutsspecified.

• attachchainsorropestothemainframeforpullingpurposes.

• takeunnecessaryriskseventhoughyoursafety frameaffordsyouthemaximumprotectionpossible.

Soil,air,andwaterarevitalfactorsofagricultureand lifeingeneral.Whenlegislationdoesnotyetrulethe treatmentofsomeofthesubstanceswhichare requiredbyadvancedtechnology,commonsense shouldgoverntheuseanddisposalofproductsofa chemicalandpetrochemicalnature.

Thefollowingarerecommendationswhichmaybeof assistance:

• Becomeacquaintedwithandensurethatyouunderstandtherelativelegislationapplicableto yourcountry.

• Wherenolegislationexists,obtaininformation fromsuppliersofoils,filters,batteries,fuels,antifreeze,cleaningagents,etc.,withregardtotheir effectonmanandnatureandhowtosafelystore, useanddisposeofthesesubstances.Agriculturalconsultantswill,inmanycases,beabletohelp youaswell.

HELPFULHINTS

1.Avoidfillingtanksusingcansorinappropriate pressurizedfueldeliverysystemswhichmay causeconsiderablespillage.

2.Ingeneral,avoidskincontactwithallfuels,oils, acids,solvents,etc.Mostofthemcontain substanceswhichmaybeharmfultoyourhealth.

3.Modernoilscontainadditives.Donotburn contaminatedfuelsandorwasteoilsinordinary heatingsystems.

4.Avoidspillagewhendrainingoffusedengine coolantmixtures,engine,gearboxandhydraulic oils,brakefluids,etc.Donotmixdrainedbrake fluidsorfuelswithlubricants.Storethemsafely untiltheycanbedisposedofinaproperwayto complywithlocallegislationandavailable resources.

5.Moderncoolantmixtures,i.e.antifreezeand otheradditives,shouldbereplacedeverytwo years.Theyshouldnotbeallowedtogetintothe soilbutshouldbecollectedanddisposedof safely.

6.Donotopentheair-conditioningsystemyourself. Itcontainsgaseswhichshouldnotbereleased intotheatmosphere.Yourdealerorair conditioningspecialisthasaspecialextractorfor thispurposeandwillhavetorechargethesystem properly.

7.Repairandleaksordefectsintheenginecooling orhydraulicsystemimmediately.

8.Donotincreasethepressureinapressurized circuitasthismayleadtoacomponentfailure.

9.Protecthosesduringweldingaspenetrating weldsplattermayburnaholeorweakenthem, allowingthelossofoils,coolant,etc.
